  • This is a great sounding 12 string. Have you played the EG523SC-12? It sounds great also but its a Jumbo body style. I was leaning towards the Jumbo but now I'm not so sure. The Jumbo is a little cheaper in price. Does yours fret easily? Is the string action low? If U get a chance try it with a Jangle Box....it'll blow you away.

  • this is epic! you are a epic man. we should start a classic rock cover band one day! no joke

  • A few questions, How long does it take to re-string that? looks like loads of fun lol. And how are this in Open G? ( For song reference listen to Wild Horses by The Rolling stones). Thanks!

  • do electric guitar strings sound good on an electric accoustic??

  • @KJEboys- I've actually never tried it. The sound will definitely be different as acoustic strings are usually Bronze or Phosphor Bronze wound. Steel Strings will not sound near as rich as the bronze strings. Steel strings are made to magnetically react with pickups, while bronze wound strings will work with the acoustic and bring out the natural sound of the guitar. But ultimately its just an opinion thing i suppose! it won't hurt to try!

  • I like the poster in your reflection mate

  • :)

  • i'm looking to buy an takamine ef-400s is anyone can tell me if i should????

  • @fdhvi

  • That was great! I'm planning on buying a 12 string Takamine and I'm not sure which model I should get. Is this one Japanese? Thanks!

  • @maurabazzarelli-i honestly do not know haha. i would check but i'm on a month long tour right now. i'm sure it says on musiciansfriend. I'm sorry i can't help you out with this information!

  • Well well well !

Hi Justin, i want buy this guitar!

    The "action" is good ?!

Do you have another video with takamine ?!

    Tnk'S

    CyA Tak

  • @CrimeTaK: Yeah man! the action is great! it took a basic truss rod adjustment at first but everything is built very nice and it is not hard to get your desired action with it. I don't have another video right now, but I want to get a video up of the guitar plugged in as well, so when i have time i'll do that.

  • @jro3030 Tnk's ! I waiting for the new video !

However i buy it tomorrow !!!

The song at minutes 2 20 is wonderful !

Do you have Tab or title ?

    Tnk's e goooooood Day !

    Tak

  • @CrimeTaK Hello there, it 's Over the hills and far away by Led Zeppelin

  • There's some girl standing in the reflection of the guitars body : )

  • Hilary duff poster brutha! haha

  • I bet you drew the picture in the background too. You talented bastard. Good work.

  • Haha great video, I found it interesting that the songs you played are the 'exact' same ones I like to play on acoustic :P

  • Yes!! haha. gotta love 'em dude. Thanks for the comment

  • Lol. Love the Wish You Were Here!

  • Thanks man! one of the first songs I learned and have played it all the way till now. that intro in itself has just a great sound to it.

  • Haha! I saw this guitar in Guitar Center and guess what song I played on it!

  • @nitrum3000 "who let the dogs out?"

  • great guitar

  • What gauge strings are you using, Extra lights or regular lights, etc, and are you at standard tuning or lower at D, etc.

  • In this video, I am using Ernie Ball extra lights, and i am in standard tuning

  • I have same gittar,its cost 1300 $ with case,one i have 6 str., but this model the best ................

  • @bobikzdox hey hows ur ef341sc doing ? i m thinking about buying it. Is it worth it or not?

  • no,sorry !!! i'm playing on it.....

  • first! great sound and great playing!!!

i'm justo looking for a takamine like your's!

could you tell me the price of this awesome guitar?

  • Thanks so much brutha! This guitar brand new on musiciansfriend is runnin' $1,249, but I've seen it on ebay from 600-800 bucks on occasion. it's definitely worth the investment!

  • @jro3030 How much did YOU pay for it?

  • I got mine for $650 from a friend who had to pay off a fine. so i was in the right place at the right time haha

  • i just bought a 12 string electric left handed guild maple wood sunburst guitar. i am also 12 years old

  • awesome dude!! keep on playin it! never get discouraged! especially now that you have a guild 12 string!

  • yeah i really lucked out finding a lefty... this will be the first time i actually played a 12 string. ive played them upside down but thats no fun... now all i gotta do is wait the "seems like forever" shipping period...

  • Awesome guitar!! That peg pattern seems odd but I don't really know what the purpose of the odd spacings is?

  • Oh, that is just 2 black pegs on the B strings. I left my case open for like a week and lost 2 of the pegs, and the black ones were the only ones I had haha. Nothing fancy about it, just a lack of music supply resources at the time!

  • You seem like such a good kid. Ill bet your parents are proud of you. I am 40 and have been playing a Taylor for 2 years now. I have a 19 month old boy and he loves to sit with me while I play. Hope he grows up to play as well as you do. Thank you.

  • Thank you! that means a lot! I wish you the best in raising your son, and hopefully guitar and music will be something you can share all of your lives. Appreciate the compliment!

    God Bless!

  • very nice i have on my self and im only 12

  • awesome man! well keep goin' with it! it's sweet your playing at a young age! especially a twelve string!

