  • its $2,100.00 US..........

  • Mmm, that is total bullshit. A tablet computer big enough to fit a keyboard in it costs as much and it will be a touchscreen as well, and would be able to display porn anywhere. Besides, NO ONE but my grandmother looks at the damn keyboard thing when they work/type.

This shit will be good for retail stores. Where someone would push a labeled button to display a product or some stuff like that. But even there, touchscreens will be superior for the price.

  • bullshit! go and spend your money for starving children if you have too much...

nobody needs such a crap, no art designer, no photoshop user and no 3d programmer. all of these guys know what key to strike without looking on the keyboard.

it's (as always) the geeks with too much bucks who find excuses like "I'am a photoshop user, blahblah" to buy such a crap...

my advise to those guys: learn to use your software or perhaps visit a software training instead of buying such useless hardware...

  • @firefishable Well, thats them if they have to much money they can do whatever they like with it. I do agree with you they should feed starving children ,but thats them they will have they day coming just remember that. As the new ages is coming technolog is going to change and people want better things in this world like the new ipod or iphone i think its pointless its just phone that that you can touch and play games on it what phone doesn't do that? I have photoshop doesn't mean anything

  • This guy is a fucking LOSER.

I'd like to smash that keyboard over his head.

    (And stop saying "oh-lead" - its OH-L-E-D)

  • @pressrolls I don't get why people are so anal about saying Oh-lead. Sure LED isn't pronounced 'lead' but that doesn't make a difference.

Do you think AMOLED should be pronounced letter for letter as well?

  • @Touhou1990

Say the damn letters! Is it so difficult?!

I bet you are one of the idiots who pronouce Nintendo 'Super N-E-S' as "Super Ness'.

    Lame,... children.

  • @pressrolls What? My friends and I always called it the Super Nintendo.

  • wow wannabe nerd lol ps if i am going to get any thing oled its going to be a screen not a keyboard. besides is this $1500 keyboard really better then my $15? cuz i dont see it

  • 31 people agreed this is the biggest tech vagina walking the planet.

    5 people disliked his hair.

  • hes a bit dopey

  • why would i pay 1500 dollar just to input data. this dude acting like a 6 years old kid. -.-

  • $2400?? ill buy a new pc with that or maybe a 3d tv

  • why not have a full touchscreen the size of a keyboard and have software that can rearrange things anywhere you want, templates for different software with custom layed out macro keys... i'm sure they already have it somewhere

  • @skatechatham Funny you should say that because Art Levedbededhed (or whatever his name is) the same guy that invented the Optimus Maximus has done exactly what you described. It's called the Optimus Tactus...it's not available yet (probably still a concept) but it's pretty cool.

Let's hope it costs less than $1500, weighs less than a car and you can actually type properly on it. Unlike the Maximus...

  • overpriced

  • this guy isnt going to get laid now.

  • What geek looks at the keyboard when typing? ;)

  • I would if i had that keyboard :p

  • Ima tech geek two, but dang this guy even embareses me!!

  • @ElHomE for a tech geek I would have thought you would know how and when to use the spell check... Well it's been a year since you posted this, hopefully you've made progress.

  • @ElHomE I would have thought a tech geek would know when to use grammar and spell check... Ugh! Been a year since you've posted this, hopefully you've made some progress.

  • It's just like having a pencil with a dancing picture on it. It doesn't help you take tests any better or draw great pictures. It is what you do with it that matters. Just because a keyboard has pretty pictures on it, how does that make you product better output?

  • It's like wearing clean clothes over ratty, dirty clothes. They don't cover you up any better, but they sure look (and smell) better

  • Wow. The guy in this video just REEKS of perpetual virginity.

  • haha....yeah with those oversized keys it's going to be hard for him to type with one hand ;)

  • 1657.69 US$

  • wow, this guy just clapped.

  • omg so loud, no way, my apple keyboard are so wisper

  • who the hell says "oh lead" instead of "O.L.E.D."?

