@isse826 There are still EPD490 pea viners running, but we don't build new 490's. We only build new EPD538 pea viners, our newest model, which we introduced on the market in 2008.

The harvesting principle in short: the pods get distributed into the machine in to a big treshing drum with several rollers and beaters turning in opposite directions creating a rubbing action on to the pods. The pods get rubbed open, releasing the peas. The peas are filled with water, so the peas are actually quite strong. Off course we've created all kind of ways to minimize damage and loss, but that is a really technical story.

How does tha machine actually do the shelling without "mashing" the peas ?
