It's confusing enough that there are such different understandings of the world in the general population. But to find incomprehensible language--figuratively or literally--in your own family really challenges your sense of self.
It's a relief to hear about someone else's struggle with this tension, and Rhee's seems a particularly difficult one. But to learn how she has pushed herself and her father to overcome it and to recapture closeness is a challenge to the rest of us.
