When a developer takes the time to actually build a multiconsole game on a PS3 from scratch, then there is almost no difference in graphics between PS3 and Xbox. Unfortunately, most developers are lazy and just port from Xbox to PS3.

The shadows/lighting and black levels on the 360 are definitely better. But graphics, physics, textures and colours? That mostly depends on the engine and the game, not really the console.

Also, just out of totally blatant curiosity: when did perfect graphics ever make a game better? I'm impressed by this, even blown away, but if the game sucks, what will it matter if the grass is really pretty?

The xbox 360 have in the most games a better graphics. Why because the company havent the time to use the ps3 cpu 100%. But Crysis2 has the time and he have make it. jones says the ps3 have a better graphics and run faster and better in crysis2 on the ps3. And Crysis 2 have the best graphics on the consoles if the Ps3 have better graphics on crysis2 can the ps3 have better graphics in all games than the xbox 360. go to google and write crysis2 ps3 better than xbox and you found many units.

Because PS3's CPU is more complex to code for as it runs on 1 core and uses 7 minicores (SPEs). Xbox 360's CPU is more PC orientated with its 3 cores so it's a lot easier to code for.

The developers that take their time understanding these Synergistic Processing Elements can optimize PS3's hardware better, CryTek is a skilled company, therefore they've took their time, instead of just simply porting the game over from different architecture, which is what Rockstar did.

Bad Company 2 - Runs better on better CPU, even while having a weaker GPU than the aforementioned

Crysis - Runs worse than the beforementioned - if the GPU of this PC's is better than the beforementioned.

Because of the Synergistic Processing Elements (minicores) of PS3 - it can do some graphical work with the processor itself (IBM style). Optimizing the hardware is most important.

It's not the system's fault, it's the developers' fault.

I'm not calling the X360 bad either, I'm just pointing out that they both have their pros and cons. PS3 is better - however more complex, but when the time has been used right - you know. *Looks at Uncharted 2 and the upcoming Uncharted 3* - the only games that've actually used 100% of the SPEs. Killzone 2 did about 50%.

The lighting on the 360 is better. The scene that they're showing is supposed to be dark. The 360 has better lighting because the scene is darker on 360 than it is on Ps3 where it has a high contrast. But why argue about consoles anyway? You just look like a faggot. I remember Quake 3 Arena on the Sega Dreamcast was cross platform multiplayer. DC players could play against PC players. Also i think Shadowrun on the 360 and PC is also a cross platform multiplayer game.

OnLive? It's internet based only. No Internet=No Gaming. And it runs on servers. Servers=Tend to crash. And yes this is possible with any server, it's a con for servers. And you have to subscribe monthly fees, along with renting and buying games. And if let's say, you unsubscibe or stop using OnLive, there goes your games. The concept is great, don't get me wrong, but it's easy to point out the possible and already current flaws in OnlIve. In my opinion though.

butcher bay was supposed to be remade for 360 and THEN they got the idea to make their bonus addon (dark athena) a full new game, but both still came out as one package.

the plan for crysis is a sequel on an altered version of the engine, pretty much like riddick, but there were never any plans for part 1 on consoles.

and half life 2 does not have a sequel, the episodes dont count (just addons!). orange box is a remake of original hl2 + 2 addons and stuff

metal gear "twin snakes" was a remake and the only mgs that came out on gamecube similar to the resident evil remakes that came out in 2003/04, long before the console got part 4 in 2005!

No the PS3 has something called the RSX graphics chip which is completely different from a 7800gtx although is said to be around the same power as the 7800gtx, the design is a lot smaller and they work in a very different way. The same with the 360 it is called the Zenos, a much smaller chip than a regular graphics card and a completely different design.

I hear console fanboys say multiplatform games on PC hardly look different from the consoles versions, not true. You can get a lot better framerates, speed, resolution, detail, etc. You have to pay more but you get more, so its all good and fair.

I wish more consoles games would come to the PC so I can play them at better settings and TRUE 1080P, not upscaled 1080P like on consoles.

no, the dude even told us how different they would look. he then proceeded to say that he would sync up all three systems, and then the video ended. if you look closely, the shadows on everything don't quite match. and the sun itself is beyond the horizon on the 360, while the sun is just showing on the ps3.

PS3 does have better graphics, but it's so minuscule that no one would notice while playing.
