I love steffi, her smile, her grace, but know that kim clijsters has all of those qualities, too. they are two women, two athletes who seem well-balanced enough to know being human comes first -- and can laugh at themselves and the world around them.
You know what's really scary. The fact that even know, Graf is probably capable of challenging and even beating Clijsters. Clijsters won the US open last year, 4 months after this exhibition. That tells you something. Apart from the Williams sisters, the Belgiums and a a couple of the Russians, the women's game isn't very good or deep.
@davd1986 Yeah Steffi is like the best women tennis player that we've ever seen. But I've seen this match and it wasn't taken very seriously.. I don't think she could beat Clijsters now (even if Steffi would train). But I agree on the part that besides the Williams sisters, henin, clijsters (and maybe the russians) women tennis isn't that great. Steffi should defnitly beat the most of them.
I think so :) except for Serena and Venus who play otherworldly at wimbledon, I only see a handful player who could handle Graf on this surface even today.
yeah, its on BBC-1 now, repeated, after Roddick pulled out injured in the Queens semi today. It's good fun. I've never watched a repeated tennis match before.
I was watching this on the tennis channel today and the grass looks like a different color than in previous Wimbledons. It looks like a lime color, almost as if someone sprinkled green kool aid all over the court.
Nice to see this. Could be nice to see steffi, agassi and kim in a comeback this year!! Wimbledon is all about tradition and the spectators love to see them back!!

i watched this match just to see steffi hit her forehand again
she used to take-off sometimes
inside out corner to corner winners... ftw

:45 hahaha if the ball hit her without being able to react to it.. then we know agassi is still the best returner of all time...

Never seen Graf being so sweet. Like her.

6-4 clijsters wow! given that this lady is now in the us open finals, it says a lot about graf's ability to play on grass.
I think she would still make it to the QF at least if she entered wimbledon

Thanks a lot, Juju.
You are great to say that.

At this point, Steffi could still be top 20...and Kim will no doubt return to the top 5, no problem, if no injuries occur.

i dare to say that, if all matches include only ONE set, graf can still beat a great many WTA players nowadays...

I was there yesterday! The whole day was brilliant. Steffi and Andre can absolutely still hit it, and they hardly play anymore.
