Interesting to note that the power was still on to the burnt studio-ceiling lights were still lit!surely all power needs to be removed due to water, fire damage etc...??
Due to the fire, Channel 7 broadcast Eyewitness News from the newsroom's update desk, while Live with Regis and Kelly, whose set was also affected, shared a studio with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Starting with the 5:00 p.m. newscast on June 20, 2007, the station resumed Eyewitness News and Live... broadcasts from their main studios.
By 1am that morning, Channel 7 began to show the 10pm(pt) West Coast "feed" of "BROTHERS AND SISTERS", followed by a complete "WORLD NEWS NOW" broadcast {with a first hour repeat from 3:30-4:30am}, then the regularly scheduled "AMERICA THIS MORNING" until 5am.....
I think WABC was doing this too seriously, maybe because 'THEY SUCK.'
Second, WABC should of reconstruct the set. As you can see, the set had water damage from the sprinkler system but the only thing they did was replaced the back-drop. They said "the new HD set," meanwhile the set has been the same way for nearly 4 years. Second, they said HD because WNBC is in HD. lol
Overall, I think WNBC did a better job when they had a fire at 30 Rock in 1998.
This is how WABC did the news the night of the August 2003 blackout. They got alot of info on whats being done to the rebuilding of the studio. 7online is keeping us informed on the rebuilding of the studio.

For being in the number one news market in the country, WABC's graphics sure are cheap and small market-like.

When ABC7 was off the air, did they broadcast a test pattern, black screen, or technical difficulties slide?

They are doing some upgrades to their existing set. There are also talks of them building a new set, but it is unconfirmed at this point.

Oh come on, take a joke. They're just overhyping the fact their set got destroyed and acting like's the worse thing to happen in NY since 9/11.
