this is a bloody mess too bad the american government are apprehensive to handle this situation with a firm hand becuase they make chunky deals behind closed doors with those banks.
If anyone here is having problems paying on a mortgage, they could file a common law lien on that property stating principal paid plus life experience value; this lien must be satisfied before foreclosure or a commercial lien can be put in place! Common Law Liens supersede commercial liens (thats statutory, security, or judicial) so your lien, in the form of an affidavit, stands as absolute until challenged point for point.
My sister in law lost her job so her husband contacted Countrywide and they lowered the loan from $1800/month to $800/month for 5 years and then it will then adjust to $1200 fixed for the rest of the loan. I know a couple that both lost their homes and Countrywide lowered the interest to 2% and the payment to $500/month so they are paying the mortgage out of unemployment benefits. Three million loans have been reworked but there are still loans adjusting higher through January 2012.
Assignats were paper money issued by the National Assembly in France during the French Revolution. The assignats were issued after the confiscation of church properties in 1790 because the government was bankrupt. The government thought that the financial problems could be solved by printing certificates representing the value of church properties. These church lands became known as biens nationaux. Assignats were used to successfully retire a significant portion of the national debt .
God forbid if Capitalism was allowed to do what its suppose to do and let the houses go into for closer and the banks go out of business. We'll all be spending the Amero instead of the dollar here in the next few years.
the banks are getting 5-6 months worth of trial payments under the Making Home Affordable program and then turn around and deny the borrower. It's a freakin joke. There will be a big wave of new foreclosures for sure this year because most of these trial mods are NOT getting approved.
Forgive all mortgage debt on primary residences and move on. Move on thereafter to restructuring our monetary system to be within the public domain rather than a private group of international monopolists. Our society will continue to slip into an abyss of unrest until we right this wrong. Behind every fortune is a forgotten crime...the Federal Reserve Act is the forgotten crime.
The banks foreclosing on homes, causing homelessness, broken families and the other negative externalities mentioned prior. The banks never had the money they loaned to begin with...they counterfeited it, magically created it via this fractional reserve fiat currency system they have sired.
..it's so frustrating to me to envision an obvious solution never discussed...debt forgiveness. We are trying to stabilize society here, not financial markets. All these forclosed homes have no caretaker, neighborhoods are turning into standing landfills, pets are being abandoned, utility companies are not recouping their capital investments, real estate taxes are not being paid to support police, fire and schools...because of the banks.
