  • Six dislikes???? They probably don't like puppies or icecream either.

  • He sounds like the guy from The Green MIle(movie) The one that everybody hated...BUT DAMN I LOVE THIS GUYS MUSIC.

  • No matter how much time passes between hearing his songs Paul still hit that spot we all know so well.

  • This is an amazing CD/DVD and I agree with above! He is this generations John Prine, what a cool compararison even if John will always be the master, I think Paul is a close second. His words touch my heart like John Prine's do!

  • Paulk isn't a megastar because he rejects being pigeonholed as a "country artist" - like Steve Earle ...

  • This guys music and voice are awesome. He should be a lot more popular but mainstream radio doesn"t really care about talent only looks.

  • I can listen to this song over and over, its truly amazing how someone can wright such a wonderful song.

  • Paul is long over due for being a top rated star in the music industry, but your tops in our hearts man, keep it up Paul, they don't know what the hell their missing!

  • 4 People settled for the first girl that paid them any attention.

  • It's a funny song, but the man is really talented, thank you Paul for this song. It has helped me through a hard situation.

  • Wow!!! That's really all I can say.

  • They say a great writer is a great writer. Meaning, if you can write a great song you could write a great novel. To crowd all of the intriguing words into a pretty song is even harder than what is required to write a good novel. What a mind Paul must have. His songs are not only great music they are captivating stories. I haven't heard a bad one yet.

  • makes it easy to get over it ????

  • This song fits my situation perfectley. I thought my world was ending at the time but, I saw him in the store today and I tried to hide behind the check out stand.

  • Paul thorn has tiger blood, he's epic. lol....I love his style and sound. he has so much feeling. I loved his performance on the Rick Bubba Show. that's a great live video. if you have not seen it, you should look it up on you tube. thanks for uploading. I really enjoyed it. Peace...

  • I just stumbled over this video and I don't know squad about this guy. But I like his style!

  • @aggressivejhu - Checkout his song, "Things Left Undone" and many, many others are so much better then the crap lame-stream music puts out these days...oops I meant main-stream! Peace

  • Paul is a SUPERSTAR in my book. It don't get no better.

  • You can tell this man is doing what he loves, and we, his fans, love what he does.....I believe there should be a warning label on his songs...."Caution: Paul Thorn Music is highly Addictive"

  • paul damnn s son your one in millon son, lol tells the truth

  • paul damnn s son your one in millon son, lol tells the truth

  • this is a pretty damn good song writer we have on our hands here,to bad that trashville looks more at images and numbers instead of talent these days,if he would put on a blonde wig and shake his ass they would promote the hell out of him, anyway hellu'va song and hellu'va song writer.

  • His story telling reminds me of John Prine. There is not a better compliment.

  • i'm from Italy and I bought one of his cd on musicboulevard (one of the ancestor of Amazone) on the web in 1999 and I follow his steps during all this years... great singer and great guitar player.... all my compliments

  • his intro/stories crack me up n his songs knock me out..if u haven't seen him live - u need to do yourself a favor..

  • I was introduced to Paul last night as part of the Discovery Series at the Attucks Theater and he was such a treat! My husband and I are now avid fans. He has a fabulous voice, great band and ability to relate life's ordinary challenges in a funny/sad lyrical way. He is so comfortable on stage you begin to feel he's in your living room sharing his songs and unique life's experiences as he freely shares his life. I have always loved John Prine and this guy is right up with him.

  • God bless you Paul. This song has helped me through the last couple of days.

  • Awesome

  • I would love to see Paul in concert. This is a great SONG!

  • Great song.

  • Paul Thorn is to never be underestimated.Considering a lot of his repertoire, people may expect all of his songs to just be funny.I know I did. And, even in this song, some elements of it are little silly, but when he really gets into it, you realize that this is a truly heart-wrenching song.It puts the searing pain of losing that special love into simple words. He really is a great talent.

  • Warning, Paul Thorn music may become habit forming.

  • This is GOOD!!!

  • OK, I'm a fan now. My little one likes your songs too, I sure Hope he doesn't understand them yet but he surely laughs at all the right parts.

  • i have now heard this song over a thousand times it honestly just keeps getting better. everything about this song is good the writing the melody the voice and most importantly the meaning i have been telling everybody about paul thorn and i have said many times he is our genarations john prine. i hope the best for this man and his career he is a great story teller and that is something that is not found these days god bless you paul.

  • @defasabat456 Me too! I love this song. It's so simple but to the heart. I listen to it every day I'm on the computer. Great song writer!!!!

  • @radarlove007 thanks for writing. I know what you mean i find myself lost in this song just listening to it over and over again. And just in case you haven't heard it try his song "thats life" you can tell just by watching him how very powerful a song it is for him(and anyone who hears it) i am truly amazed at his talent. thanks again for the post.

  • This guy is hilarious. Listened to an interview on NPR and he had me rolling.

  • Wow! Where has this guy been? I think I have a new favorite country singer!

  • soryy it's the Rick and Bubba show "Even Heros Die"

  • check out Paul on Bob and Tom show "Even Hero's Die"

  • @blessedwithtongue Epic song....Check out the New

    CD...Pimps n Preachers. Fantastic 5 stars....

