  • @submarinesunk thx for the info ^^

  • Is it like the Scifi movie? Are all the books rolled into one? I know LeGuin was disappointed at how it turned out, but is it worth seeing?

  • @aurielMoon it's not a very good film, but it's a much closer adaptation of LeGuin's work than that dreadful scifi live action TV movie. It's based on the Tehanu book I believe.

  • @snillocgromreturns yeah, I just watched it, and it was 20x better than scifi's. therru's song definitely was the highlight for me. I thought the villain's were too evil without explanation, but at least the main character wasn't a gary stu!

  • Terashima was responsible for creating this beautiful ost though ^^

  • I have dedicated an entire hard drive to the Studio Ghibli Collection Movies and their OSTs - it is a definite mark of my respect for Miyazaki and also Hisaishi - - - <3

  • I watched this movie yesterday and I love it.

  • where can i download this songg?? or can you send me the filee??? or can you post me a link or somethingg pleaseee i really love thiss songg need itttt!!!!!! =)

  • @blue1998able if you message me your email i'd be happy to email you the mp3 for it :)

  • @blue1998able

use keepvid.com.... just paste the link...

  • I'm glad this doesn't have any dislikes =]

  • What does Tabiji means in Japanease?

  • Very nice music and the movie is nice as well ^^

  • i dunno, their movies seem to be becoming increasingly wandering. I mean, they don't seem to make as much sense as they used to. Ponyo was like this. actually, they were kinda like that with Whisper of the Heart too. i still like them, i just wish they had made more sense.

  • this music piece is brilliant!!!!!!!

  • Hello, I didn't really understand what the movie was about, so wich book is best for learning the story and wich is best overall?

  • @Fikakillarna well it was a while since i read them all but i seem to remember that you'd have to read all of them to understand all of it, plus the story is quite a lot different from the books, but i'd have to say my favourite was probably Tehanu so i think it's the best (but it's the 4th book so i'd recommend reading the others first anyway) :)

  • @PhaserDude374 Thanks.

  • Once upon a time, humans and dragons were one...

  • The movie was decent to me, flaws and decent moments. Hayao didn't get along with Goro very well and didn't want Goro to direct it. Then Hayao unexpectantly went to see its premeire and wrote to Goro. "it was honest. It was good." That wasn't Hayao's final apology and expression of love for Goro. Goro's completion of a medicore (by Ghibil standards) film gave Hayao the strength to create again. Ponyo, for his son.

  • This music brought certain positive feeling to my head~

  • >This amkes me wanna see the movie again

  • i loved this movie <3

  • the only issues in this movie were ambiguity and pacing

  • this song is so beautiful! i want to see the movie really badly!

  • this movie has great music and beautiful art! but i just didnt get it. im going to see if reading the books will help me understand better.

  • @DestinyAnimeLover18 it can be hard to follow if you don't know the original story but i agree it's still an amazing movie :D

  • The ironic thing, to me, is that Studio Ghibli got where it is today by making original, groundbreaking movies. They were movies that "broke the mold". Yet over the years, they created their own mold through their success.

This movie isn't LIKE most of the Ghibli movies. It actually "broke the mold" in the way it was made, and the kinds of messages it sent. Because of that, people have been convincing themselves that it's inferior.

I think this movie is ON PAR, though it is different.

  • @Locke217

    Continuation: xP

There are obviously legitimate reasons why people wouldn't like this movie. It didn't make much effort to convey the principles or follow the books it was based on. The plot is also really bizarre at times. However, I still think this movie is a masterpiece in it's own right. And I DON'T think it's inferior to the other Ghibli films tbh. I like it the way it is. It has a style to it that some people don't, for some reason, see...

  • @Locke217

I'm blabbering. This is all just my opinion. I don't REALLY know anything, this is just based on my impression of the movie. I like all the Ghibli movies I've seen, and I've never quite understood why this one is considered one of the worst. Sure, the story is a bit jumbled up. But... I felt like that was the case for some of the other movies as well.

It depresses me that people have convinced Goro not to direct again -.-

  • @Locke217 I agree with your thinking that this movie has a different style. When I first saw this movie, I was expecting it to leave the same impression on me as all the other Ghibli's did. However, I soon realized that it had a completely different air about it and to be honest, it kind of shocked me in an exciting way. I eventually learned to love how fantastic and so incredibly different it was. I sincerely hope Goro will continue to direct more movies despite how people reacted to the movie.

  • The music in this movie blew me away, along with the beautiful landscapes. This song is absolutely and ultimately mind blowing.

  • This movie was so disappointing. It could have been great, but the pacing just ruined it. I want a re-cut!

  • @PawPants i know what you mean, the film is nothing at all like the book and could have been so much greater if they improved it a little :/

  • @PhaserDude374 I've never read the book. I should give it a try. I was under the impression, though, that it was trying to be too close to the book. There seemed to be a lot of discussion of world events that are left unexplained and meaningless in the context of the given plot. The time could have been spent in character building and exploring character relationships to make for a more impacting climax.

  • @PhaserDude374 Which book would that be exactly? I know Le Guin has written a lot, so I was just wondering if you knew which one(s) would best help me understand the movie.

  • @ItachiMoon17 well the film was actually based off the first 4 Earthsea books: A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, The Farthest Shore and Tehanu, although the story is different i seem to remember, but it may help you get a feel to the characters a bit more ^^

  • @PhaserDude374 Thank you very much!

  • @ItachiMoon17 no problem ^^

  • @PawPants GO WATCH TRANSFORMERS OR SOMETHING YOU SIMPLE MINDED BUFFOON!

  • @PawPants I agree, having read the original series, it seemed that the only similarities with the novel were the names. The characters were shallow and not even true to the book itself. Though the music was amazing.

  • @PawPants Give the guy a break...he live in his father's shadow and now he wants to break free...

  • ASHITAKA FTW

  • this song makes me feel really peaceful :)

  • I didn't really liked the movie but the theme song is just AWESOME!

  • I love this so much...

  • this film has more of a nicer art to it, which is my way of saying that Arren looks cuter than the other guys in the other studio ghibli films, although Howl is still hot!! XDD i sound so stupid right now....

  • @spottedwolfso No you dont , I love all the guys from Ghibli studios, Ashitaka, Haku and howl and of course arren <3

  • @DarkenedChaos101 ya marco from porco rosso is pretty handsome especially when he is a pig =P
