I don't have a grudge at all, I was just joking. Honestly though, I don't really see this as a "bass" anymore. I'm not saying it's any less of an instrument, but seeing as its range is a lot higher, I don't really think it would be right to still call it a bass. Just my opinion however.

Not true. My second bass was a 6-string and I could play it fine. It IS harder to play yes but then so is a 4-string to someone who doesn't know how to play.

Anyone here wanting a 6-string bass, if you've been playing even a week and you feel like it's the one for you, go get it!

Now all I play is 6-string and due to that, can play any song by any band no probs.

Agreed. Also all you have to do is just push yourself and try to learn songs that are at limits of your playing. That way you can only get better at a song. Like I started learning Primus songs after a couple of months playing and I'm not that bad of a player. Still have alot of fine tuning to do but I'm getting better.

KongoXIIV, you are right for the most part.

The first 6-string bass I picked up was the Ibanez SR506. It was pretty easy to play, except I kept mistaking my B string for the E string, so I ended up playing everything a string below. Of course, that may have just an error on my part, but it may be something to get used to after a while.

I ordered a Schecter Stilletto Custom 6 just an hour ago, so i'm hoping that I can get used to it as easily as you make it seem. Man, I am stoked. Take care

I like it cause it gives me the option of shifting tunes into more playable positions then all over the place. Makes it easier for me since I have a bad pinky finger and I dont have to make wild stretches all the time.. Plus there fun to have the extended range.

umm, not so nice. It's such an easy song that is amazed me that there were some missed notes. Need to work on note consistency and timing a bit more, try a metronome. On the upside, that is a fantastic tone.
