Great video. Thanks. The box came with two filters, I thought they were just selling them in pairs until I saw your video. I would have only used one if I did not see your video.
Thanks, I have checked out 'the darien plan' and even joined drive the americans for additional enjoyable reading.
Returning to the Element Cabin Filters, which arrived yesterday; thanks to your wonderful video, my wife and I changed ours, which were loaded with Cleveland bugs & dirt; wished we had replaced the 2006 filters sooner, but plan on next change in a year. May not need it, but for $15, we want to see what a year's dust looks like. IMO, if you do not DIY, the $100 dealer chg. is fair.
Now, that I have watched a few more of you videos, with the Honda Element, I can understand where the dust may be coming from. You guys are having quite an adventure. Thanks for sharing south america with us. WOW, our Honda Element is some fine get-everywhere car. Take care, gary from Cleveland, OH
@15gary37 Thanks! Our trip is over now, but hopefully we'll take the Element for a more adventuresome spin again sometime in the next couple of years. You can check out our blog about our trip by googling 'the darien plan'
great video, esp. showing us the detail of the cabin filter. Looks like you live in an area where there is much dust. As far as Honda charing to do the work, that is OK with me. Dealers, and they do need to be there for us, can make a reasonable charge, and $20 buck seems fair. However, I do agree with you, that most of us Honda owners should change our own air and cabin filters. Honda could tell us in the Owners Manual HOW TO change the cabin filter, rather than saying "take it to Dealer"
Thank you. You did save me a good chunk of change. I'm at the dealership now and they asked me if i wanted them changed. They were going to charge me around $70 in total.
Great Video.....I would recommend to anyone going to Amazon.com, even with shipping ( as applicable ) cabin air filters are MUCH cheaper than purchasing them from a Car Dealer and your local/National Auto Store. I bought two Fram brand air filters that were around $12 ( after $3 rebate ) on the site...they work exactly the same as a Honda OEM Cabin Air Filter.
my dealer charges $99.95 plus tax just for cabin filter replacement.
I don't even know what they charge for the engine air filter.
I do all myself. Screw the dealer!!!
