  • shorts and bare feet is plain dumb.

  • I ve been in that area !

  • Dave has guts to cut open his arm...

  • @mycbscp3rsclan I hope they paid him extra to self-inflict a wound like that.

  • dave is a legend !!!!!

  • No doubt, Dave has bowling balls for testes. That's hardcore to an absolute.

  • These two are amazing. Freakin amazing

  • "Looks like you got some stuff ah?" replies "Yeah". Good shit Sherlock -_-

  • Pretty lucky to find a backpack. I walk in the bush often and never see that -_-

  • @ltshinta it was staged.

  • @ltshinta

It's a mock scenario. Pay attention to the first minute of each episode. They lay the framework for the reason they are out there.

  • whoever owns that rifle and that backpack is gonna be pissed when they get back

  • @TheFashionbugs Hopefully they watched this episode so that they can find a new rifle and backpack

  • I have a little crush on Cody Lundin. And I want to live near him when SHTF.

  • @Prepperita he kinda looks like that preacher that became a comedian that im pretty sure is dead now, dont know his name off hand

  • @Prepperita yeah cody is jacked and 1 smart cookie

  • dave doesnt have balls........he has watermeloons : )

  • @milotist hell yea! .. I'm sure they have medics on standby .. think of the liability .. ha

  • @Vazquez71 Of course they have medics standby, that's what the opening screen of each episode also states. ;)

  • badass

  • knock off version of Bear Grylls.......still decent though

  • @esskaydon Bear Grylls is a knock of version of Ray Mears. What ya gonna do

  • @MrDarkTides True say, I kinda regret saying that. After you watch all of the episodes, you see there is so much more knowledge involved.

  • @esskaydon It's all good man, Bear, Mears and these two characters, you're always learning and that' the important thing!

  • i wouldnt cut myself over a show.

  • @McCawley07 yeah but how about for a fat pay cheque?

  • like the show but self inflecting a wound on yourself is just plain stupid. It just makes survival that much more difficult.

  • Ok so if you dont find a muzzle loader gun in the woods with a backpack... what do you do?

  • @justis101 haha its just simulating hunters being in the wild and getting hurt. They're always different "scenarios". No gunpowder, then you gotta dress the wound a different way using cloth, herbs, etc etc.

  • is it risky though to burn the wound, like wouldnt veins or anything not work anymore?

  • @TheMonsterSkull not really, because bandaging the wound does the same thing, it will eventually clot naturally, lighting it up just speeds that up

  • dave is a beast

  • Emo survival tip of self reliance: Cut yourself only when you have powder as black as your heart

  • omfg I totally cringed while watching Dave cut wound himself AHH I COULD NEVER DO THAT, he's seriously strong and dedicated to showing everyone survival techniques.

  • DAVE!

    dave is CRAZY awesome

  • Wow Dave thats Hardcore right there!

  • Is it just me, or do any of you other YouTubers have a bit of a problem taking serioulsy a neo-hippie that refuses to wear shoes??!! I mean, I saw an episode of this where Cody even went barefoot with snow on the ground...WHAT THE FUCK??!! When at home, does the guy wipe his ass with toilet paper or does he use Spanish moss for that too??!!

  • is there gonna be a season 3

  • hes a marine ther bilt to ignore pain

  • @dokot09 actually he's an army sniper but he's still a bad ass

  • holy shit. dave u just went to number one on my hero scale.

  • These guys are great but for some reason Bear Grylls just seems to be the original survivor...

  • yeah

  • This is their only way of even standing a chance against bear grylls. By hurting themselves. Bear is still the best:D

  • @nickthetool21 um.. bear grylls has probably caused several deaths by now and many more to come by his unrealistic show.

his show is a perfect example of WHAT NEVER TO DO! you just like the show because it's flashy and fake. sorry but when i want to learn something about wilderness survival i don't want to learn it from someone who sprints through unknown territory, eats things and gets sick after taping the show, sleeps in a hotel at night and takes suicidal risks.

  • hey checkout my music channel :D

  • i have that same knife as cody

  • @jacehale5 Mora?

  • @survivealist yeah

  • @jacehale5 one of the best small knives thats actually cheap.

  • @survivealist yeah

  • @survivealist Mora is a brand of bushcraft knife

  • @msrowe88 yea I have the classic 2

  • I hope they are paying that dude well

  • badass

  • dave is emo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Like this show so much.. I go to the woods often, and they give so many tips that are really usefull. oh and yeah.. Its been already said.. DAVE'S GOT BALLS. Tnx for these @ChannelOfSurvival ya rule man :)

  • You got a point there!

  • I wonder is Dave thought of this when he did journal of the yurt.

  • Cut yourself, that takes some thoughts to do I think - impressiv!

  • @SuperHornet50

Considering what they payed for him to do it he made bank. Plus lets face it there was a full blown medical team behind them for this one for sure.

  • 09:10 - PORN HUB!

  • no dislikes.........EVERYBODY LIKES DUAL SURVIVAL!!!!!!!

