  • What idiot lets them continue to play while under a tornado warning.

  • my teacher was working security there when it hit

  • Ha, I love the people who get up to leave when they heard that there was a tornado. :p

  • theres a tornado outside we beter LEAVE *sarcasam*

  • I like how at 0:09 before they say there is a torndao warning they all get up fast and walk leave

  • God wants us to pay attention to him. Look to me! Rapture may be soon. All signs of natural wonders must happen before rapture.

  • crunoskunko mofucker

  • 2:17 Screaming in the background...wow

  • tornado-GIMME DAT BAWL

    reff:uhhh.... NO!

    tornado-ORLY

    reff:YEA

tornado-fine ill scare trhe crap out of U!

  • Its a good thing this was ot

  • I live in California... I probably shouldn't be commenting, but I am anyways. That's crazy stuff there, I'm just glad there was horrible huge damage.

  • This is gotta to be the worst storm to hit Atlanta ever! One person dead, damage everywhere, and a long, miserable night...

  • This is God's punishment to all the white thrash who sucks dollars from NJ, CA, NY, MA, CT (five rich states putting more money into the Feds Treasury only to be sucked by gay bashing thrash like these people). Repent and start asking for forgiveness from gays and lesbians that you have insulted and killed in the past. May God hit you you with more and more death winds!

  • @xake19 OK, u are insinuating( yeah, southerners know big words) that all southerners are hate mongers. Maybe u should live in Atlanta for a little while. Most of the people in Atlanta these days are from those 5 states u fucking douchebag. Maybe u should learn some hospitality u fucking bitch. Plus, maybe u should have your house destroyed by a tornado and see how people down here were affected by the storms on April 27th. U have no right 2 put down people whose lives were destroyed. Go die fag

  • @xake19 How many political views and religions did you just blend together? And how much better are you for wishing death and destruction on anyone? An open-mind is supposed to rely on intelligence and understand the need to enlighten people, not play on stereotypes. BTW, Atlanta ranks No. 4 in cities with Fortune 500 cities within its borders, behind NYC, Houston and Dallas....to be clear, that's ahead of ANY city in NJ, CA, MA, and CT, and not behind any of them :))) R.I.P. the victim...

  • @irishcajun85 *Fortune 500 COMPANIES, mah bad ;)

  • @xake19 wow bitch. Looks like you didnt take your barney vitamins.

  • Oh wow, I think I would have literally panicked! That is a scary scene!

  • LOL I'd be getting out from under the swinging rafters

  • i remember that day clearly. Could have gone to the game that was to be played right after this one, and if I had, me and my friend would likely have been on the street heading for the Dome when the tornado struck. It's funny how, at the time you make it, you don't realize that you may have made a life-saving decision.

  • (WEATHER MAN)whats that? folks it is 4:45 back to college basket ball

  • was @ the game when this happened. the audio in the clip deosn't come close to doing it justice. everyone there was uneasy even after the game resumed.

  • LMAO dude said said at 144 i heard dome stadiums are the safest place to be, ol buddy in the back was scared " i hope your right" i mean i agree , i would hope so to lmoa!!!!

  • who won lol

  • I can only imagine what the people at the Greyhound station in downtown ATL were going thru that night, if you havent been to that station, its different from most stations, where the buses load outside in the middle of the street, and that street where buses park is nothing but a wind tunnel. I was in Aiken SC that weekend, and about a week later, we had a F1 come thru downtown Aiken

  • ROLL TIDE! haha not

  • Its the GEORGIA DOME, built tough!! Real tough!

  • I was watching this game. Notice it's in OT. Mykel Riley (sp?) #1 saved some lives this day. He hit a buzzer beater to tie the game. If this game ended in regulation, the Ga Dome would have emptied minutes before a tornado hit downtown Atlanta.

  • Tornado didn't like the fact that MSU was winning and said NO!

  • I just love to hear that sound. It sounds like a train coming through the area

  • at the end did you hear the announcers voice? it was like "Ladies and Gentlemen, we will .. blubbb.. .." like portal

  • @Nehuskerfan2 yah that was freaking crazy

  • conno132 - An F2 tornado ripped the roof off the school? it must of been pretty weak coz this was an F2 tornado and the stadium survived

Im glad i live in the uk, tornados are possible but -

    1.They are never severe

2.I have never seen a tornado in the 12 years i have lived in south hampshire

  • at the end it sounded like the tornado was on top

  • i juss watched storm stories and i forgot all about this and this was a wild night down there...i got relatives in atlanta and norcross.

