  • @chassidim888

Okay, you don't like them. If you want to say you don't like them, do so, but keep the stupid comments to yourself.

  • GREAT CLASSIC

  • ¡Impresionante!

  • Does anyone know what guitar he used on this? Bogle.

  • @GilmourRelic Mosrite model developed for them

  • They even have a daego drummer

  • the most corny bunch of untalented homos ever created.

  • These guys played at our high school-Corona del Mar- at just about the same time as this. They were 'on fire'. Quite inspirational.

  • Guitar-playing musicians!

  • Oh yah baby, this rocks!! Classic original surf rock!

  • It is the highest performance at time when it mentally and physically gets on.

1.2.3.4. of the performance in tokyo. It snchants it very much.

Thank you for a valuable image.

  • One of the tightest bands i've ever seen hands down ! ! !

  • kids these days know shit about REAL music!

  • Just mind blowing. This shows why RD Burman used to put VENTURES as his all time favorite. My father used to play a lot of Ventures music. Thank you very much baba for introducing me to such a wonderful band and their music.

Thank u very much for uploading this video.

    Ventures Rock \m/

  • I can give almost everything to live in these times :(((

  • No band could reach the performance level of THE VENTURES before or after.

  • The Ventures smoked. They could play as well as any fucking vocal rock band of their time, better than a number of them, and they kicked ass. The albums "Ventures In Space" (1963) "The Fabulous Ventures" (1964) and "Walk, Don't Run - Volume Two" (1964) are three in particular that feature some nasty playing, ensemble and soloing both, and Leon Russell on keyboards on a few tracks.

  • Real talent and tight as hell!

  • @mdofx Not Leon Taylor. That's Don Wilson, rhythm player. Still the rhythm player in the Ventures today.

  • These guys were in a league of their own.

  • the cleanest live that i ever seen

  • these guys are amazing...

  • @mdofx Leon Taylor

  • Awesome, I found a vinyl album of their greatest hits in perfect condition a few years ago. Loved it then and still enjoying it now!!!

  • metal came right out of surf rock for sure

  • @takinahud Surf music, The Beatles, Jazz, Blues, Classic muisc, Barroque music...

  • year of my birth, sound of a generation

  • Where has all the class gone today.

  • The reverb is classic, unlike todays reverb I have a fender super champ and the reverb still isnt as awesome as this. YEA Surf rock!!!

  • @RockabillyBlues85

I suggest going on craiglist and finding yourself a Fender Twin Reverb. It'll set you back about 700. You can't beat it!

  • @MalchikBlue I have a 65 black face Super Reverb that has tone you can't even imagine.

  • surf rock is good rock

  • Mel Taylor... probably my favorite drummer in all of music. absolutely fantastic!

  • This is awesome!

  • Mosrite's rule.

  • @Leighbo1 I know. Great sound. Johnny Cummings knew this as well.

  • we went from this to listening to "Alejandro, Alejandro, Alejandro, Alejandro, Alejandro, Alejandro, Alejandro..."

No wonder this country is going down the tubes

  • The ventures didn't know that they were playing such great music.

  • 若い頃の方がテンポが速く演奏して音の切れもいいです。

  • i just noticed that the drums have a single mic on them out in front, and yet they sound amazing. exclamation point.

  • @TIME88551 yeah but it is noticable at 2:00 in the crescendo. it was only a bit more than a decade before then when entire bands were still recording into one mic in one take. if it weren't for les paul, bands probably would have done for alot longer.

  • The Ventures are so insanely good. I can thank my [old school longboarder] father for exposing me to their music. When I was a kid, The Ventures played a gig at a local pub - I rode up to the gig on my skateboard, but couldn't get in the door as I was to young to enter the pub! Instead, I climbed up the outside of the building and sat with an ear to an open window for the duration of the evening. I think I had a better seat than anyone in the house!

  • for the uninitiated, those are Mosrite guitars.

yeah, they were THE guitar gods of their time.

  • @ wildbill - the Japanese crowd weren't allowed to stand and could only clap between songs.

