  • @Baastilein31 Is what your girlfriend said after sex

  • remeber this from my childhood, can't say if it made me sad or something but i know it touched me, i have that same feeling with Tom Waits " in the neighborhood" they share the same space in my memory and feelings.

  • Back in the day of 'real' music videos :)

  • NFFC <3

  • the bagpipes are amaing!

  • This song was being played when I was born!! My Mother told me...She LOVES this song for that reason!!!!

When MY daughter was being born (2008), and the evenings there after she was bombarded with mull of kintyre and Hey Jude (my favorite Beatles song) in the end I ended up singing "rule the world" by Take that...My Mother and I fell in love with the song after we saw the movie "Stardust"!! Now, Neeve is 4 and she loves Rave music, Justin Bieber and Metallica (for some reason!!!!

  • I WANT THIS PLAYED AT MY MEMORIAL WHEN I PASS ON........ITS SO BEAUTIFUL.

  • Paul has it all. He has the voice, the looks (no homo), creativity and he's very intelligant.

  • Beauty and tears, thanks always to a global leader of joy and hope, Paul McCartney, always.

So we'll all Let It Be...eh, Paul? PEACE .

  • I sang this wonderful song by heart when I was 14, and I still remember every word, after 35 years. Thank you for these sweet memories!

  • brilliant

  • My Dad and his side of the family are form the Mull of Kintyre. Everytime i miss them i listen to this song, as it reminds me of not only them, but the amazing landscape and fresh air that comes with all the memories i have with my family there. On a warm and clear summers day, you can see the coast of Ireland from Cambeltown, which is a fishing village about 20 minutes away from Paul McCartneys farm.

  • @Alchohollica Oh that is so cool!

  • I was very young when this was on the radio but I always used to run over and turn it up !

  • this is 1st song i can rememeber i was probably 8yrs old love the bag pipes :-)

  • every time i leave Scotland i think, great a wee break but after about 2 weeks away i want to come home, i try to fight it but im Scottish and its in the blood and even if i agree ill never hear of a bad word said about it, i LOVE being Scottish and i feel blessed if im honest

  • I love this song so much i just cant stop playing it. i try and learn it on the guita.

This is not dreadful it is brill and total play.

  • love this song and love the bagpipes xx

  • Ah Mull of Kintyre, the unofficial National Anthem of Scotland :)

  • dreadful

  • @mcnoobert I get more and more annoyed about all these no-lifers sittin' here on YT and writing down their freaking life stories thinking people care. Get a blog for god sake instead.

  • Love, Love, Love this. I have roots in Scotland, and have such a wonderful feeling when I hear this or any Scot song played. Paul does it best. Love you Paul.

  • wel a great song i never saw a hit so fast coing to the top of the top40 of Holland a great song made by the master himself

    sir Paul MCgartney

  • Also had a beer with Linda and Paul in Campletown.

  • Buried a BT card under a rock there in 1986. I wonder if it is still there.

  • i love this song to bits because i grew up near where it was filmed

  • I just had the worst year of my life!!! my step da just died of a heart attack at the age of 46, A week later my aunt died of cancer and 4 weeks after that my uncle died of a heart attack!!! my father came and told me after all this happened that he wanted this song as his funeral song!!!! this song is such a powerful song..... A song that I will be close to my heart!!!!!!

  • @lennongirl99 Hi, I've just uploaded this video of Mull Of Kintyre and browed through the comments to find yours that made my heart sank. "I'm sorry to hear of such bad luck!" My mother died this year on Wednesday 3 August. 1 death is bad, but to hear of three happen in a reccuring manner is catastrofic!! I guess your dad liked the beatles, did he? I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure your father was a legend to your heart.

  • @Reayism thank you soo much for ur comment it ment alot.... It mad me cry!!! Im very sorry for ur loss!!! this song helps!! try listening to i'll follow the sun-beatles!!! that song really helps too

  • Sir Paul is a national treasure!!! Merry Christmas

  • Cu totii avem o moara la care am vrea sa ne intoarcem ,la care ar trebui sa revenim din cand incand dar pentru asta trebuie sa ne suim intr-un tren cu Sir Paul . . .

  • Music video ~ video of people playing music. A rare thing, indeed.

  • my Grans FAV,!!!!

  • Hard to believe that Linda McCartney is gone for almost 15 years now.

No matter how low my mood is - this song always cheers me up.

  • Who disliked this!?!

  • :') io amo Paul! :')

  • Oh Lord! take me there....

  • When I was a kid I hated this song. My sister loved it, and now that I get into Celtic music, I think it's just fabulous. A Scottish co-worker of mine always loved when I played this on our shift. It brings back great memories of a place and time that's behind me now, but the song is timeless in its beauty and honesty.

  • my nana use to sing this to us may she always rest in peace.

  • Hi mrshrspec, Thankyou so much, it will be 2 yers on Nov 7th, I know he is =

the other half of who I am, I say this he was the greatest love of my life.

Thankyou so much for sharing this with the rest of us:)

    God Bless:)

  • This is one of the tunes that makes up the soundtrack of my life. I was 11 when this came out, and this takes me back to that time of innocence..

