He was a trained architect who eventually became Minister of Armaments and kept (unfortunately) Germany in the war much longer than if he wasn't there. @eddietrumpet1 I'd much rather read something that matters. World War Two was long ago and it really doesn't matter at this point since most of the people involved are long since dead. Anyone still claiming it has significance is beating a dead horse for political reasons: nazis claiming they want a new third reich, communists claiming they need to spread their influence, jews claiming that land which belongs to others should be theirs. It's misused for gain just like 9-11 is.

They were internment camps. There's a big difference, as our goal wasn't to torture, starve, kill or use anyone for slave labor, but simply to keep them isolated and under a watchful eye. Of course, the morality of this can be debated, but facts must first be acknowledged.

Because the Asians and Africans "don't look like us", we tend to ignore it when something happens to them. We were more concerned about the genocide in Kosovo than we were about the worse one taking place in Darfur. It's not right, but it is what it is, and the reality is we can't intervene everywhere. We have to take our strategic interests into account and do what we can.
