  • That is a very nice rig. It looks like it's an IH Little Genius with MH shares and moldboards on it. I have a Massey plow that I use in our match with those type of bottoms on it. Very nice, indeed.

  • @TheFarmboy1959 Hi and thanks for your comments! The plow is all IH including moldboards & shares. We do have a set of adjustable MH coulters we would love to install for better crowning, but we can't find the hardware to adapt the skimmers. My father actually won a few competitions with the MH plow in the 50's. We've always considered the MH plow to be better than IH. Nevertheless, we wanted to have a matching antique plow and tractor for competition purposes.

    All the best!

  • wow! that the tractor you won with before. as a farmall owner and plow with it i would like to meat you in person.

Thanks for your kind remarks young man! The 2010 Dundas Plowing Match will be held in the last weekend of August here on Prince Edward Island, Canada. I don't expect my father will be plowing, but we hope to make the attempt. For the past year we have been rebuilding and reconfiguring the plow for competition better than ever! We'll keep you posted as the summer arrives! Thanks for writing!

  • Harley Sir,

When in 2009 will your match be?

If I can afford the fuel to make the trip, I would be honored to be there, to see it in person. All the best to you sir, and good luck.

  • Many thanks for your kind remarks. My father Harley likely won't be plowing again. He has become too weak to drive the old "H". Perhaps things will be better come summer. I am making loose plans to bring the "H" back to Dundas in 2009 for my own run at at victory, but it's too early to know if I can dedicate the time to do so.

It is nice to know that there are still people like you out there! May 2009 be good to you and yours!

  • I'm very sorry to hear that your father isn't feeling well. Please tell him that he will be in our thoughts and prayers to be feeling well soon. All the best to you and your family sir, and good luck with your plans to compete in the next plowing match.

    Take care, Todd.

  • Nice video and I hope he makes that come back.

  • Great video, great story, great people. I hope he can come back next year and win it. Those furrows looked clean and true to me.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Many thanks for your kind remarks! 2009 is the year for the comeback....we ran into plow issues this summer and couldn't overcome them in time for Dundas. All the best!
