I don't live in Winnipeg, but I like to adopt 2 cats this weekend from my local humane society. I went there this afternoon, and man those cats were just showing off their cute walk and talk. (Meow and purr). All of them were super friendly and sweet.

I am completely supportive of local animal adoption/shelters but not of these two huge frauds. I am so glad that there are people watching these "animal lovers".

My friend is a member of the local media in Winnipeg and she has worked DIRECTLY with the Humane Society in the past and has even brought me in to observe the inner workings of the agency and what they do on a day to day basis to maintain the health and welfare of abandoned, abused, and surrendered animals. I could NOT be more impressed with the love, care, and efforts put forth by the WHS

@fromash2ashes There are Humane Societies everywhere full of cats which might be put down if they can't find a home. Just pay for spaying and a vet bill and it's yours! They seriously do have events like this. We got our cat when there were 65 cats about to be put down as no one wanted them... Most, but not all were saved, but this ad might have saved more! Nice work Andy!

I adopted/rescued two kittens from the animal E.R. that I work for. Both were in good health and would have ended up at the Humane Society (not that bad of a deal for month old kittens). Next month they will turn 2 and they have taken over our lives. Can you say, "Five level cat-tree that stands over six feet tall"? I didn't think I could, but then I built one for my boys. Isn't it amazing what we will do for our fur-babies?

Many years ago I adopted a petite black beauty from the humane society that ended up being the best cat I ever had. A few months after she passed away, I went back to the HS and brought home a scraggly little boy who was full of affection and loves to be held. Thank you for making such a wonderful and optimistic commercial telling people of the wonderful finds one can get at their local shelter.
