  • This is Auretti's Dutch Skipper. Although, this is normally a lively, skipping dance... the musicians played it very slowly.

  • I was wondering if you knew the specific name of this regency dance?

  • It is difficult to get together a goodly sized group of musicians but I hope for all concerned that you may find a cello or surppent or Viola de Gamba to give the dancers and musicians the lower parts to follow that are so helpful at such a time . The bass lines guide and direct new dancers in the best of ways .. I mean this not as a conplaint or detrament of any kind but rather as encourgement for the best of balls !! Many thanks for the images given here. Your friend Guy

  • This is very similar in choreography to an Argentinian, Uruguayan and South Brazilian dance named "La media Caña" . I loved this video!

  • Only if you're insecure with your masculinity would you find it gay. Any man who stands up to do this sort of thing for his woman is far from gay. And trust me, the single guys who do this are smart because they get to choose from a host of beautiful girls to flirt with, and they get major play for being brave enough to do this. So if you think it's gay, so be it. You're just leaving more play for the real men.

  • Well using our language as closely as I can to the era, I hope everyone had a gay and,yes merry ball !!! I am very hopeful you did .. Yours in friendship, Guy
