  • I bought the e500 and it is pretty good. At first sight when getting it out of the boxes it looked a bit "toy"-ish ..I would lose the blue plastic- keep it black, but once set up the construction is excellent. The brain is good..good samples...not huge numbers, but I do find with gear that they give you 1000000 settings and you use 3. As per a previous Traps Drums post here - was expecting that the cymbals to be chokeable - they aren't...disappointing.

  • is it double bass compitible

  • Recently got this kit, I am having a problem with the hi hat not being recognised when hit with the snare simultaneously. Also, when connected to guitar hero over midi some of the symbols double hit, have you got a solution to these problems? Thanks.

  • The standard module for these kits is PANTS !! Get a roland v drums module and then you can add another crash and have FAR better sounds . That kit sounds bloody awful ! ....I want for a bottom of the range td-3 brain for mine and it sounds far far better . These are pretty decent to play though .

You can choke the cymbals if you upgrade to the roland brain too . Also the high hats are much better on the roland . Also the inputs on the roland brain are dual trigger so you can use rim and head

  • @lwrruk

    Thanks for the comment

The latest E500 module has a dual zone snare and toms, chokeable cymbals and two extra inputs, USB connectivity and SD card for sound files, release is in March 2011

  • @TrapsDrums wow , awesome i`m definately going to check that out . What is going to be thr retail on the module ?

  • @lwrruk

The best thing is to contact us on 01202 476027, we do have some stock now. Thanks

  • @TrapsDrums... it doesn't have chokeable cymbals though... Overall for the price point it's good, but this doesn't seem to be true.

  • how much is this \

    canadian

  • Can you choke the electronic cymbals? Does the snare have a three way trigger?

  • And cN u do rim shots?

  • no, u can't

  • Is the ride cymbal dual triggered?

  • no, is not

  • This is not e450

  • how is it not???

  • Can you use the kit with a different drum module, like a roland td-6 or something?

  • Hi there, if I buy the E400-NB do I have to buy a seperate brain or is there a way of plugging it directing to a MIDI input without a brain?

    Cool stuff

  • I have a session pro dd506 kit and TBH i think the sounds in the module are shit, if a bought the E450 MODULE would it make my kit sound like this, or is it down to the pads also, also my chokeable cymbals should work shouldn't they, anyone know.

  • Do you find the kick sounds a little synthetic or is that just the recording?

Would love to try one of these babys out, need a new kit for my studio and just doing a bit of home work.. nice playing by the way

  • I agree, these sound really artificial, especially the toms. Almost feels like some kind of bad 80's flashback. But then again, one of the points of getting an electronic kit is not sounding acoustic.

  • The only thing I feel lets this kit down is the high hat......but I'm gonna try and set mine up again see if I can't get it sounding better.

Thought it is ace and my first =]

  • can you add an extra cymbal to the kit?

  • The standard module doesn't allow this but the kit is available without a module and with extra parts like cymbals and drums

  • Nice playing.

Those are the largest bass drum and tom-toms I've ever seen. Can you do the rimshots and cymbal chokes on that kit?

  • I mean the largest electric bass drum and tom-toms.

  • The standard module doesn't have the capability, however the E500 drums are rimshot capable

  • would i be able to attach my double base pedel on this kit? iv already bought an electric drum set which wudnt let me do it cos the "sensor thingie" on the base was to small

  • Hi,yes you can. it is the sames size as a 20" bass

  • I was concerned with the sound of the heads too, but if you find the demo on 'Something for the weekend', they sound really quiet. I agree, better demos on here would help sales.

  • Hi, you ve done good job with your trapsdrums! Like 00guesswho00 asked, i 'd like to know if it s making any noise (in the off position). i bought a pearl drumkit in the summer and i put mesh heads on it, but its still making a lot of noise, but i think the E400 will not make any, because the drums r flat right? r the cymbals or the hi-hat making any noise because that is very important too.

Overall, this drumkit is more quiet than a roland or yamaha e-drumkit?

  • hi, i#i would say that the mesh heads are as quiet as any others, the kit is very quiet, we are sold out right now but are back in stock shortly.

  • could you show or could you tell me if the snare and toms are sensitive

  • Thanks for the prompt response - sorry if I came over a little strong, but I really like the look of your kits...and wish you'd do them proper audio justice - god now I'm ranting again!! as for me, dountlessly I'm buying one-when i see one of those demo vids, of course ;o)

  • lol, no worries, we need critiscm to improve, cheers. give us a call if you want to know more.

  • Been to-ing and fro-ing between the cheaper kits, thinking of saving for a Roly, but not being able to justify the expense, liking the sound and samples/brain of the Yamaha but the rubber pads and the stupid quarter cymbal thingies?-then I found the traps kit-GREAT! BUT ...if anyone from traps is listening....INVEST in some good UTUBE demo videos, with decent sound quality..its impossible to compare your drums for sound against others, all of which have FAR more convincing demo videos out there!!!

  • hi Kent, message received and understood, things have been too busy up until now but there are some on the way, thanks for taking the time to comment

  • im more interested in how much sound is created when i play it with earphones. Doesnt it make noise when the pedal hits the bassdrum? even a little sound?

  • Hi, it is mesh headed so is pretty quiet, quiter and better feel than pads. this kit is very popular. Thanks for your interest.

  • my mate wants an electric drum set. what should he buy

  • wow I have wanted some drums for ages now but we dont have the space or money for a proper kit at home. The E400 is a god send!!
