  • HI Joey. I just received the Voicetone Create XT today and have been playing with it. First I wanna say..what a great little tool. I do have a couple questions. I work in a high school and my kids are putting on a variety show..and some want to "hard tune" their live vocals for a Lil Wayne song.....what could you suggest as "settings" for this sound on the Create XT? Also. let's say I want to use preset 35..how do I get preset 35..as the digital readout only goes up to "9" when I am tapping

  • do you need to play guitar to hit different notes? or can you select a key and hit all the notes on the scale? (just the voice)

  • Can I plug it into a Harp(stringed) instead of a guitar?

  • @RideHanna Hiya, Wow - that's a new one :). As we've never tried this before with a VoiceLive 2 I can't guarantee results...however, I am guessing it would probably work.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • I really can't think of any song I know of that sounds better with auto tune. Can't wait until that goes extinct, like parachute pants.

  • Can you get this extreme autotune type sound on the voicetone correct? Thanks!

  • @soapboxracer182 Hiya, The VoiceTone Correct XT is more about subtle auto-chromatic pitch correction rather than using pitch correction as a noticeable and deliberate effect (hardtune). You might want to check out either the VoiceTone Synth or Single C1 for this type of effect if this is what you're after.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • Can you get this type of auto tune effect with the pitch knob turned all the way up on the voicetone correct? I've been looking for videos that demonstrate it, and i'll that i can find is that subtle pitch correction, but i would like it if it could do subtle and extreme! Thanks!

  • @soapboxracer182 Hiya, The VoiceTone Correct wasn't designed for "noticable" pitch correction. For the hard-tune effect, you should check out the VoiceTone Synth (which has a vocoder) or the Create XT.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon the voicetone create xt it shall be then. It comes with the A and B options so i can autotune the chorus and switch to a different verse setting i just found out. That's awesome, keep up the good work, and thanks for the prompt response! I'm excited to get one of those vt create xts now!

  • @soapboxracer182 Hiya, You're very welcome :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon hi :) i want this exact effect, exctly whitch pedal or pedals wer you using in this video, please get back to me man, or what would you suggest for the most realy autotune sounding effects

  • @133Afroman Hiya, In this video the guys were using the VoiceLive 2. For this kind of effect you could use either the VoiceLive 2, VoiceLive Touch, VoiceTone Create XT, VoiceTone C1 or if you want to have a vocoder also for some really "out there" sounds you could use the VoiceTone Synth. If it is just this effect you are after then I would start with either the Synth or C1, however, the VoiceLive 2 does give you every possible option except the vocoder.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon thanks, iv looked at a few more videos and im gonna get the voicetone synth, amazing pedals !

  • Thanks for the reply Joey. One more question, I've decided on the Voicelive 2, but before I buy, exactly how does it work? Do I have to run it through a PA system (which i don't have nor the funds to purchase), or can it be ran through my stereo keyboard amp? And also can I run it through my DAW software if I wanted to record? Thanks again

  • @lcbusa1300 Hiya again :), Basically you could run it through a PA, connect it to your DAW and probably run it through your keyboard amp (depending on what type it is). It would be worth reading through the manual which is downloadable for free via TC-Helicon's website as this has all the info you need and more! There is a whole section dedicated to "connecting the VoiceLive 2 to your computer" that starts on page 32.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • Okay so I want pitch correction and the harmony effect. Would i have to buy the harmony G XT and the voice correct serparately? Or is both the effects included on the Voicelive 2? Thanks

  • @lcbusa1300 Hiya, There is an update for Harmony-G XT that contains subtle chromatic pitch correction. However, if you need more flexibility with this then you would need the VoiceTone correct. Both effects are included on the VoiceLive 2 also. I'd suggest trying the Harmony-G XT as a first option at a store near you.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • Wait, didn't the Harmony G XT have the AutoTune download??

  • @brywool Hiya brywool, Yes. Pitch correction is downloadable for the Harmony-G XT. However, this is subtle pitch correction not the "hard tune" effect that is demonstrated in this video. The Harmony-G XT doesn't contain a vocoder like the VoiceTone Synth has.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon - Thanks for the reply Joey. One more question, on the pitch correction, if I use this with Bass, will it work, or does it have to be the guitar? Granted, I could probably drop the key signature in there, but if it changes key in the song, won't that not work? thanks.

