  • Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater and David Bowie only names in the music industry who can at least reach the tail of Pink Floyd.

  • Just watch Bowie,s quick expression after he gets those first two words out. He is in heaven here

  • This is just fuckin ... don,t know.... just unbelievable... brilliant

  • I love Floyd, i like Bowie, but together its just not that good. You may hate on this comment as much you want but its my opinion.

  • Arnold Layne by Bowie And David Gilmour? what kind of insult is this?

  • Syd Barret..at your best, rest ever and easy.. and Bowie and Gilmour. it doesn't come better than that.

  • Who is the bass player? Love that Rickenbacker "plunka plunka plunka" sound!

  • @TheSRalston Guy Pratt, same guy who played on PULSE

  • @edgar1331 Is he? Didn´t recognized him (shame). Thanks!

  • where, when?? Ta uploader :)

  • Love that Wright solo, kinda reminds me a bit of the Doors keyboards on their debut album

  • Bonus! Floyd and Bowie at once. Not many peoply like early Floyd and Syd Barret but I think it was ace!

  • @aristotle358 Not many people liked early Floyd? I disagree. Syd Barrett was an icon in the late 60's London underground. How do you think they got well known in the first place? :)

  • excellent

  • How much would i have loved to have been there to see this

  • Arnold Layne and Ziggy Stardust were best friends and shared their underwear (panties). ROFL

  • Perfection. Bowie really had an affinity with syd somewhat because of the mental health issues within his own family.

  • bowie had a real affinity with syd. I think it was becuase of the mental illess in his own family he could relate.

  • My second favorite, other than the man.

  • richard wright = most creative musician ever.

  • Who better to fill Syd's shoes than Bowie? the only one who i can think of with a voice like that at all is Damon Albarn

  • I really think Rick Wright is great here, just listen to his solo !!!

  • I was there at The Royak Albert Hall. It was amazing as we knew Arnold was to be played but with Bowie? Well worth the money just 4 this and Comfortably Numb alone! Awesome!

  • Good God !!! When did this take place ????? FANTASTIC !!!! I never thought they'd ever do this song again without Syd !!!!!

  • Awesome song, and awesome performance by Bowie.

  • EXCELLENTISSIME Bowie Gilmour !! GENIALISSIME !!!

  • 33 guys are ubergay

  • if i were to have seen this i would have absolutely pissed myself, DAVID BOWIE DAVID GILMOUR AND RICK WRIGHT

  • i never notice how many other famous musicians he worked with... Pink floyd, queen mick jagger, iggy pop... list goes on

  • Syd barret y David Bowie eran musicos muy similares en sus inicios, me pregunto como seria la musica de Syd de haber continuado evolucionando hasta el dia de hoy... Seria mas grande que bowie?.

  • Would love to see Bowie and Gilmour perform 'Piper' in it's entirety.

  • ok bowie is great and syd is great stop fighting about it!!

  • Bowie can't even be compared to Syd. Bowie shouldn't be playing these classic songs.

  • @HostileApostile0311 With all due respect for Barret, Bowie is a much more significant artist. Maybe if Barret had not had a mental breakdown, he would have been in the same league, but I think not.

  • Arnold Layne by Bowie, David Gilmour and Rick Wright

  • richard wright is there too!!!!!

  • ''Why can't you SEE???'' (1:46)

  • David Bowie+Pink Floyd (o lo que queda de ellos) =10

  • Please correct the description: "Arnold Layne by Bowie, David Gilmour and Rick Wright"

  • @ConfusaCalavera to be particularly picky, it should be "Arnold Layne by Syd Barrett, Sung by Dowie, David Gilmour and Rick Wright" :)

  • Damn ! Goose Bumps!!

  • a nice pair indeed...

  • Bowie's voice is so WRONG for this song. He did much better with Comfortably Numb

  • cmon asshole this is just a jam.... o fcourse nbodody one can replce syd barret.... just enjoy the fuckin song!!!!

  • cmon ass hole nobody can't replace syd... just enjoy the fuckin song...

  • fuck!!! Brilliant!

  • fuck... that was not great singing..