  • This one fricking blew me away, Dave is out there, slashing and then cauterizing for a TV show?

geez, that put this show up on top of all the reality survival shows, regardless of the fact that the producers have barely a clue about the outdoors, these two make this show the best of its type.

  • I hope Dave got a bonus for all the extra drama. Jezzzz.... I mean if an instructor was teaching a class of Navy Seals about explosives..... should he blow himself up ?

  • holy fucking shit!man that hurts!

  • i felt like want to cry watching him do that just for the purpose of education..... a hearty hero

  • burning a wound close is only necessary if an artery is cut, otherwise it does more harm than good. stuff some lichen in it smear with pine sap, and bind on with some cordage.

  • situa-

  • If Dave has ballz, then my young emo years had WAY MOAR BALLZ! Pain is weakness leaving the body.

  • @willwork4liberty I think he has balls for closing the wound with EXPLOSIONS OMFG.

  • this is awesome dave is nuts!

  • dave is a emo! XD

  • lol why does the music sound like he just said ok guys im gonna go fucking kill myself, when all he said was im gonna cut my arm so it will bleed?

  • you are the best survivor teachers for me

  • i did the same thing dave did

  • minecraft:) but then w1ith balz

  • emo moment lol jk jk

  • these guys definitely have viking blood in them, they're beasts, dude's not even wearing shoes

  • I love this show! Thanks for the upload!

  • Wow, Dave being all emo. XD

  • people used to do that for snakebites also.

  • OH FUCK, how the hell can Dave cut himself like that, I could never cut my self, let alone then lighting it on fire. Dave you have massive balls.

  • @RabidMrDog Well,Dave is a brave man :) He did this to show us how we can help ourselves in a situation like this one...

  • @ChannelOfSurvival he did it to make money lol

  • @RabidMrDog It's called a big pay check, ever seen one? i think not.

  • @GlobalModders wow calm down

  • @RabidMrDog and I am sure you want to lick them too

  • @RabidMrDog its a emo XD

  • @RabidMrDog MASSSIVE BALLS

  • @RabidMrDog i would just count down from three and say FUck ALL HELL and then cut

  • @RabidMrDog Cutting yourself is the easy part!

  • @RabidMrDog pain olympics

  • @RabidMrDog dude, he just sliced through the skin, he is not allowed to cut himself so that it creates a fleshwound. Dont ge me wrong, its ballsy as fuck to cut yourself like that, it goes against every instinct he has. Just looks worse than it is.

  • holy frack all i can say he has a pair the size of an elephant WOW

  • fake.

  • I hope they are paying him well enough for that permanent scar he's going to have on his arm for the rest of his life.

  • Dave! No!!

  • its the look on Cody's face in 4.47 its the look of are you serious your going to cut yourself and put gunpowder in it then light it.

people watching this will actually think he cut his arm and used gun powder to stop the bleeding. its all t.v. still if you happened to be in that situation good thing to know

  • @shelladavis Well, Dave actually DID cut his arm. He has his own YT channel, where he posted a video going to a nurse to check up on the wound, it is not faked.

  • cody is a bitch.

  • @choochinbigtime420 Cody is not a bitch he's a pretty boy he doesn't want a permanent scars or possibly to lose that limb because an open wound in the wild Hello infection!

  • @MrMooseheadbeer he burnt it shut for educational purposes only

  • Great Uploads my kind of subject matter thanks a million even i have learned a lot from these guys ...Top Points To The ChannelOfSurvival... new subscriber here

  • I'd like to see these guys do the stampede trail from Into the Wild and show how chris mccandless could have made it back to civilization

  • a huge diffrence between 240p and 360p

  • Canterbury is pretty much Rambo in real life!

  • @NaxTactical to true my friend

  • @NaxTactical No no, Rambo is like Canterbury

  • These guys are bad ass!

  • note** he says, "we have the ABILITY to use black powder to cauterize the wound"...he also uses the term..."in an ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY situation"...so no this would not be a general way to treat a laceration on an overnight camping trip but in harsh conditions and and if you were ABLE to then this would be great knowledge to apply

  • He is using a Mora knife to cut himself.

  • tht cantebury dude is like snake from mgs

  • Cantebury could take Norris.

  • yeah, how about accidentally blinding yourself with a gunpowder explosion while trying to cauterize a wound? hahahah talk about compounding the problem.i agree on the knife method probably being more painful, but also safer. you can be sure more people will be equipped with a knife than will be with gunpowder..ahh but i guess it does make for good television..seriously though, i love the show. these guys are good at what they do,informative and it even gets a bit heartwarming at times hahaha

  • dave has antlers at 9:49.

  • @Generalfuck LOL yyhh he does :P

  • This is stupid... really...

  • Is this Dual Survival or Jackass?.

  • no machete for dave ?

  • Woah, man Dave is a machine

  • @69robert96

    you hacked copperfaggot

  • Shut up!!

  • @69robert96 Not sure if you replied to the wrong person or not, cause I have no clue who you are.

