Fez the red hat was not made in Fes ( The City) it's origine is Turkey.

It's only in the 30's that Moroccans start wearing the Red hat sometimes called Shashia.

Actually, you are right and wrong. Fez is the red hat BUT it is also the spelling of the city of Fes when you live in places like America. Though French and English use the same alphabet the sounds the letters make and the way they are used, especially when transcribing things from languages that do not use a Latin alphabet can be quite different. This is also why there are two spellings of Marrakesh/Marrakech.
