mix perfectly..'Rock n Roll" never forgets..

  • awesome song, these guys will fit on my 60's amazing music playlist easily

  • i only discovered this last week and darkness darkness 12 months ago, 2 classic songs from anytime, AMAZING!!!!

  • @thesyd1975 How old are you? Just curious. :)

  • Nice but whats up with the Byrds?

  • love this song, awesome to get drunk and listen to this track even stoned

  • Is there a pre-Youngbloods version of this song by Jesse Colin Young? I seem to recall a version with not much more than acoustic guitar and Young's vocals.

  • Yeah,Its off his solo album onRCA "soul of a city boy" prior to the youngbloods..good memory

  • @Billrabatin Thanks for your reply; I'm never sure if I have a good memory or if I imagine things.

  • @macfatty you won' t ever read this but the lp is called The Soul of a City Boy. 1964. just jesse and all acoustic and I think his best work!!!!

  • @tsg7950 I did read this. Sometime after Billrabatin's reply, I actually found a copy of "Soul of a City Boy" on vinyl at a used record store in NYC. I also think it's Jesse's best work

  • Almost cannot believe I've found this classic number by The Youngbloods. ( I ♥ youtube! ) Just popped into my head on a rainy day here in San Francisco. Lots of memories. Thanks for posting.

  • This is cool!

  • Very moving song. Written by George "Robin" Remailly, author too of Euphoria. Young sings it so coolly. Corbitt's guitar playing subtly colors the lyrics. Then the solo breaks out into controlled chaos, with Young's bass line building tension as the band climaxes into the mournful last verse. Banana's piano too, so tasteful. This is what it means to be a band. Awesome, understated, underrated, song!

  • At 1:00, this video shows a picture of the Byrds, did this band have former Byrds members in it? or was that just a mix-up?

  • I LOVE the youngbloods. Theyre one of my favorite bands. It sucks tho that you cant find that much online about them

  • Like this song very much - it is so dark.

Love Jerry's guitar on this, too. Such an underrated player.
