  • who knew! i made partner about 6mos ago and never knew this?! i'll be using a watermark on the next vids!! wow! she lost a lot of dough smh.. that vid has over 8 million hits.

  • @BeautifulEHuman Congrats on making YouTube Partner!!! Yay!

It has gotten pretty rough out here now in terms of lazy people stealing your videos and making money off your work. But Checscaleigh ended up making out like a bandit because she has been everywhere and has QUIT HER DAY JOB after that viral video! There is hope for us all! She was featured last week on YouTube Live event. I think it should be on youtube dot com slash partnersupport channel by now.

    Later chica!

  • Thanks for the info Sis

  • @cathy2018 you sound stupid

  • How'd you get that customer Creative Lady tag next to your Subscribe button? That's cool.

  • @PeculiarPhenomena It's one of the mini banners that YouTube partners get.

  • why are so many black females trying so hard to be white?

  • @cathy2018 I've been too busy being black to notice.

  • Good advice as usual!

  • How do u watermark vids as well?

  • @TheNaprika You're using a Mac right? The simplest way to watermark is to just use the Title function to put your name or logo in the video and let it run the length of the video. I have been working on a video for this but got slowed down by the demands of work. Ugh! LOL!

  • @thecreativelady no i dont. wld love to see the footage tho

  • @TheNaprika Hold tight, I'm going to send you the link in a PM so you can watch.

  • You need to be getting paid for this :) ...well I guess you do w/the ads

  • @MzSuperStar Thanks. That is the ultimate compliment.

  • Thanks for taking time to provide an explanation of the PH's behavior. Thank you for supporting my Chescaleigh. Good luck to you.

  • @FLRsMom Thank you Ma'am. Chescaleigh has a huge fan base in the natural hair community and we definitely support her. I am enjoying watching her star rise.

  • Thanks so much for doing this video! I learned a lot!!

  • @MsMamamo1 I'm happy to help.

  • that is great advice. Perez Hilton probably knew this was going to be big and didn't want to share any ad revenue...

good point about watermarking. yours could actually be a bit bigger and not be obtrusive

  • @llel11 I never thought about it that way - that he'd be greedy and not want to share the revenue! I have one word: KARMA.

I'm working on the right size and opacity of my watermark. I'm glad it's not too obtrusive as is. Thanks for commenting.

  • Very good advice. That is so messed up what he did to her though, smh.

  • @hoodiewearing82 Thanks. And in the end, Chescaleigh won big: how many YouTubers get to sit with Anderson Cooper? Wow!

  • I hope she sues his butt too!

  • @modamaven She has the grounds to sue. But I bet she lets it go but who knows.

  • Great Advice....

  • @KCanzater1 Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • yeah tht was out of order. chescaleighs video was awesome and i am glad she made a success out of it. thx for the tips

  • @TheNaprika Do you get Anderson Cooper and CNN? I DVR'd her on the show last night but was too tired after Homecoming to watch it.

  • Good video. The funny things about watermarks is people will steal your mess AND cover them up. YES. I have people steal my pictures and videos and cover up MY watermark with their own. smh. Imma start doing a floating watermark.

  • @whoissugar Oh Lawd! That is some real tomfoolery right there. The floating watermark will make 'em work.

  • @whoissugar gosh, people do spend a lot of time being cons, instead of being creative! ssshhhhh :(

  • @louloumatou RIGHT! The realist thing I've read in a long time.

  • @whoissugar I did my first floating watermark. Lol. I don't know if its distracting but it is on my back to nappy/kinky/natural video I'll be posting tomorrow. Not sure what the title of the vid will be but something like that. Good Luck. We should all get credit for our stuff.

  • Thanks for the tips..very helpful! :) Take care, CL!

  • @EvelynParham Thanks EP. Girl, I get Google alerts on TCL. I just saw my recent twist out video on this website! I was like what? At least it was an embed and not a rip but it is always shocking to find your content somewhere else. I put a link to it in the description box.

  • @thecreativelady Yeah, there are a lot of sites on the web that have our videos on them. What I notice is that it is mostly done by people in other countries. At least they embedded it and you're still getting the views credited to you. That's good!

  • As always great info that we all should take heed to. tHATS THE Exact thing that happened to me! My video is on Sallys website right now and the ONLY way I found out about it is through a subbie. Im really upset about it and im trying to see what to do about it. The ripped me off LOL.

  • @missthis897 Whaaaat? You should pursue it.

  • I went to Perez's site but I didn't see the video there; maybe he took it down.

  • @NaturallyNaomi1920 I think he caught so much flack that he had to take it down. I'm must glad he was caught red handed. Thief.

  • @thecreativelady oh, well thats good, with his stealing self!

  • Great advice... I need to learn how to do watermarks...I do a lot of direct uploads so I don't know if it's possible for those videos

  • @qochemist Yeah, I think you get the watermark feature when you edit - unless you shoot with a camera that allows you to insert text.

