does it effect how and when they spawn if they get put in a tank for the winter? the time they are in is from october till the end of april?

@wrkls97 not if you got a heater...spawning months only applies to outside ponds.you can spawn them anytine with artificial enviroment indoors regardless of the season outside

how do i know if my kois are ready to spawn? i have 3 koi, 1 is a butterfly koi i keep them in a 55 gallon tank, my kois are probably 1 yr old and 8 to 12 inchs

from what i've read, kois are ready to spwan around 4-5 years of age, plus i think the 55 gallon tank is a little too small for them. i use to have a 300 gallon tank with about 20 kois...and it seems as if they'll never get big....until i place them into a 1200 gallon tank and their length almost double.
