    Please

    Sukh

    Thanx

  • Thanks! Nice demo and well explained, cheers!

  • Great video! Especially for a beginner like myself.

  • is it a good idea to take out door potraits with a filter?

and what filter do u recommand to be on the lens all the time, as protaction to the lens

  • @sharkman0616 A filter isn't really necessary for outdoor portraits. Some people put a UV or skylight filter on the lens all the time as protection, but some feel this lowers lens quality and increases risk of flare. A lens hood would also offer some protection.

  • so is it not possible to attach a filter onto a d3000?

  • @zmanKT Yes. The 18-55mm VR kit lens it comes with takes 52mm filters.

  • brilliant! great guide :) is it possible to screw in multiple round filters?

  • @xsiranthrax Yes but too many will degrade quality and could cause vignetting (dark corners in pics)

  • Very clear, concise and complete intro to filters. Excellent job!

  • your videos are great man, thanks!

  • For the ND grad filters: Do you have to buy different size lens adapter rings if you want to use multiple lenses? Not the holder that keeps the filters in place, but the ring that holds the "filter holder" onto the lens. lol

  • Awesome video!

  • Very helpful...thanks!

  • Can more than one filter be attached to the lens at once?

  • If you use a system with a holder you can.

  • cannnnn

  • Hi, can you recomend me a filter to soft skin on models, im starting shotting models and i know how to use light but dont like the skin appeareance

  • That's something I'd do in Photoshop since it gives you much more control over the amount of softness/blur you use.

  • the most comprehensive and informative video on this subject out there. Thank you so much. I would pay for this info.

  • does those holders fit in all types of lenses? or one kind of holders is for one type of lens in diameter?

  • you use special rings to attach the holder to your lenses. So you need one ring per diameter (i.e. one per lens).

  • Nice video

    I have two Q

What is the difference in CPL filter, and Polarizer Filter?

    And

Can UV filter affect quality of the picture if is used 100% time, indoor and outdoor

  • The uv don't affect the quality of the pictures ;)

  • Awesome! Thank you!

  • Why do you need a grad filter?

Could you not take 2 shots, one at the ground exposure then one at tha sky's exposure then merge them in Photoshop?

  • You could, but it takes about ten times as long and requires time spent on a computer with Photoshop (assuming you even have it). Isn't it easier to get it right in camera, in one shot? It takes seconds.

  • I shoot with a D300 and use a 14-24 for wideangle, but it has a built in hood so I can't attach a filter..... or do I have to get a square filter and handhold it in place?

  • That's the only way really, but it's not easy to do - holding the camera in one hand and the filter in the other -- unless you use a tripod to support the camera. Its best to use the larger square filters such as Lee Filters 100mm wide system to ensure they cover the full diameter of the lens with a bit of room to spare.

  • Excellent..

  • i would just hold my sheet filters for graduated or neutral density filters

  • Explains very well. Thank U

  • Awesome! Thank you!

  • very helpful video. thnx for making

  • Thanks!
