This is one of the top 10 essential Ramones tunes, post Road to Ruin. People who say they sucked through the 80s and 90s know crap about music. Pleasant Dreams is a CLASSIC, and the rest of the albums all had at least a few great songs. Thats more than most ever accomplish. This record gets a bad rap. The stories of what happened while making it are crazy and funny, but Spector made them sound like something totally original, and he fetishized the greatest voice in rock history.
@thebatdad71 Amen Brother! I opened for the Ramones in 88' when I was only 18 with my punk band The Giant Burritos at a now defunct midsized club in San Diego called the Bachannal. Walked into the club as sun was setting thru the back door and Joey was sitting at the bar. They let us on their modest tour bus and we talked and had a great time with them. They were all very nice and cool of course. Dee Dee was a bit quiet, but Tommy and Joey were talkative. Monte was there as well. Epic night!
@thebatdad71 I agree man. I find myself unable to listen to their supposed hits like Blitszkrieg Bop, Sedated, Beat on the Brat.. I have come to appreciate these more lesser known songs much more. They are great.
Feedback blasting out my ears Makes me so high I love all the monitor men But why are they alive The van is making me crazy It's just like being in the navy Doomsday, doomsday's coming - 1981 But until things blow I'm gonna have some fun The bubble's going to explode Probably never live to get old
But I just wanna have some fun Probably won't see no money I just wanna have some fun Before they throw me in the sanitarium Feedback blasting out my ears Makes me so high I love all the monitor men But why are they alive Well Monte's making me crazy It's just like being in the navy
The song that it sounds like you're describing sounds like "Oh oh I love her so" from the album Leave Home...and it's here on youtube, posted by allramonesmusic.
