Because of extreme highs of radiation surrounding around the sun u can't! only when the sun is at full totality u can due to the levels of radiation decrease due to the new moon blocking the sun totally I would recommend u get eclipse glasses when an eclipse is in your current area or if u have old camera film u can use that too but only if you have many strips of film for more protection go to wikipedia if you want to get more details
