I find it funny that people assume that "hard working" means successful or rich or high class etc......because that's not the way it is. Even someone making less than 30,000 grand a year can be a hard worker, and maybe someday move up the ladder and have to pay more taxes, but right now they are stuck there. Unless inherited money, most people start off making "a little" money, then hopefully someday making more. But I bet when you were making less than, your views were different.

You just answered your own question. In a direct democracy, it's "one man...one vote." No one cares where you live. That's irrelevant. Study the Switzerland model. What you're missing is the inefficiency in a representative democracy. We vote for people, not the issues. The electoral college only applies to electing people. We don't get to vote on the issues. That's the crime. This is a de facto aristocracy. Elitism ensues. Strip power from the elites and vote on the issues.
