I read his 'Check Out' in the back pages of the Transworld magazine a while back and it says that he skates a longboard cause when he was younger his 'regular' skateboard got stolen and he got his hands on a longboard. He didn't know there was any difference between longboarding and skateboarding so he just skated it as if it were a 'regular' skateboard. It was a long time ago so I could be wrong.