  • Charging on the tornado penalty shot lol!

  • Comment removed

  • @gun101010 Nice call

  • Who was the player who hit that game-tying shot at the buzzer?

  • @Jeff051176 the tornado did

  • I was sitting on like the 4th row. I had absolutely no idea what happened until like 10 minutes after it passed over. Nobody did. It was a beautiful sunny day when we walked in the dome. I was scared out of my mind...

  • i wish i was there!

  • weren't there sirens, or did it come up to fast and they had no time to activate sirens?

  • @CHICKENNUGGETS1011 I don't believe Atlanta has (or had) sirens.

  • Man, that's freaky stuff. Glad everyone was okay.

  • Tornado was rated a EF2

  • thats a good point i never thought of that that may be true

  • In all seriousness, I found out that if the game DIDN'T go into overtime, thousands of people would've been in the street with the tornado right on top of them. Whoever made the game-tying shot may have saved thousands of lives.

  • sports chasears

  • i was ter

  • @MrBammy1 wat did you do when the tora=nado hit did you stay in the building was it a tornado

  • It's not a torando. It's an earthquake. lol

  • was that static @ about 1:50 caused by the storm?

  • the weird thing is that they didn't announce there was a Tornado Warning until there the storm itself passed nearby. People were wanting to run to their cars even though there was A TORNADO in downtown. Sportscasters would make storm chasing even more fun!

  • i wonder how many of their cars got destroyed

  • i love how they use the telestrator and analize it like its part of the game. LOL. go sports announcers go!

  • Seriously, it's hysterical.

Like they're analyzing a foul call or something.

  • jaja me too :-D

  • "were hearing some rumbling behind us"

Looks like God wasn't happy with that fail lol

  • I think they had a Thrashers game the night before, right? Phew. I'm so glad it wasn't that night, because I would've been outside walking to my car right around the time the tornado hit.

And this game was in overtime, wasn't it? If it hadn't had gone to overtime, those people would've met the same fate.

  • I could be wrong, but I was told by a friend that when you walk into the Dome, you're actually already on the main concourse level. If so, that would mean the field is actually below ground. The people on the lower level of seating would have been the safest, but there's a lot of concrete in the Dome.

  • I'm actually surprised it didn't take the Southern Company highrise down

  • The Falcons nest is round

No corners for the wind to grab ahold to and ripp off.

    It is safer

  • lol

  • it infact was a tornado

  • correct!

  • whoa, the basketball stadium must had been well built to withstand a tornado and the noise the tornado had made while it passed next to the stadium.

  • than you god for the protection that you had on the peopple in gorgia that night in the dome nobudy panicied everybudy was remaning calm

im glad your alive eli and con the devil dint win this time we all nead to pray everynight dont bhe scared to i pray everynight i know one time i was at work it got dark fast and it hailed thnkgod no tornado

  • lol "a dome is the safest place you can be during a tornado" "uh i hope you're right"

  • Wrost then 1992 one

  • gravy !

  • That would've sucked if that fell. Thankfully they are probably built for this kind of thing, so that saved a bunch of lives.

  • that is a nasty hole on the georgia dome wall.

  • Wow... Nasty.

  • "This is just my opinion but I think they should have the tournament in New Orleans next year."

(Hurricane Gustav hits New Orleans in Late August 2008.)

  • How bout in Orlando or Miami

  • That I don't know, just going to have to see how mother nature plays out.

  • whoa kinda scary doncha think

  • who won man

  • I think msu did i was watchin it

  • who won

  • Dude, I wish we could use sportscasters to broadcast twisters all the time.

  • God, I wonder why I didn't hear about that.

  • I live around the corner from the dome in a loft. I remember when the tornado hit, I heard a whoosh and then some wind and rain. I had NO IDEA that a tornado had glanced by my building. There was no damage at all in my building or on the street. Around the corner where the dome is, destruction. Riley's 3 pointer saved a lot of lives that night!

