  • The man's name is Mandala Baldwin "Nonoy" Garrucho. Founder of the Sundagan knife group. The style is mostly Pekiti Tirsia. Traditional Visayan Blade. He is a very long standing and high ranked member of Pekiti Tirsia Kali. One of Grand Tuhon Gaje's original "Dogeaters". He is the founder of this specific sub system, and when I studied PTK he was in many ways an inspiration, and someone to be feared if crossed.

  • @Pitboss306

    Well said!

  • @Pitboss306 I've been coming back to watch these vids 'cause I really enjoy observing his techniques. He's got a very raw style that appeals to me and reminds me of the guru I used to train with. I've been trying to find out his name so thanks for this insight - wish there were more videos than what is currently posted on him.

  • Couldn't agree more @ Pitboss306

  • Weapon based Filipino martial arts are almost always blade based. Sticks are executed with blade awareness and even most empty hand techniques are done with awareness of blade applications. Silat and dumog breaking techniques usually take for granted the attacker has a blade. Disarms, eye attacks, and tendon destruction are very common as COUNTER OFFENSE. Most loudmouths here would be seriously humbled if they ever got to train directly with Master Nonoy. That is if they could still walk away.

  • The guy in this video is his name master Nonoy ?

How do you know out of interest ?

    Thanks

  • this art is really meant to kill . this is deadly.. they teach how to break the neck, how to cut the throat fast ..

  • question to all watchers of this vid is kali/eskrima/arnis ground effective. I mean if your opponent is a big dude as in body builder strong and weighs about 200 pounds charges at you and knocks you to the ground and tries to pin you, is it effective and are you soon as dead or not?

  • the thing that makes kali so deadly is that its being used and that feedback is being brought back from those encounters, once a martial "art" loses that feedback it becomes less and less effective, kali is a martial discipline rather than an art

  • Sakit ng linti na!

  • It's true that Arnis, Kali, Escrima was designed for killing, but it is the practitioner's responsibility to evolve the practice to fit modern situations. You can look at these techniques and make them non-lethal. The grappling arts can kill too if you want them to. The one thing I see with most modern grappling is that it all goes out the window as soon as a knife is put into the equation.

  • this isnt for defence its for attack

  • If you're planning to learn this as self defence where your opponent is unharmed i tell you... don't. Kali was developed by tribesmen to kill, slaughter, and if merciful just maim their opponents. If you dont plan on hurting your opponents then take up grapplng arts. As for me I like escrima cause it can be merciless and why would i want to spare my opponent :D . This is a martial art that is true but unlike other martial arts this was not just made to defend once self, neigh it is the opposite.

  • I'm afraid that's quite wrong. Arnis, kali, escrima, whateve you call it, is an offensive art, true, but that doesn't mean it's meant to kill. No martial art was actually meant to kill, save for some (like fencing or krav maga).

  • That's wrong this art is really meant to kill. Cause escrima was taught and developed by natives to prepare and use in war. That's why the kris is the original weapon for this style and is full of offensive techniques so as to kill your opponent. A master of the doce pares killed his assailant by breaking his spinal cord. I forgot the masters name though. He was sent to jail even if it was self defense because his skills were classified as lethat weapons,

  • THIS WORKS PERFECTLY ON UNSUSPECTING VICTIMS. sorry but this filo boy has very slim arms easy to twist..... do this on an +80kg and everything works differently the knive is good though lol

  • even the strong arms will break if you apply heavy pressure on it.

    god damn it.

  • You don't concentrate on breaking the bones coz bones don't break easily as tendons and/or ligaments. You focus on dislocation coz ligaments and tendons tear when stressed, which are easier than breaking bones. Muscularity will not protect a stressed ligament/tendon when manipulated opposite of their designed movement of direction.

  • i just said the dude has skinny arms i never said anything about dislocating it LOL.. man im a bog boy but if i see a 30 kilo filo with a knife i still would be like Hey Buddy Cant we just have a beer? and some chicks>? :))

  • kuyaw..

  • LOVE this!

  • and you can put a hole in his kidney . . .

    Hahahahah That's cool!

  • wow super deadly..

  • awesome i love dodod`s clips need more dude^^

  • great stuff!!!!

  • Most of you guys who is talking crap to this teacher and I bet that none of you would last 5 seconds in a real knife fight against his students.Everyone has something to offer,Guru Dan and Leo Gaje aren't the only ones.

  • i wonder if they have some disarming techniques? this is rather interesting...

  • To asshole giansantiago: dis-arming is only in your imagination!! Its only happened in your mind!!!The filipino Martial Arts has no disarming, therefore if somebody claims that he or she is practicing FMA with disarming, then that art was adulterated and prostituted!!! You idiot!

  • haha dude did you really read my comment?? could you please look again isnt there a phrase "i wonder"?? man it just showed the level of your intelligence Mr. panningkoy, a guy with a low esteem, your level of comprehension is close to nothing.

P.S. your grammar is still fucked up.

  • tama si giansantiago, walang kwenta mga pinag sasabi mo, pinapahiya mo lang ung sarili mo bro, kala m alam ma na ang lahat ndi kapala practitioner ng martial arts mas nakakahiya yun...

  • @giansantiago eskrima, FMA --> @wikipedia/eskrima

disarming --> search for "kadena de mano" inayan escrima - youtube

  • @po1batugan Thanks/Salamat! though my Query is 3 years old I still appreciate the info.

  • Paningkoy is an asshole

  • This Knuckleballz has no balls!!!!!!!!!

  • MORE PLEASE!!!

  • Seriously AMAZING!! More!!

  • In kali we dont have black belts and sashes, we have Black and blue and red slashes "- Leo Gaje :)

  • in every strike theres a target, in every target theres a purpose, in every purpose there a reason

  • "The stick is round, the blade is flat" hehehe You must be a PTK brada , In blade we trust!

  • In Edge we cut,In Knife we thrust!!!!

  • Words, terminologies, writen or spoken- it does not matter. What matters is what we can do in actions and PTK has done , doing and will do more than words can say or be writen.

  • I agree with you!! The stick is round, the blade is flat...let kalitube124 make his choice!!!

  • Kudos, Tuhon! Mabuhay ka!!!

  • Carbon copy of Tuhon Gaje, pati accent. Pekiti all the way!

  • pekiti tirsia is not kali. is one third. please check it in the spanish word and it is not a filipino.

  • what the fuck are you talking about? why dont you ask grand tuhon yourself.

  • Correct!!! Thats means, the one that demonstrates is a good student of gaje!! In my observation, he does not only possesses the art and accent, he is also a filipino, a knifer and most of all an ilonggo!!!

  • No Comment! This guys are dangerous, since i cannot beat them, can i join them?