The Ventures are absolutely on fire! I don't think they get near enough respect as players. I really see some of their stuff in the same league as Don Rich and the stuff Buck Owens and the Buckaroos were doing. The majority of the other 'surf bands' weren't nearly as technically capable.

    VIVA LA VENTURES!!!

  • This guitar sound is amazingly modern. Oddly enough they do not use tons of reverb...With good results !

  • yeah most of the reverb is coming from the room

  • Mosrites are amazing guitars.

  • that's where they copied to make the pulp fiction soundtrack

those guys are amazing. top musicians, nice look and still an incredible garage sound

    nice i discovered them

  • Comment removed

  • I love me some beach music woo hoo

  • Simplemente FABULOSOS,recuerdos de mi infancia en mi pais El Salvador. Que anos.

  • the sound on this is fuckin amazing- sounds like it was recorded yesterday- are you sure this is real? matches video though............

  • Diamond Head was written by Dan Hamilton

  • el mejor baterista de la epoca!!!

  • すばらしい

  • LOS PUTOS AMOS...

  • Haha, the drummer is so chill!

  • With all this energy I'm surprised the Japanese weren't dancing in the aisles.

  • @wildbilltexas maybe they weren't there for enjoyment. Maybe they were there on business. You know, to study and duplicate the sound and instruments and it's possible they were taking note. Yamaha does make nice instruments.

  • That may be true, the Ventures kicked off a huge guitar band boom there.

Yamaha in the mid 60's did make a guitar (now called the SVG-300) that was inspired by the Mosrites the Ventures played.

  • Really, cool. Thanks for the info. BTW the Ventures did put on an incredible show in the above video. Energy is key. I like watching Billy Preston exploding on stage, it's addicting and you can't control your fingers or toes- cause it's real rock n roll.

  • Great!

  • simplemente inigualable

  • es lo maximo en instrumental -lejos

  • fue le grupo instrumental mas grande del mundo

  • GENIAL !!

  • Z Mcleoud is my guitar teacher

  • RIP Bob Bogle. :(

  • Hell yeah!

  • Class act! These guys aren't punky kids. They are serious musicians.

  • I did not know that was THEIR track. Heard it by Anthrax before.

  • i love the sounds of guitars just fucking straight into the amp...no shit muddying it up - like early EVH

  • @3gypt1an FUCK YEAH

  • Classic! Great sound and picture quality for the 60s.

  • My all time favourite guitar band Nokie and Mel two of the finest guitarists and drummers ....ever

  • shreds

  • FANTASTIC !

  • Nokie0064

    Thank YOU

    You made my day

  • Do they make a DvD of this concert, where can I find this video for sale? I had looked up their discography and it said they had video from 1966 or something but I can't find it anywhere online.

  • Yes, it's on The Ventures website. Click store then DVD.

  • ok thank you!

  • Thanks nokie0064! This is what rock and roll is about!

  • OMG i love it thanks

  • great !!

  • I agree with cigarmark, I'd gladly trade a body part for a DVD of this. Great stuff!

  • vai tocar assim la na casa do car.......

  • God almighty. Thank you Nookie04 for posting these gems. I'd give anything to have a DVD of this show. A classic.

  • Magnificent.

Heard it here in Japan for the first time, didn't know it was an old song like that.

    Loved it instantly.

  • OMG I was a child back then, but the music was seared into my memories forever... Even today the music instantly brings back the energy, the innocence, the childhood memories, the clean and simple living from the 60s. Best decade in my mind. Big thanks to nokie0064!!

  • Look how the people stood and clapped for The Ventures.. the WORLD'S BEST rock 'n roll instrumental band! Thanks for all the good music through the years boys!

  • Love the videos, and very happy you posted them like this. Excellent quality and really shows off why they deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. I could have sworn, however, that this concert was from '65. Doesn't matter. Thanks again!

  • Absolutely fantastic! "Diamond Head" has a lot of meaning to me because I live on O'ahu. Did you know that "Diamond Head" is an "extinct" volcanoe??? There is a community living inside the caldera, today. =Stefan=