  • @69robert96 I have a life. A pretty enjoyable one. I'm a full-time student, a working actor making my way through the business, and a competent student of traditional martial arts. I have a family that loves me and many friends. I don't need to get a life, I already have one i like. I just have trouble abiding idiots.

  • Now I know how to start a fire without matches or a lighter.... all I need know is a blackpowder musket! :)

  • I have one major criticism here. To more accurately replicate the parameters set before them, they should have inflicted the wound immediately. A hunter injured during a fall wouldn't have the luxury of waiting until a fire is built to start losing blood. And the whole reason they did the self-inflicted injury was as an educational tool. I largely suspect the producers pushing the stupid fucking idea of "Wouldn't it be cool if we showed them using black powder to close a wound?!"

  • @Kihapiilani Shut up. No one cares about your criticism.

  • @testeez I always find it funny when people write posts like yours. No counter-point, no real thought put into it at all. The whole point of having comments is to write what you thought about a video. I still liked the video. I watch every episode of the show as a matter of fact. I just had one thing I didn't like about this episode, and I voiced it. In a very reasonable manner i might add. What you all need to do here is learn about a little concept called "critical thinking." Look it up.

  • @Kihapiilani The reason why they didnt inflict the wound immediatly is because Dave thought it up on the spot... Also, The point wasnt to mimic the setting of being injured in the wilderness without a fire. The purpose was to demonstrate the castration of a wound. Who gives a shit if they had fire before or not, the viewer still gets to see how it is done. For some odd reason, people get hung up on wanting the show to be more realistic, and wanting Cody and Dave to be in REAL danger. Its a show

  • @travman1987 Obviously it's a show. And the point of the show is to demonstrate to people what they can do if they find themselves in certain perilous circumstances. And I stand by my original statement. Someone injured while in the wilderness would not have the luxury of building the solution to the problem before the injury occured. Of course I don't want to put them in real danger. You obviously haven't seen my other posts. But that's why they have a crew out there with them. Just in case.

  • @travman1987 Oh, also, in regards to your "Dave thought it up on the spot idea." No he didn't. And even if he did, he obviously thought it up before they made a fire. And you're right, the point probably was more about the cauterization of the wound. My point is that it shouldn't have been. There are so many other, safer ways to stop the bleeding. The way it was done just tells me it wasn't their idea. It was some fucking producer who thought it'd look cool and pull in ratings.

  • @Kihapiilani For a real world application of this technique I can attest to is a restaurant kitchen. One slip with a knife in the height of service take an edge of a saute pan and seal it up. Insurance and unemployment isn't worth the time and effort it takes or just as easily be an illegal w/out papers. Cauterizing takes 30 sec. Happens more often than you will ever want to admit to yourself.

  • @Menuki Um, that's good to know. I'm perfectly aware that cauterization is a viable way to seal a wound. I never once said anything to the contrary, so I don't really know why you wrote that story...

  • @Kihapiilani yep. i hate to become a part of this month old discussion, but fuckit, thats what youtube is for..i guess...im with ya though. and all these people getting so angry at you over an intelligent comment.. i thought the same thing as i was watching the video. but its sad(though typical) that so many people have this fierce loyalty to to characters on a tv show, and that loyalty outweighs their ability to think critically in even the most basic sense.

  • @Generalfuck Thank you sir! It's good to know that at least someone out there understood my reasoning. I don't care so much about people agreeing with me, just that people understand how to really think about and disect a situation so that each person can make an intelligent opinion about it, a.k.a. critical thinking, with viable arguments and counter-arguments. At the end of the day, as long as that happens, it doesn't even matter if a consensus is reached or not!

  • @Kihapiilani yea i had to give some support. i was getting crap for my heretical views on cody's bare feet in one their cold climate episodes. so ive seen that a lot of these viewers accept everything these guys do, as being "the right way" or whatever..only because they dont,or cant, look at the situation from multiple perspectives..and i guess if they cut out that bit where dave gets swarmed by bees in D.R., people would think its perfectly safe and a good idea to reach into a fuckin bee hive.

  • @Kihapiilani also, they want to show one of the less common(and in a lot of ways, less practical) methods to stop a bleeding wound, so they use black powder? what an ultra specific scenario... how many people who get injured in the woods are going to have black powder? a more applicable method wouldve been heating up the knife and using that.

  • @Generalfuck lol I know right? At least the narrator does say in the beginning that there are hunters who like to sometimes hunt with black powder and other archaic hunting methods, so it does happen. But yea, heating up the knife to cauterize the wound would have been much safer, use less resources, and been a much more controllable process then having a fireball go off five inches from your face. Admittedly, it would also probably hurt more since you'd have to leave it on the skin longer.

  • uhdfhcg udeksrufdygvyiuertigcnmguvyertd cty

  • @Littlemountainguitar hjernjfnbdhvbfdg ugherubgrhgnrg :)

  • The look on Cody's face when Dave says he is gonna cut himself is priceless!

  • @tonyg0123 yah
