could do do a recodring of th version of galaga from the pacman and galaga class of 981 machine? Last week my brother and I were playing that version and I mannaged to smash the boss's tractor beam twice!
One curious port was on a compilation called "Arcade Classics", released by Namco/Philips for the ill-fated CD-i multimedia player/system/console/thing. The compilation, which also included "Ms Pac-Man" and "Galaxian", didn't use emulation and instead used re-coded ports. While the ports of "Ms Pac-Man" (with simultaneous two-player!) and "Galaxian" were pretty good, the port of "Galaxian" suffered from very flickery/jerky graphics.
My first Galaga game was at the arcade in the 80s... but I didn't really played it, a gamer was just frustrated to not be able to get back the captured ship and leave the machine... I just continued the game, but I wasn't good at all. My second Galaga game was one for the Commodore 64, very big pixels, so my guess was that some games may share the same name but not the look and feel.

@sygo7g Coleco made a Galaxian one, not Galaga.

Galaga for the NES was the first version of Galaga I played but my favorite version of all time is Galaga 90 for the TG-16.

I played it in my NES and loved it, my favorite game of this type. Very accurate port from arcade too
