  • You and your ads the beginning *shakes fists*

  • you are an excellent, excellent teacher; you make things very clear and you are very enthusiastic +1000

  • are you using a moker froger?

  • you need a better strap! :)

  • wow...not bad. like it. well explained

  • haha its funny cuz i have been trying to figure out a good funky rhythm with exactly what you said, low-high/high-low kinda deal. thanks for the inspiration man!

  • ..Yeah..very nice funk line and teaching...you know what you´re talking about^^

  • sounds like les claypool :D

  • "we're gonna slap the g-string... " lmao :P im not immature, i swear ;)

  • This is great!!! Nice breakdown! One step at a time. Very very helpful!!!

  • is there any chance for more cool funk lines to learn, or are you stopping at 9?

  • Awesome groove and well explained! Thanks so much

  • @douche: It's a major 10th (major third up an octave)

Nice funky line and badass Mutron sound. Maybe through some staccato variations, for example on the E-D (14-12) where you currently do a vertical vibrato. Then maybe an answering line after the first figure--walk up to to an A or similar.

    Nice instruction presentation!

  • Thanks man!! Excelent video :D

  • No problem! Glad it helped!

  • The sweet 13th...

A nice interval but hard to work into a piece.

Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side is a great example of it in use.

  • sweet thanks man

  • ehi!! What's the name of your effect??

  • its sort of a wah i think

  • ok tnk you :)

  • what program do you use to make the drum lines?

    thanks

  • i think he uses his korg pedal for the beat, check his forum for a review

  • I have been playing guitar for a while and I just recently picked up bass. Just wanted to say you have the best bass lessons on Youtube!

  • subscribed! i need to learn more funk

  • same bass flea used to have, music man something, its shit hott!

  • When he goes "oooeeyy" it reminds me of the hitcher

  • nice playing, awesome bass!

  • The white bootsy collins, not bad

  • great bassline! very creative.

  • love it

  • the bubbly sound at the start was amazing!

  • its a wah effect or something

    hahaha

sounds bubbly like good for a music video about washing clothes LOL

    hahahahaha

  • bubbly :)

  • wow he sounds kinda like Germain from flight of the conchords

  • i think he's english. still tho! i can see y u made me watch this!

  • I'm English guys, yea :)

  • yey england ftw =]

  • i know this is not a forum but could someone suggest where to go for learning funk?

  • i think d'man does speed

  • what would you suggest buying for an intermediate bass? Preferably around $700

  • it depends what style you like, intermediate basses range from about $600-$1100

  • I want something that's mostly funky slap an pop soundin but that can still do some rock and heavier stuff. So far I've just looked at some schecters and ibanezes an stuff

  • try out an ibanez 5 string, buy a fieldy replica if you have the money :)

  • Try a ibaneze GIO. Thier pretty nice. Good with slap and pop and you can do some heavy stuff.

  • thx guys ill check those out

  • that's cool :) i'm glad i came across this cool vid!

  • is your right hand just doing 16th notes on the slaps? sort of like your right hand would be doing in the jam along funk video on guitar? 1 e and a 2 e and a

  • i wish i could afford a decent bass.

  • i have a dean e09 and its pretty good i like it

    its $99 at guitar center

  • but it sounds nowhere near as amazing as a stingray

  • that dean is bad ass i had it for over 7 years

  • great lesson!!! thank you so much. I wish that i hadn't just bought a zoom b2. the pandora looks great. the b2 does not have usb capability. it's still a great pedal but not as nice as yours. :)

  • Wow really good! I have 1 question: What Bass Are You Playin'?

  • Thanks man! That there is an Ernieball Music man Stingray :)

  • Great job man, you're like my #1 influence on my bass playing. Me and my friend stayed up 'till 4:00 AM last night jamming to your other funk lines you've taught!

    Thanks a lot!! :D

  • Ha Ha! Glad you are enjoying them :)

  • your an amazing teacher. I think because of you I hope I'll pass my music GCSE..

  • Great Video man! I love your style!

  • What bass is that again :(??

  • I believe it's a MusicMan.