  • El recuerdo vivo de Mister Syd Barrett, en la voz de otro mounstro como el señor David Bowie, y el homenaje de David Gilmore

  • I read that David gave his stepson Charlie that Tele hes playing. Ask for it back now I think David he dosent appreciate what you have done for him.

  • i havent stopped watching this since I found it months ago...after his heart attack and non-performing...he supports his son in his music and takes a back seat...god I miss him

  • @bighairbandgirl His son is not in the music business. He is a movie director and his debut was last year with the critically acclaimed "Moon".

  • JESUS what a show that must have been!

  • Barrett lyrics and Bowie, how can't that be awesome?

  • lol this is a song bowie would have fun singing too bahahaha

  • oh, this version is brilliant. bowie doing a floyd classic. oh, he gets it right. who are the 28 morons who didn't like this? beiber fans? they're stupid.

  • omg I didnt even know this happened...WTF was I???

  • bowie was the first pop star to comment on syds death!!! i love both guys!!

  • Wondered why he didn't record this instead of See Emily Play, but I reckon it was safe to do this performance with so many years between this and the 'cross dressing'. Of course now it is very satrical

  • that's so cool how david gilmour let david bowie on stage knowing full well he was a Barrett fan.

  • cheeky geezer , pulled it of very well. dont you think.

  • simplemente grandioso!! bowie y parte de pink floyd cantando al gran syd barret epiko sin ninguna duda!!

  • FANTASTICO!!! ....IL PIù GRANDE FAN DI SYD CHE CANTA UNO DEI SUOI PIù GRANDI SUCCESSI... QUASI MI COMMUOVO..........

  • po esses davids sao duca...

  • Is arnold just fantasy or is it any real history about the song? does anybody know?

  • @patrikrush

It seems to be a real history, 'bout someone who liked to be wearing panties in the backyards in those days

  • @patrikrush In Syds home town Cambridge, a piece appeared in the local newspaper, about a transvestite whom got caught stealing ladies underwear from washing lines. That's were the inspiration for the song came from. Of course being

45 yrs ago "They gave him time"

  • @emperorsdragon Somebofy tolf me that it was inspired by a man who watched Waters's mother ....

  • Is that the Earl's Court?

  • Bowie does it best.

  • two of the greats sharing the same stage

i feel privileged to have been there that night

  • wow, damn wow! LONG LIVE PINK FLOYD! DAVID, ROGER, NICK AND RICHARD, U ARE ALL GENIUSES

  • Albert Hall Arena....

  • David Bowie and Pink Floyd have always been almost united in a way. Go Art Rock

  • Richard Wright looks pretty enamored by Bowie, eh?

  • Grande

  • nice one

  • Génial !!! des GEANTS !!!

  • Great Great cover, NICE!!!

  • This song sounds like it was made for Bowie.

  • where was this preformed ?

  • @floydflupke Albert Hall

  • God Bless Richard Wright.... i don't know why it upsets me so much... the other day i was listening to Floyd and i couldn't help but think Damn it! Why'd you have to go and die you jerk? i mean that jokingly of course... just so sad

  • i love how it sounds like a place and not a person.

  • David Bowie is my favorite artist ever, I don't think I can actually express how much I love him. But Syd Barrett is right up there with him in my heart, so I gotta say I very much dislike this rendition of Arnold Layne.

This was one of Bowie's last live performances, I think he already shows here that he didn't have the same vigour and clear voice anymore. Since then, he nearly vanished from the public eye, and it seems he is not coming back.

  • @mchelo18 I don't agree with you. I think his voice is fine, but there is something strange and hollow with the sound here. I sure hope that he will return again, at least produce some new music, but I really doubt that he will undertake a major tour again. And who can blame him after almost dying from a heart attack at the end of his last tour.

  • Rick Wright rocking it out, miss ya buddy.

  • Bowie looks fucking fantastic for his age

  • This was just simply... fantastic! Such a great performance.

  • Just when I thought things couldnt get any better I see David Bowie performing with Pink Floyd. Cum all over!

  • They just don't make 'em like this anymore

  • Absolutely wonderful.

Pink Floyd is my favourite band, and Bowie one of my favourite musicians. Pure awesome.

  • He does so good in this song, I also love his singing in comfortably numb.

  • Bowie is a major Barrett fan.

