  • @0:16 face it, some campers are made cheaply. The pic is likely of the extraction after a rollover, but it's another example of some campers that peel apart to spill their guts.

It shows why some campers develop leaks. Campers are driven with combined relative and actual winds buffeting it, uneven surfaces stressing and flexing it. More than is asked of a house yet less well built than a car. Any wonder that while used much less often, some last significantly less time than a car or house.

  • Lol I live in Somerset, and caravans piss me off so much. Every bank holiday they flood down the M5 and crash into any static object they can find. Makes me wonder why they don't just take the train and stay in a bloody hotel!

  • justice done

  • i love to se an overturned caravan because theres nothing funier

  • That's not funny, you sicko.

  • What about Jamie Oliver getting kicked in the bollocks?

  • braniac

  • Rubbish

  • when the video gets two 0:21 thats a 1960s carlight caravan a rare sight these days

  • it is so funny lol

  • I have towed a caravan for years and it is rare to see an incident invloving a caravan, unlike incidents involving solo vehicles. Remember, caravans are travelling at a lower speed and are being towed with safety in mind.

  • For your information, I am 25. Your post is so ignorant. I don't even OWN a caravan or KNOW anyone who has one but they account for TWO- Yes, TWO percent of road accidents in the UK. That is less that motorcycles, cars, lorries, vans etc. Don't blame them for everything.

  • What proportion of vehicles are caravans? (let's assume 1 family in 10 has 'van. 2 cars per family. Cars are 50% of all vehicles. Lucky if its 2% of vehicles).

How many miles does the average caravan travel annually? (Many get taken out only once a year, or even less.)

Yet caravans are invloved in 1 in 50 of ALL accidents.

In terms of accidents per kilometre travelled, I'm pretty sure that caravans account for a disproportionately large number of accidents.

    And often invlove other vehicles

  • Your statistics are wrong. Are you a truck driver? Or are you one of those c*nting drivers that intimidates you on the motorway on some shitty Ford Mondeo?

  • I got the statistic from YOU (i.e. 2 percent of accidents).

I think the rest of the assumptions are sound. Many caravans very seldom even make it onto the road, being semi-permanently parked and jacked up as mobile homes, offices, etc. but still registered in case they have to be moved one day.

Based on the small total number of caravans relative to other vehicles and the limited amount of travelling they do, I still think their accident rate is surprisingly high.

  • and people dont need a license to pull these things!! even though they are classified as an articulated vehicle, most of the time they are being pulled by A:Grandma & Grandpa Kettle behind the wheel. B:towed by some freak of nature that has never towed anything in his/her life, and think they have the skills to get out on the open road doing 100kmph and drive like normal, in Australia, we (Truck Drivers) call these thing Wobblies, thats all they do, wobble all over the bloody road.

  • You ignorant fuck. Get a life

  • ignorant? looks like your the one pal, typical "Tuber" post comments that are degrading to other no morals, no brain power and no idea what your talking about.. very sad, i'd guess by your mindless post, your about 13 years old.. no surprise there

  • Wow, thats quite a stereotype you made up there my little trucking cobber. Hmmm, I wonder if you're a stereotypical trucker? 1.FAT and 40+ (thats a definate) 2. Inconsiderate prick who takes half an hour passing another truck that is going 0.0001 mph slower without giving a shit he is causing a tailback (another definate) 3.A freak of nature who only drives trucks cuz the size of the vehicle compensates for his small penis (propably).

  • hahaha wow your so wrong it actually shows your IQ, thats so sad, maybe if you actually get out on the road, you'll see what happens, try getting out of the city once in your life tool.

  • I can't believe your contempt for other road users. So, does your bias stretch to drivers of caravanettes, women drivers, drivers towing trailers, or is it just caravan towers you hold so much hatred for??

  • Just caravan towers, if you've ever been on a highway (thats the roads with no towns around them ;) ) you would of come across at least one of them. the only people that seem to reply are children, bleeding hearts, and caravan towers... lol i love it!!

  • I know you're Australian, but I didn't expect you to be THAT stupid. Are you honestly surprised that a video about caravans would attract views from caravan drivers?

I drive very regularly for my work - about 300 miles per day. I have never seen any troubles attributed to caravans. Statistics show that accidents involving caravans on UK roads accounts for just 2 %. Caravan drivers are usually extremely very careful. Unlike speeding Jeremy Clarkson wannabes like you.

  • So what?

  • It always makes me smile when I see a wrecked caravan. Having spent countless hours stuck behind these things, I'd like to see caravanning banned. The roads are congested enough without these selfish morons causing even more delays and frustration.

  • There are a lot of things slower on the roads than caravans, namely lorries and old people. I suppose you want them off the roads too? Selfish git!

  • LOL, man u r ignorant. i say we just ban u from the road, easier and better for every1 else! i think ur the selfish moron and many more ppl seem to agree. ur like those moron geo metro piece of crap guys who merge infront of semi's maybe 2 feet away and then complains the semi rear ended him

  • No Clarkson PLEASE !!! ...LOL

  • Jeremy Clarkson's gotta see this!

  • LOL! nice!