  • spread Paul Thorn's music

  • BYGOD!!!,Now thats what it's all about, some one told me once when i first began that a good song would stand up on it's own with nothing more than a guitar, here's the proof

  • um, could someone in Nashville remove heads from asses and get rid of all the Kenny Chesneys and Carrie Underwoods and replace them with this dude, I mean seriously-devastating talent

  • Sandy Sizemore where are you ?

  • Not only did I have Planet of the Apes sheet's, I ALSO had PoA dishes.

  • Going through a heartbreak right now, I am absolutely devastated, this song has helped a lot. Good singer X x

  • laughed so bad about the .."if u saw them at walmart..u'd duck to avoid talking to them".....i absolutely loved this song! so beautful!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw him in concert about 7 or 8 yrs ago, he opened for Rascal Flatts and Toby Keith...OMG, I laughed so hard...rushed out and bought his CD right there! FYI, he also sells painting that he does. My favorite songs are: Dogs in Heat; Joanie, the Jevhovah withness stripper. Great stuff

  • I keep gravitating back to this song. It's so true if you allow it to be. Time has a way.

  • Man alive, who didn't have a first love ?

  • never heard him before..i like him..like Zac Brown. i really like hearing honest country boys writting about simple things we all know a little about..doesnt seem to happen anymore...in it's place we got kenny and toby keith's fake bullcrap..and it's a shame..maybe Hank Jr. should start his own record label. lol

  • Very cool... very very cool.

  • Where is he from? His accent is very country.....: )

  • @MyTbradley tupelo,ms,he is a bad man!

  • Pauls one of the best story telling song writers out there today......i cant get enough

  • Agree he is great

  • This is a really pretty song.

  • I love the part about collapsing on his Planet of the Apes sheets. I had Batman sheets, but I think my mother thought the whole Planet of the Apes thing was silly, like Batman wasn't...plus Moses and Ben Hur cursing at apes was distressing I'm sure.

  • @bcoxscox I had football helmet sheets

  • Let love lift you and not crush you.

  • This song says is all "If i can get over her i can get over you" It's a song about promise and hope a call to the desperate and heart broken. Love can crush as well as lift. But life goes on!

  • Where the heck has this guy been?

  • this man is soo damm good why is he not on the radio more whats up?

  • @jsadams5966 Try KPIG or Wild West Radio.

  • because people don't know what good music is.96.1 the pig in memphis, search it they play an odd vareity, but they play him and alot of other great music, you can stream it online

  • ...still love it; just something endearing aout this song.

  • the album version sucks compared to this...

  • Oh, so true, Paul. "even though she [he] left scars on my heart, time has healed the wounds. If I can get over her [him], I can get over you." SO RIGHT!

Yes we get over those "past loves" .... part of life! Hope you tour. You're

    an inspiration.

  • My puppy love crush was a beautiful little girl from across the village where we lived. She had blonde hair and blue eyes. She broke my heart.I hadn't thought of her in ages 'til I watched this. Paul Thorn is a true Southern Original. He'w the best.

  • he went to school with my daddy. they pretty good friends.

  • nothin' but good, my my my

  • Such a fantastic song!

    Back for another listen!

    *****

  • I just don't understand why he isn't a mega-star.

  • Paul isn't a mega star because Nashville only likes pop-crap faggot music anymore. You have to dig deep into the alternative country world to find good music anymore.

  • Amen, brother!

  • If you like paul thorn, check out Robert Earl Keen. I just started listening to him.

  • @bigchevy80 you are correct sir, thats why some of us are calling it trashville instead of nashville nowadays.

  • @bigchevy80 - Amen to all you said here chevy! So true! I dig for stuff like this all the time....and always manage to find it! One day I'd like to be a promoter for people like Paul!

  • guys he is not from wisconsin who in the world said that is crazy. paul is awesome southern picker and singer just like me. ha ha!

  • He's from Tupelo, Mississippi.

  • Paul stated in an interview that he was born in Wisconsin but his family moved to Tupelo when he was an infant ... he could have been born on Mars for all I care, all that matters to me is that his musicianship is awesome.

  • i down home mississippi guy way to go paul keep following those dreams bro a long way from fighting for money and building furniture huh god blesss you

  • Wisconsin??????? NO,NO,NOOOOO! This boy is a rebel not a yank!!

  • Tupelo, Mississippi i do beleive!!!!

  • Where did he get that accent? Sounds southern (Louisiana?) but hes from Wisconsin?

    Good stuff though!

  • guys lets just agree that paul is souful and a great songwriter and singer and just a great dude!

  • I lived for a few years in Amory, MS... Had to drive about 15 minutes to buy beer in Nettleton, cuz that wasn't a dry county... I heard Paul Thorn on the radio and have been a fan ever since.

  • I love this one so much better than the original recording it's more soulful and closer to the heart.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • This guy is Awsome! Thanks for all the great tunes Paul.

  • Paul is absolutely amazing. I love this song too. 5/5. Thanks for posting!

  • love this dude

  • The man can sing. He can play that box, too.

Great, original, American music. Thanks for posting.

  • i wonder if hes gonna sing "whoop someones ass " next time hes on bob and tom?

oh wait thats all he ever sings

  • Then you obviously don't know Paul and his music very well...he has said, in many ways, that he regrets having written "It's a Great Day to Whoop Somebody's Ass", and in most venues, chooses not to play it. However, he does realize it's popularity and the success it broght him, and the band.

  • Paul thorns shows are always a musical treat!