  • i think this is great advice -- i do not know how to watermark a video - i'm sure there is a tutorial or something on that. Thanks!!

  • @okorolina Thanks. Yes, there are some videos on YouTube about watermarking a video. I am also going to work on one but it will be a couple days before I get it uploaded though.

  • How do you watermark a vid? Can you explain that so that some of the YouTubers will know? Thanks

  • @mpenny226 I will gladly work on a tutorial but the concept works if you can use layers in your editing software. The watermark is a transparent graphic or word that is an overlay on top of the video. Therefore, no matter if you video is embedded or ripped and stolen, your name or logo shows in the video.

  • Hello...I like Cheseca's vids. I used them when I was researching locs. Perez ain't ish. This is not cool. She should make a video blasting him. lol

  • @mpenny226 I think she is way too cool for that turkey. It all worked out in her favor so she probably won't blast him.

  • Thanks for the info...sometimes I watermark my videos sometimes I do not, but I never allow embedding. I am wondering if there is a way for someone to use my videos even if I don't allow embedding.

  • @AfroMohawkable There is a feature in the settings of each video that allows vloggers to turn off embedding. Yes, even if you select do not allow embedding, as @onyxbeauty1988 commented below, it's not the people who embed your video but the ones who rip and steal it and give you no credit. Find her post and read what she said.

  • I saw the vids and I think their definitely funny but true

  • @lmcth That video is hilariously funny AND true.

  • Thank you for more great advice! how do you watermark a video? Gonna do a search for a tutorial on that, If you have one already, or know of any good ones, I would love to know.

    Thanks,

    Debi

  • @SheSellsSeaShellscom I will work on a watermark video. There are some good ones already on YouTube too. I'll send you a link if I can find one.

  • Very true thanks for the tips

  • @mrsconversationpiece Sure thing!

  • Great tips! I decided the same thing about watermarking when something similar happened to another YouTuber. Now I embed watermarks in all my vids. Great tip about annotations. I had no idea they didn't show up on mobile devices. I'm going to start embedding extra information and including links in the downbar. Thank you!

  • @GirlsLoveYourCurls Thanks for watching. Yeah, check out some videos that you know have annotations and see if they show up on your mobile device. I am so embedding a watermark on my videos here on out.

  • Curious! How do you do a watermark? And where is the embedding button located. First time hearing about all this. Maybe i over looked.

  • @HoneyBee277 Hey, I posted a new video. I'm share it with you in a minute. Thanks.

  • Also -- whether you allow embedding or not your videos can still be ripped using sites like keepvid.com . Pretty much if it has a url you can download it. Embedding isn't bad -- people who misuse your content are.

  • @onyxbeauty1988 I knew there was some tomfoolery going down with this ripping jive. I agree about the embedding as long as the videomaker gets a link back to their channel. I'm appreciative when someone embeds my video. It's a win win.

  • Watermarking is important. I've had videos stolen and uploaded to other sites under new names that subscribers told me about. After it's done you can go through getting it taken down but those views/monetization are gone. So I put one of my websites on each video + put a preview of another one of my videos at the end so if they steal it at least some might want to see more and go to my site.

  • @onyxbeauty1988 Thanks for sharing your experiences. Great suggestions about watermarking and the previews at the end. I've been wanting to do that too but get so bogged down with the whole video making process that let it slide.

  • Thank You for sharing

  • This video is on point. I saw two other YT makers on a business channel & they are makeup video reviewers. When I saw that I was like wow. They didn't even know somebody had done that.

  • @phenomenalagent Wow. I sure hope they were embedded and not ripped. This can be too much.

  • wow, i always turn off the embedding since you told me last year!

  • @louloumatou Yeah but according to what @onyxbeauty1988 says, crooks can still rip the video and use it for themselves. In plain words, you don't get the YouTube view count and no Adsense revenue. I'm watermarking everything!

  • I agree with both points. I started using watermarks a few vids ago and I strive to make quality vids...probably one of the reasons I don't make too many! It takes a lot of time filming and editing! Great video!

  • @NappyNFree Doesn't it take lots of time to post videos? It IS a part time job. I try to stop posting but I'm addicted to it because it let's me live out my love of making videos and sharing information.

  • Yep that's the one I saw.

  • OK, I'll watermark. Thank you, thank you.

  • @ChippiSweet Oh yeah, i think we all seen the necessity to watermark.

  • Oh and your looks fierce!!!!!!!!

  • As usual great video and advice!!

  • @avaloncar18 Thanks! Glad you found the tips helpful. The hair tutorial will be edited and posted this week.

  • I saw the vids but not sure which one I saw.

  • @HelpMamaRemote I've put a link to Chescaleigh's video in the description box.

  • perez is a hot mess!

  • @indibabs122275 I think I was the only person who did not see it all going down on Twitter.
