Say I am filming something and then bring it super close to the camera will it focus pretty much straight away? It looked alright in your video. thanks in advance :)

@BillyTheAlienVideo No, it's fine. It has two settings: Wide and Telephofoto settings, as well as zoom for both of these settings. It takes around a second for autofocus to work, it's a good camera as HD is in pocket-cameras

Well, I've just bought one for myself. The only programme which plays back footage smoothly & flawless on my laptop is VLC with its own decoding stuff. What codec pack do you use?

@piofol I have K-Lite Codec Pack 6.0.4 FULL and i use Sony Vegas to also view/edit my footage.

is it just me or does anyone that has this camera...see a bit of a fish eye effect on this cameras output...im wondering if i should returm my xacti because i notice a slight fish eye effect on all my footage?

I looked at loads of example videos and tests on youtube of many cameras and thought it looked great but for some reason my videos look awful.

I'll download sony vegas and give that a try.

Just normal settings, HD. And i use Sony Vegas Progressive Scan 720p HD to edit and render out. I think it's a great little camera. Check out the video responses to this video for some more examples.

Highest possible class, the higher the faster the data write speed so. Either SD or SDHC, you can usually find SDHC's for cheaper.

Err like night vision? No it doesn't have anything like that, i filmed in a club though and it came out pretty good, check out my other videos.

I use Sony Vegas with project settings at standard 720p.

If I may answer you. I don't have a definitive answer because I don't know your software and all it's settings. But, it's all about the project size and the render size. Most editors will let you tell the software what size your video files are (Height & Width). You also need to know the size for the output render as well. I imagine you should set everything to 720x480. Email me to my JoeCubicle account here on YT for more questions.

Great looking video! I just bought this camera but everything I shoot (even with an ISO of 100) I get a lot of that nasty blue noise/grain!

Try the manual white balance before you shoot. Just go to white balance then scroll down to one touch, point the camera at something white and push set. This will give you the proper colour. Repeat when ever you shoot.

Hi. I filmed it all. It was going to be a 3 day video of a trip i took, but on the night of the first day i fell very ill and had to come home, so i never edited the stuff i made. I filmed on a boat, in a car and in the rain, was great. I will be using this camera pretty much every day when 2010 starts so ill have so many videos up then. If i get some free time between now and christmas i may edit the stuff i filmed before. Thanks for commenting.