  • me for one

  • I've heard about this keyboard from ages. It's a nice idea but looks like a not too good "final product". First the price is a slap on our face. Second, the keyboard looks BULKY, third, certainly it need a power suply just for it. So, one more wire on desk. When they have a Bluetooth version like Apple Wireless Keyboard (never), it will be a nice product. The lack of animation is a "minus" too. Image animated riples when touch ? Or "keyboard saver" running. This would be nice!

  • you can animate it, you can play clips on each key or even spread out on all of them at once.

  • i've been following and waiting for this keyboard for around three years now can't believe it's finally here!! Shame about the price, will have to wait until it's available in the UK, and for less than £800-£900...

But i will be getting one. just you wait.

  • I bet the beta version of the maximus was the same only instead of LCD screens, they had CRTs Lol.

  • they are OLED not LCD

  • Great way for rich people to spend money!

  • This keyboard feels like crap when typing.. I also tried it 2008 CES. They keys feel like cheap square blocks and they are too close together. keep you money, you have been warned.

  • I've been waiting for this keyboard to come for the past two years now and it finally came out but it's way to much to pay for a fucking keyboard. You guys should check out their new prototype. It pwns this keyboard.

  • so much other stuff we can buy for $1500, im not rich enough to waste that much money to a keyboard, im not even looking at my keyboard very often ;o..

  • that would be SO cool to have. The only reason it is so expensive is because it is new. Wait till people become used to it and the price will drop to about £70

  • $120? Maybe in 2014. I imagine the lowest it'll go within the next two years is $500.

  • FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!....Faint Fall Down hit head hard coma wake up 20 yrs later buy one at 99c store..:)

  • damn nice comment XD yea!

  • now that was funny lol 99c store lol

  • it seems awesome, but the price is overkill for what you get

  • damn. Quite expensive. The most I'd spend for that keyboard would be about $200. But for $1500.... i would rather spend the money on gas.

  • one tank?

  • man this keyboard would pwn if i had it XD but the price is kinda okay 370 euros XD

  • Who's the first nerd that's going to make a light show video with this thing.

  • lol good point...i like my g15 nice lcd display that displays my temps in my pc and many other things that it would take some fiddling to make this thing do...though would be nice to have a reminder on my programable keys of what they all are cuz i sometimes forget =/

  • Preorder now: Optimus Maximus keyboard

    Starting at just 462 US$ (370 €)!

  • lol he is trying to convince someone? ^^

  • if you buy one, i'm gonna walk to your house, and slap you upside your head. i've been searchign everywhere to find out why it costs so much, whats the magic i provides? I found nothing remotely worth $1500. Unless of course it comes with its own monitor, storage, memory and you can load an OS on it. In which case It would be called a laptop.

  • lol :)

  • It costs so much, because each key is worth $10, so thats litterally $1,000 right there.

Add in the extra cost, of making each key spot, compatable with both OLED, and Basic plastic keys, a powersupply, and the software, and a decent profit margin Its quite obvious why it costs so much. Each key, is like a mini cell phone display. And if you know how large a pixel is, its 48x48 per key.

If the keyboard, has 110 keys, thats about 500x500 pixels...

  • It actually is (19keys x 48pixels width) x (6keys x 48pixels height) = 912x288!

  • I was talking about the total # of pixels, which I figured was 253,440 pixel^2, based on a 110 key, keyboard, the 114 key would be 262,656 pixels^2, either way, it doesn't matter.

  • my mind is completely blown...i think i feel my brain matter leaking out my ears. (i am not trying to make fun of you guys , its just you ladies and guys are very smart)

  • lol u can build a really nice pc for that money

  • Hey, I'll trade you my keyboard for your Alienware desktop. :D Win.

  • I love the fact it's emitting light. That way it's easier to see at night if you need to look for that special key combination.

  • I don't look to keyboard, i look to monitor.

