Did you get the first press of vinyl as well? I'm not sure if it's been pressed a second time, but the second disc on the first press has an off center hole so the second disc has some warble to it. It's like magically getting an old school album with warping premanufactured. The UK version is clear yellow and supposedly doesn't have this same defect. Also, this is my favorite track on the album.
I've read that the vinyl copies of this album are have much better sound quality. The new dynamic range compression they're using on CDs is distorting the songs, and losing the sonic detail. Look up "loudness war" on wikipedia. Did you record this with the computer mic? It would sound better if you plugged your phono out into the computer's line-in. Polderbits Sound Record works great when recording any format to a computer; it's only for windows though. If you have mac, use Audio Hijack Pro.
Hahaha yeah I'm quite familiar with the loudness war..When I got Metallica's Death Magnetic, I knew something was wrong with the way it sounded...so since then I've become somewhat of a sound freak lol.
I recorded it with my digital camera. After watching the video again, the sound didn't some out as well as I'd like. I have since set up my record player differently. I'll take a look at that software and re-post a better video.
I love messing with audio, video and other sorts of tech stuff. When me and the wife get a new house I'm going to set a room with my PC, audio and video junk. Hopefully it will look like a cross of something out of the Matrix and TV studio. lol
Do you buy the CD or MP3 in addition to the vinyl??? I've heard of people who have systems that allow them to record their records to computers so they can have sound portable....
i want one!

I ordered the CD long before I bought the vinyl...But the vinyl also comes with a CD, so now I have 1 vinyl and 2 CDs lol...
Yes, there is software you can obtain easily and a small preamp driver for the computer...I've gotta get that stuff still lol.