  • there was a tornado today in georgia it riped the roof of my school. f-2

  • I was there when this occured.

  • the tornado was about 150 yards from the Dome, if it would have taken a direct hit then it would have been much worse. The dome is only built to withstand wind to 80mph and the tornado was about 150mph

  • No, those stadiums are built to hold up against 200mph winds from what I understand.

  • Well tornadoes have had winds at 300 mph thank god this one wasnt one of em

  • With the 2:11 seconds to go in overtime of the game between Alabama and Miss. St. the game was immediately stopped after the fans and players heard a loud noise and saw the sides of the building being torn and debris falling onto the floor. Thankfully, #1 Mykal Riley had hit a huge three point basket to send the game into overtime keeping the fans safe inside the dome, and out of the tornado storms outside. That shot saved lives.

  • Amen to that

  • Amen

  • Man i remember when i heard about that tornado it was scary to hear

  • It was scary to be there, too! It hit right behind me.

  • That would be scary.

  • I would have freaked out if I was there!

  • Thank God that dome stayed togeather and the people didn't panic. That could have been very bad if the storm was stronger.

  • That bar that kept swinging back and forth had two camera men on it when we went for our high school game, good thing no one was up there, and i would like to say that the player who made the shot to go into overtime should be given some type of medal.

  • Those sportscasters deserve an award for keeping their cool under extreme conditions. I would imagine they are trained to expect fights, riots, and man-made disasters, but a tornado?

  • That wasnt extreme. If shit was falling on people then it would be extreme.

  • I WAS AT MY NANNA'S WHEN THAT HAPPENED

  • Sorry, chief. That's the sound of the video crapping out. I don't believe the Anti-Christ was present at the dome that evening. If he was, I sure hope he wasn't the hungry guy i bought peanuts for.

  • sorry, cheif i never said the anti-christ was present at the dome that evening i jus said their was a deep voice

  • theres only 3:40 in the vido dummy

  • How is that possible when the video is only 3:40? dumbass.

  • u know wat? have u ever herd of messing up? holy crap! dont go crazy

  • It only takes seconds, maybe a minute, for a tornado to pass a place

  • did u here that deep voice at the end listen

  • God was looking over us that day. If the game hadn't gone into overtime, fans would have been outside and there could have been numerous fatalities.

  • God was totally there..I can't believe it passed right by them.

  • @7inchesSoft Absolutely! He was gracious.

  • @7inchesSoft Except God doesn't exist.

  • @pwntinyoface, if God didn't exsist how on earth did you get on this earth? you coulden't just pop up and no big bang made you so you might want to consider he is real. if not for him you would not be on this earth and this earth wouden't be here. God was there, he made that shot go in to show how powerful he is and that he was showing mercy on everyone there. im praying for you.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of

God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

  • @dotdriver14 Except EVERYTHING you just said is wrong. We got on this Earth because of the EVOLUTION of life. Your scientific evidence that god does exists is next to nothing, yet we can observe, have observed evolution. Don't waste your mental capacity on praying for me, because if you are that closed minded about the matter you don't have the intelligence to be wasting on me.

Blah blah, bible quote, like that's any evidence. Watch, I can make something up too and say it's from god!

  • tat scary

  • just imagine if Bama didn't make that shot

  • hahahahaha

  • I hope you're not serious. If you think that tv station is satan's, you might was well not be on the internet, and you need to do a spell check on yourself. It's you kind of people that push others away from religion so go fuck a goat and say a couple of hail mary's because calling a bunch of people heathens and judging them like that sure as hell isn't going to get your bible thumping ass into heaven!

  • You're a fucking idiot.

  • What type of moss should I read about?

  • Look to of been scary, but thanks to God no one got hurt. i know for fact tonardos are something anyone would ever want to take their chances with, especially when you are @ a place like that. I am glad one got hurt. Kansas

  • this is comming from a duke fan way to go dawgs on their big sec win on sunday that was one of the coolest things i have seen in a long time

  • Well, rule # 1 in a game, expect the unexpected!

  • at 1:13 you can see insulation flying through the camera's view. that wouldve been scary. my pants would be pissed if i was there!

