Thank goodness this kitten has someone to love her. Cats do this when they have been taken from their mothers too soon. The kitten is nursing on the carpet while kneading it. Kittens do this while nursing as it stimulates the mother's milk. You shouldn't let her suck on the carpet, tho. She might swallow fibers or inhale them and that's not good. Sweet and sad video but so happy to see the loving hand giving her little scratches behind the ears!
My cat of 18 years passed away last Saturday. That makes me want to hold and cuddle Baby Maui here that much more. And, here's a wish for Maui, and all of the cat owners, that they live as long and healthy as possible.

She didn't have sharp claws then, but after she got to be a year old and adult-sized, that could get painful! I never stop her, because she always has that "contented look" with relaxed eyes, and the "Purr Purr Purr Purr" going. She kneeded my Mom one night, and Mom cried, "Ahhh!! Tiger!!"
@bptjex Sounds like that cute Persian Kitten Peekaboo on the comic "Rose is Rose." Peekaboo has a little black spot on her forehead. Except, your kitten and Adam's kittens are short-haired, right? I love kittens.
I can picture her climbing up on your when you're in bed, going "Purr Purr Purr Purr." Not only is she a kneading cat, I'll bet that she's a very purry cat? Does she also walk around with her tail up in the air a lot?

Now, with some small gray pattern on her forehead, I think I can compare her to a cartoon kitten: Peekaboo from the "Rose is Rose" comic strip?
@adamsblueguitar Does she ever lie down on her back, looking like an otter? Does she rub your leg when you're getting the food ready for her? Does she wait on your bed before you're ready to hit the hay? And, if anybody in your family takes baths, does she like to sit and watch?

Even if you have to pee (like Forrest Gump, or the guy in Shel Silverstein's poem "Us") don't you kind of feel bad making a cute kitty cat move, when she looks so comfortable? The worst is when a pretty cat has her CHIN stretched out across your leg, and you have to make her move!
@adamsblueguitar As gorgeous and hot as your kitten is, that has to be quite a discomfort when she kneads you on your lower abdomen when you have to pee. Makes it harder to hold, I'm sure you get my drift. Our kitten does that to me too!
@adamsblueguitar Kind of on a tangent, but for us kitten lovers, try googling these two: "lolcats kitty loaf alert" and "lolcats mothership cat is not impressed." You'll love these! The latter looks like they can be the mother and sister of YOUR pretty cat!
I love cats, especially female cats! I love tabbies, but when I was young, I wanted a solid white female cat, and wanted to name her "Princess." Looks like Maui IS a Princess! Our cat kneaded me below the kneecaps when I was out of shape, I developed tendonitis, and couldn't play basketball for two weeks!

This is darling, nothing sad about it! Actually, cats of "Oriental" breeds such as the Siamese are known to do this into adulthood. My 3 yr. old still suckles on soft blankets. She wasn't weaned too early. I enjoy seeing happy pets in loving homes! :)
Any kitteh making biscuits is automatically adorable, but what makes this one extra cute is that the kitteh's face is totally buried in the carpet. Lol. There is actually a kitty shaped dent in the carpet.. Cracks me up! SO cute.

we don't know that at all. the mother may be just moments away and they video taped this lil girl as she fell asleep on the floor.
stop assuming the worst, it's sickening to see people ruin a good moment with reminders of bad things.
