Bruce Broughton really needs to get more work! Most of the composers geting all the work right now don't really put the same heart and feel into their work. The only guys I really like right now are John Powel, Michael Giachino, and sometimes Hanz Zimmer but he can get really boring. I don't know why people aren't using Broughton, I think he would have done a lot better job on some of the movie that came out recently.

They really need to get him composing more movies, he's a very good composer and should be getting more work. He can compose in pretty much any style of music!

@toophunny This IS very good. Excellent in fact. But the 'finest western movie theme'? I think you are forgetting elmer Bernstein's The Magnificent 7.

@fmurphy55 Bernstein was prolific, and the Magnificent Seven theme is great, but to me the best musical scores provoke a strong emotional response. Each time I hear the Silverado theme I feel compelled to stop whatever I'm doing to listen. Too bad the other Bernstein never scored a Western -- THAT would have been something!

beatiful, rich sound.... tempo changes, ensemble wise... incredible... professionals are always the best to work with... the balance is perfect... things like gongs, chimes even the subtle basson and french horn parts are in perfect balance.