  • @brywool Hiya, In regards tot he subtle auto-chromatic pitch correction (Harmony-G XT) this is not dependant on guitar or bass and will work fine without an instrument being plugged into the unit. As far as the VoiceTone Synth goes - I haven't tried using bass to track the hard-tune effect myself... let me double check that one and get back to you :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon Thanks Joey but I'm just interested in the XT right now. Auto chromatic deal would need to have the key entered into it, wouldn't it?

  • Can you get this effect possible on the GTX? If so how?

  • @pdxmusicteacher Hiya, I'm afraid not. However, you could pair your Harmony-G XT up with a VoiceTone Synth which would give you these kind of effects.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • Can this product also be used for pitch correction on instruments? (like auto-tune which works with lead instruments very well)

  • @intermediate007 Hiya, All of our products were specifically designed to work with the human voice. Whilst I cannot guarantee the results for use with other monophonic instruments - I have heard some really great feedback from many horn players using the harmony and effects on their instrument. Unfortunately, I haven't come across anyone who's tried out the auto-tune in this way though. If you do happen to try this and it works... I'd love to hear!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • this is just what i want!!!

  • awsome

  • cool pedal. The best pedal in this world is Tc helicon.I love to buy create xt. hello Madam you are putting on your weight... Chubby.. this guy has great voice.

  • Say, I like This! Especially the AutoTune!

  • keep it coming about create xt, i need to get this one soon.thanks, more reviews please!!

  • @mashmine Hiya, we've recently posted a few new videos on the Create XT - wink. There's always more videos on the way, glad you found this one helpful... appreciate the feedback!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • are you guys talking about the create xt? keep it coming i enjoyed you demo together?

  • what is this for a processor, that you use for sing?

  • ya but im not tryna spend like 7-1000

  • so , im not going to have to set any notes or scales, its all pre-set to all notes?

  • Hiya,

You'll need to either set the key or scale yourself or have an instrument input for it to follow :).

    Best,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • no way, thats sweet, which product is this though? also, i respect how fast you replied! i never expected to hear back from you until weeks later!

which one would you recommend for someone like me, who CAN sing but would prefer to be able to select the scale , incase i hit a wrong note live. iv spent the last 6 hours looking into the VT correct/create/synth and i cant figure out which one is best.

  • Hiya,

I'm pretty sure Tom is playing through the VoiceLive 2 on this video - but, they're really talking about the "Hard Tune" type effects (non subtle pitch correction, T-Pain/Cher etc). The VoiceLive 2 has a few of these effects, however the VoiceTone Synth is specifically made for these type of effects (and also has a vocoder which VL 2 doesn't have).

  • You can check out these products and also download the manuals from our website if you want to read up on them a bit.

As far as which product is best for your needs - if you are just after some subtle pitch correction without using it as an extreme deliberate effect (and taking into consideration your small budget) then I'd definitely go for the VoiceTone Correct.

    Hope I've managed to help!

Best wishes, Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Is it possible to get this effect with a VoiceWorksPlus?

  • I'm afraid not!

    Best,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • so when i buy voice tone synth what would i need to do it live i know i will need a mic but what type xlr ect and what type of spreakers would i need for live and could i set it to the key of a beat like g-major d-minor ect

  • Hiya,

To use the VoiceTone Synth live, you will need any good dynamic or condenser mic (the VoiceTone Synth has an XLR input). Something along the lines of a Shure SM58 / Blue Encore 100 / AKG D5 should sort you out nicely. You can set the key and type of scale using the Key button and Major / Minor buttons or you can use the instrument input also. For live use I would suggest a decent PA.

  • ok thanks

  • You can find loads of info about PA choice all over the net - however, the type and size you need will depend on the size of the venue etc. Hope this helps :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Hiya,

The VoiceLive 2 doesn't come with this actual preset, however, we have shared it on our blog as part of the article. Please check out the blog on the TC Helicon website for the download. It's also worth mentioning that the VoiceLive 2 comes with over 200 factory presets which are totally editable. I'd suggest trying one out at your local dealer to hear all of the different presets that come with the unit.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Does the Helicon come with this preset?

I'm thinking of saving for one...but I really want to know the presets, before I buy.