  • Man oh Man Talk about SCARY!!!! Thank God they were all ok

  • Thank God no one was hurt. Could you imagine what would have happened if the game was never tied and did not go into overtime. Many people would have been on the street when the tornado came through. That's a miracle.

  • Thats a good point. That would have been REALLY bad.

  • i must be stoned too cuz i heard the announcers voice get slower, also.

  • Did anybody else hear the announcer's voice get really slower and lower at the very end?

or am I just that stoned?

  • You're just that stoned.

  • no dude, ur not stoned!!...i heard that too...i even saw my dog talking to me...he said, he heard the announcer's voice too!...

  • no I heard that too

  • Im all MSU, but look at No.# 11 for MSU from 2:05~2:15, looking like hes about to S*** himself.

  • hahaha

  • Pay attention to the guy on the cat walk, casually going on with his bussiness.

  • was there n e one outside when this happened????

  • that was so much funn! haha but scary

  • hahahaha i was there when it happend!!!

    i was CRAZYYYYYY!!!!

  • wow, that's scary!

  • Does anyone out there believe that Adolfo Nicolas is the Antichrist?

  • HE COULD BE BRO

  • it didnt seem that bad...

    play ball!!!

  • Like I said, if a tornado was on a bee line for this game, why didn't some warn them? "someone is weather stupid!"

  • As a Georgia girl this has to be the worst tornado season I've ever experciened. Just yesterday afternoon we were driving past downtown atlanta and the rain got so bad that we could barely see and then huge sized hail began to fall luckily we were near a bridge and we, as well as those near bridges pulled over under the bridge and waited it out, but those that were stuck out in the hail were not so lucky. The hail was large enough to break windows and i read in the news that two people died.

  • Just letting you know that during a tornado, one of the worst places you could be in under a bridge.......

  • i know but it was my grandpa that was driving the car and we were waiting to see if the sirens would come on to see what to do next.

  • alright buddy... get over it...

  • the last 3 seconds when the commenter's voice slows down to a demonic growl. ahahahahaha

  • It was the Alabama fans that were cheering.

"Hey man! Got one of dem tornaydus! Must be the Bear! Earnhardt! Yapper!"

  • OMG

  • If you turn up the volume you can really hear all the rumbling and roaring it sounds like a freight train going by, characteristic of a tornado.

  • that was some tornado. but did u see hansburough from mississippi state? he just started 2 take off!

  • Just think of what would have happend if this was a Oklahoma F5 tornado...

  • Yeah these guys have not seen a tornado.

  • Good clip. I'm glad they cut out that idiot Dave Baker, one of the stupidest, slimiest slugs ever to step in front of a camera. He said the roar "must be from thunder". What an idiot.

Oh by the way. I was at a RR crossing today and it was amazing! It sounded JUST LIKE A TORNADO! So, which came first, the tornado or the freight train?

And, what would it sound like if you had a TORNADO HITTING A FREIGHT TRAIN?

Dave Baker sounds like a rusty wheel on a box car.

  • F-2. There would've been injuries but nothing catastrophic.

  • They said nothing even touched the ground.

  • What's so amazing about this incident is that by Alabama's player making the last second shot to send the game into overtime probably saved lives. If the game would have ended in regulation thousands of people would have been exiting the dome at the moment the tornado struck.

  • Last comment, why do women scream during this kinda stuff (answer, programmed theatrics)? If it isn't for the sake of sheer, authentic terror, why scream? How does that help anybody?

  • Pardon, DB555, was just assuming you were in that area.

American Southeast ,having lived there for years, my impression was that, for whatever reason, severe weather in that part of the country is among the hardest to predict. It's not easy to predict anywhere else, but in that part of the country it changes second to second. No tornadoes for years in my city then, outta the blue, 16 in one day. Easter weekend.

  • Strongest action's to the East. That stretch to your NW may descend far enough to clip ya though. Doesn't look like any more than hard rain at this point.

  • lmao there back on a tornado worning atm

  • "Many of our camera guys have been taken away from their positions because of this-"

How dare nature interfere with you! ;-)

Nearly miraculous nobody was hurt. Alter those conditions a few degrees in any direction (storm trajectory, intensity), boom, disaster.

Pretty historic footage here, a tornado actually hits, very nearly, a packed sports arena. An F-2 it was.