  • I didn't know this song existed in 1977 - just discovered it a few years ago - love the bagpipes - - love how they the pipers start walking on the beach. BEAUTIFUL!

  • beats all this black shit about , yes i am racist

  • I just finished watching the James Dean Forever Young on TCM. This is so beautiful and so appropriate for the end of the show. James Dean was my first love. Will never forget the day he died I was 9 years old. We had just seen East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause.......just couldn't believe he was gone. He is truly Forever Young in my heart.

  • This song is great because its lyrics are relative; they take you back to where you want to go.

  • I lost my hubby almost 2 years ago, I also understand why Paul misses Linda so much, it's so hard because you share so much in common with your soul mate, they are the other half that completes you.

  • @sheltiepaws1 - sorry for you loss.

  • I only just found this song, after vaguely hearing it in my youth. From the first moment, the song, the video...made me weep, with a deep sadness and longing. In fact, I have been listening to it over and over the past few days, to sing on guitar, and as I sing it, I sob. It breaks me down.

The mood, the love, the peace, in Paul & Linda's faces; bliss.

I love you for creating this song. You have captured a place, a feeling, a memory, from somewhere deep inside of me. Inspires me to sing again

  • @CupNSpooner This song also makes me cry for a reason i'm unsure of... Perhaps the forlorn yearning and pure honesty in the lyrics... Guaranteed tears every time i hear this... the song is two years older than me, and also seems to remind me of childhood.. Beautiful

  • @CupNSpooner Cool story bro. When is the story of your miserable life being published in bookform? I'll be the first to buy it, set fire to it and extinguish that fire by pissing all over it.

    Merry Christmas

  • @Nemesiz87 Why would you extinguish it after starting to burn it? Are you schizophrenic?

  • @OneFifthNative Well I'd ofc let it burn for a while until only a few flames are left, and then set it out. Schizoprenic....? Who knows, maybe it's not even the real me writting this... Could be the "other" guy. Mind = BLOWN!

  • @Nemesiz87 Maybe the other side of you gives people positive responses to strangers who post tender emotions in comments to music. Happy new year.

  • heard this on cbc radio yesterday and can't get it out of my head. the man was born to write songs.

  • This has to be my favourite Wings song. My ancestors were Scottish and I've always loved the bagpipes in this song. The countryside looks beautiful and I hope to visit someday.

  • @corky7ca

This is easily my favourite Wings song, just a classic!

By all means DO go to visit Scotland, you won't regret it!

BEAUTIFUL country and people to match it!

  • This is the first song I remember from my childhood and I was only 4, goose bumps when the bag pipes start, feel old now :-(

  • always in my mind... :)

  • It wasn't No.1 for 56-million weeks for no reason.

  • @adamtzsch slight exageration

  • @mrmagicroundcircle You're kidding! And, btw, nice ironic misspelling :)

  • What a song - thx!

  • 3 beats to the bar always sounds fresh as long as you dont over do

  • There is a great shot of Linda in this video. I can understand why Paul misses her so much since she passed on. I lost my wife two years ago, it left a void that will never be filled.

  • @samuelad You are lucky, you can love so deeply!!

  • @samuelad Sorry for your loss brother

  • Mad to think they named a place in Scotland after this song!

  • @jamesstafforduk they didn't the place was already called Mull of Kintyre...

  • @jamesstafforduk Don't suppose you fancy buying a bridge?

  • @jamesstafforduk And imagine naming California after a Beach Boy's song :-)

  • I remember listening to this as a child in my Scottish grandmas home on a Sunday after a big Scottish breakfast after church. Eggs, bacon, fried tomatoes and bread. black pudding, sausages and tea. love it love it

The bag pipes make my blood sing!!!!!!!!!

  • whose the 9 sado's that dont like this song, must be Chico fans.

  • Being of third generation Scots, this song hits home. We should all learn from the message it, Paul, and on a larger scale..the Beatles were trying to convey. Its about love, home, friends, family...we can learn alot if we just listen to one another.

  • will add my tuppence worth simply love this song

  • I cannot believe that people fight here, even descending to the level of using nationalist and racist slurs. I mean, have you even been listening to this song- so soothing and beautiful. People who are capable of hatred, racism and whatnot after listening to this really have no heart. Besides, McCartney is all about peace. Grow up already. You are stuck in the muddy gutter that humankind seems incapable of crawling out of. You are ruining all progress towards peace, tolerance and understanding

  • @FilipCesarCeki arent you fighting the fact that people fight on youtube comments...

  • I never get tired of listening to this song.

  • Great !

  • who the hell are the 6 people who dislike this song.....this is one of the greatest songs of all time...Go Scotland....

  • @goldwinger27 YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Some dip shit commented that this is a rip off of Frank Sidebottom's song "Mull of Timperley". Chris Sievey a.k.a.Frank Sidebottom is a spoof artist and does various renditions of famous songs most with the reference to Timperley. People who post before checking the facts should be castrated and have their testicles surgically attached to their necks, that way people would recognize them for the dick heads they are!