  • @Adominae Who isn't a major Barrett fan :P

I absolutely love his solo work, more so then even his work in Piper at the Gate of Dawn, what a musical legend.

  • @Adominae you're absolutley right

  • @Adominae check out "see emily play " from bowie's " pin ups" album

  • Pink Floyd my favorite band and David Bowie my favorite singer. What a treat :)

  • @seamusXX12 Me too, thumbs up to you!

  • Arnold lAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYNE! fucking love bowie!

  • Omg. Bowie ons this song. Saying that as a true floyd fan. Damn. This is powerfull. Bowie's making a comeback soon.

  • R.I.P. RICK WAS AWESOME

  • @daverolo87 Gilmour very fittingly praised Wright as a magical musician and singer--unfairly in the back seat of the great Floyd, but perhaps comfortable there. He is missed greatly.

  • Takes two to know?

  • david bowie è grande ma syd è meglio

    W syd barret!!!!!!!

  • I think David Bowie singing Pink Floyd songs is a weird mix but something that was worth trying. I didn't like how he sung Comfortably Numb, but I think he does pretty well in that song.

  • @NuxlyStardust

Not that strange... Remember, Bowie did a great cover of "See Emily Play" on the album ,"Pin ups" in the early 70's . He's been a Pink Floyd Fan since their beginning.

  • Hey why doesn't he give props tp Rick? :(

  • Interested - 2 splendid Davids

  • Bowies last stand

  • Comment removed

  • Bowie is singing this song perfect, wasn't a very good idea to sing Comfortbly numb to.

  • yeah, i agree, but the fun floyd songs are good for bowie!

  • separately - amazing! together - i don't like. sorry

  • Wright was fantastic on keyboards, will sure miss him!

May I ask what year was this and what's the venue?

  • This version by 2x David and Wright is a diamond of modern music history - better than the original -

    see Wright's applause for DB....

  • I LOVE THIS rendition of Arnold Layne!! I think for far too long people considered it Syd's song, and so sort of "off limits", but all kinds of great songs live on. Bowie is the perfect vocalist for this tune! Love the harmonies too!

  • he had heart surgery in that period.

    try it then...

  • go away....

  • please shut up you idiot.... wash your mouth when you talk about david bowie, pink floyd or other great music performers

  • I may be wrong, but I suspect this idiot's (the idiot being Mr CrankCase08) problem is that he is a stupid homophobe.

  • ivankaramasov - What the fuck has homophobia got to do with it? You complete fukwit.

  • You tell me.

  • crank case08... shut up. There's no need to be offensive - if you're going to be spiteful there are plenty of other halfwits you can join on a different page

  • fatrob1711 - Offensive? Some of you idiots must be really weak in the head if you are so easily offended. Did the vigour of my statements shock you into breaking a nail? You stupid, limp-wristed poof.

  • No, I merely am, as a civilised human being, offended by the outrageous language that you put onto this page

  • listen "el bailongo de alcasotro" de El Sabalero

  • just a perfect song

  • this video makes me hate david bowie a little bit

  • so why did gilmour ask him?

  • Comment removed

  • This is awesome, I was suprised at how good David Bowe Sang but he still sucked when He sang "Comfortabley Numb"

  • Wonder where 'The Dolly Rockers' got the idea for their name?....(Syd, by any chance?)

  • bowie looks like ricky gervais here

  • little fat man who sold his soul?

  • Haha...Extras was hilarious.

  • cool

    remember good times

so much better pink floyd in the psychedelia

if someone want to listen a good prog rock listen "The Heights of Macchu Picchu" of Los Jaivas

  • The original with Sid Barrett was better, both the video and song.

  • in my opinion, the original band was better - I don't listen to anything Pink Floyd post-Syd's departure.. I can't believe they went from subversive psychedelia to mind numbing prog rock singing 'hey teacher, leave them kids alone'..Piper and Saucer is what Pink Floyd's about

  • you're damn right!

  • I like, but Syd put so much emotion into his voice when he sang it, it was amazing..not that bowie is worse then Barret but he could've put more emotion into his voice....

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Arnold Layne written about a grub who used to go around sniffing sheila's undies while they were hanging out to dry?

  • youre right

  • very good version, David Bowie is a master of music,i am Mariano Bs As Argentina!!
