@Mockingbird5150 In middle east spec.till 03 all land cruisers with a straight 6 4.5L comes with a part-time 4WD 98 and on the the 4.5 inline six still part-time 4wd till 03 and the V8 4.7L always come with full-time 4wd with center dff-lock and some comes with 5 speed MANUAL trany.

@chargin48 no theres a transmission nob to switch from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive so you economize some fuel.

If you pull the front drive shaft off and lock the center diff you have only rear wheel drive. You loose ABS though. You mileage will not increase. It is still a heavy ass truck and that's the problem. I drove ours like this for months when I had a bad pinion bearing if the front diff. I still got 10 mpg.

mines a 95 model i just brought a conversion kit to take it back to rear wheel drive put free wheeling hubs on the front and replace the viscious coupling with the new one that comes with the kit marks four wheel drive adaptors in australia do the kit very simple to install give more power and better fuel consumption to

@Cold11Fire sorry to break it to you but the 1fz-fte was a petrol inline 6 cylinder that replaced the 3f carby fed petrol they are the same setup as the diesel which was a 2h pre 1989 the 1hz or 1hdt (factory turboed 1hz) or 1hd-fte direct injection diesel which was introduced in 2000

The engine is a 4.5 Litre EFI 1fz-fe..these were the engines tht cam ein most of the landcruisers from 1991 to 1997..after tht the V6 landcruiser received an uprgraded version of the 1fz-fe while the top of the range V8 VXR land cruiser got an all new 4.7 Litre EFI 1uf-fe engine which produced more power..thns 4 the comment..plz rate my vidz n chck my chanel..

1993-1997 in the US. The FZJ80 continued on for many years outside the US, and the FJ-105 also had the FZJ80's power train (SAS + 1FZE) in other parts of the world with the same body as the FJ100 sold in the US after 98 (which is IFS + V8)

just a large turbo probably a T88 from Greddy or Trust. and then the internals replaced with performance ones i.e pistons etc.i would guess it also has a large intercooler n u know the usual turbo stuff.