  • One of my Favorite guitars i own!

  • Great guitar and Great playing!

    I love your video!!

  • absolutely gorgeous. <3

can't wait until i can finally afford to pick up a 12-string. =]

  • YES!! they are great investments for sure!

  • wish you were here is played on a 12 string? im pretty sure its not..

  • Yep, the intro rhythm bit is most definitely a 12-string. And it is hard to hear and I can't exactly tell but i think it might continue on through the song too. But the intro is for sure man.

  • oh ok i didnt know that. i cant wait to get a 12 string

  • David Gilmour Plays a six string Gibson, But The second Guitar is a 12 Sting Takamine

  • can i ask a question does that guitar have a built in tunner? cuz i wanna get one but the one i saw at guitarcenter(website) didnt have one

    the preamp was to simple

i have a wasburn festival serios but to go on stage i need a good guitar

  • Well it doesn't have a built in tuner, but it holds tune extremely well, so i just use a Boss TU-2, tune it up, and its good for a set. It is an amazing guitar for live performances. I would highly recommend if its the sound you are looking for.

  • Man that sound is just beautiful! I gotta get my one of those, how much was it?

I loved every single song you played too! Stairway and Wish you were here is awesome! Ive had so much trouble playing the intro to wanted dead or alive, I can never get it to sound right.I have a requestm,Id love to see you play Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones!

    Rock on!

    -Tyler ♠

  • Thanks! I picked it up for cheap from a friend. Musiciansfriend sells them for like 1050, but i've seen them on eBay for 800. definitely the best 12 string i've ever played. and yea dude, once i get my new cam, i'll take a look at it. Still can't match your Van Halen covers dude haha.

  • savage guitar! ;)

  • Yea, the tone on it is totally sick. it sounds amazing as a six string too. i alternate every once in awhile between playing all twelve and then just as a six string. i actually only payed 650 for it cuz i picked it up from a friend. Brand new they are about 1050, but i've seen them on ebay for around 850, so you can pick up a really good deal for how nice these guitars are.

  • ohhh man, I have just started hearing the sounds of a tekamine and even on utube you could hear how fat the tones are. Thanks for the teaser.

  • isnt harder to play a bar chord or play an open chord than a 6 string ?

  • definately a bar chord, because with the extra strings, its kinda painful on like the lines on ur knuckles. its pretty uncomfortable when u start out, you have to find the spot where it doesn't hurt to bar and get some muscle memory for that position. sometimes open chords feel better on a 12 string cuz there isn't so much tension on that one spot on your finger tip.

  • not if you use a slide

  • you are correct on that haha. i've never used a slide on a 12-string so i'm not sure how the tonal quality would be with the slide on the barre chord, but yes, it would make it more comfortable

  • hey its tyler, just wanna say playing pep band was awesome having you back again same with adam haha, anyway you sound great i think its a great idea that you are going to stay in music, i hope you have amazing luck with your life man and i hope to hear from you again soon

  • that guitar has great sound!

  • Definitely!

  • i love that guitar im buying it today from frank tascano kevin is selling it

  • haha alright. right on dude. have fun shreddin' some 12-string acoustic

  • takamine is a beast! mine is only a six string, but its so bright sounding. i like them better than alvarez

  • oh for sure

  • i think changing those strings is a real pain in the a.... am i not right?

  • Haha, well changing the strings isn't horrible...getting them in tune is once you do get them stringed. In my opinion it is well worth it, but it takes a while to develop an ear for tuning this guitar. It takes some extra careful listening. But I guess I can say i'd rather change strings on my strat lol. so yea, its not too fun i guess.

  • i will see more of this great guitar!!

    plase

  • Awesome tone,great job bro!

    Takamines are really great instruments!

  • JUSTIN! YOU'RE MY FAVORITE

  • Fantastic demo of this fantastic guitar. I really considering this 12-string for my next guitar. The way you play it almost me makes me certain that it's gonna be that one! Thanks! :-)

  • Thank you! you definately will not be disappointed with this guitar. it sounds very nice plugged in too. you can hear it (with only six strings) on my myspace account for the song 'forgive and forget'. good luck with your purchase if you do decide to get it!

  • forgive me, I deleted 'forgive and forget'. you can hear it on the Cohen cover 'Famous Blue Raincoat', only with six strings. amazing sound.

  • Nice sounding Takamine!

Great song choices for this demo, too!

  • thank you very much for the comment, i'm lovin' the guitar. lookin forward to hearin more of ur stuff as well.

  • yeah!!! men

  • What was the 3rd song you played?

  • Tangerine by Led Zeppelin, one of my favorite zeppelin songs

  • of course. i am just waiting for a battery pack to come in cuz i got this guitar from a friend, and it didn't have one. once i get the battery pack, i'll get a video up. thanks for the compliment.

  • Love this guitar! Can you make a video where you show it and demonstrate its functions? Maybe the preamp, and where where to put the plug. I'm planning to buy this. Cool playing :)