  • unless you're learning to use a comlpex app that's most efficiently controlled by key shortcuts (like many 3d modellers, for instance)

  • c'mon, it's 1500. so it looks good, but ffs it's 1500 bucks and it's far from being revolutionary. it won't dramatically change the way you interact with you pc, it will just look a hell of a lot prettier but it won't look 1500 bucks prettier.

  • It sure will if you use a ton of creative apps like Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Motion, Shake, etc., etc. Each app has their own shortcut keys and this is the only keyboard I have ever seen that can keep up with all of them! Invaluable for the pro! Overkill for the consumer.

  • @technologyevangelist if your a real pro you would know all the shortcut keys you would need.

  • did it realy need to be about $1500?

i mean its just a bunch of oled keys, im sure a lot more work and manufacturing goes into a computer that costs $1500 lol.

  • A 46" LCD TV is around $1500 these days. I'll take the LCD instead of a cool keyboard

  • Russian designers - rulezZz! Good job))

  • This Keyboard is Orgasmic!!!!!!! O.O'

  • Awesome keyboard, I saw it a year or so ago. But it's WAY too expensive. I'll just stick to my Razer Tarantula.

  • Yeah true i think ill stick with my G15 generation2 untill the price lowers

  • You can upgrade the lower cost keyboards by adding oled keys later.

The keyboard he is using in the video is around $1,500.

  • lol try $500 dollars.

  • $499 is for the low-end "starter" keyboard which comes with only a few oled keys and the rest standard keys.

  • lol no it isnt. 500 is the only version.

  • lol you're wrong lol lol lol

  • And you are the Dorkus Maximus

  • HAHAHAHA its true... Its really cool. but.. useless for the price.

  • The current price for the keyboard according to the manufacturer's website is $462 USD and they will be shipping more some time during February.

  • good for pro software.

  • just curious why... just why would you spend 1 Thousand 5hundred dollars on a keyboard.... lol i dont know if you guys realize how outrageous that is...sooo u mean to tell me ur gunna spend that much money on something that is completely un necessary... where as a 25 dollar keyboard is just as good all u need is a mouse 2 do all the things it can do and or a nail file and a sharpie ... there you go congrats....

  • I didn't clap in the end, the booth goers did.

It's really not possible to get a good video of the keyboard, you simply have to see it in person. The keys can be seen from a very wide angle, everything is bright but not too bright... It is very well designed.

Right now it's a little over $1,500 USD and it will work on Mac, PC or Linux.

  • Just buy a load of different stickers and use different keyboards for different apps.

A keyboard with stickers for Photoshop and another for Quake etc..

  • LOL!!! i'll put POst-it on mine

  • do they only work for mac

  • It's a keyboard so it should work with a PC with the right input, probably USB. Now, if the software has been written yet for other platforms (Windows, Linux) I do not know. This is not the most informational video. The guy basically WANTS one badly....

  • je, i guess what will happend if i spill some coke or something els on it?

  • waste of electricity ?

  • Why are other video's about this board being taken down?

  • The reasons / comments are being taken down for this keyboard everywhere? Comments are being not allowed?

Can you say over $1,500 from what I've heard? For a keyboard?

And no video's actually showing what it does? I saw 3 video's, none showed any clear pictures at all of what this device can truly due.

So show us what it can do, let alone $1,500???

  • I dont get why you clapped at the end?

Its a great device, but unfortunately its overpriced for what it does - pity its not their fault though; the prices of OLED displays are still quite high and will be for some time until large OLED displays become mainstream.

  • This keyboard is perfect for MMORPG gamers.

world of warcraft players will love this thing.

  • Is that because they have so much money to burn? But seriously good for almost any application.

  • wow id take the money buy a nice laptop and im set

  • id rather take $1430 and build myself a nice computer and then buy the logitech g15 keyboard for $70

  • That will be awesome when it is not $1500.00

$30 is the most I would ever want to spend on a keyboard.

  • i bet you finished yourself off at least twice looking at this keyboard, and yeah that clap at the end was just wrong !
