Why are there no bodyboarding/surfing companies sponsoring this event? I am stoked to see Continental (make awesome tires for bikes) and Nissan (good progressive car company) involved and helping out - but it just seems a little strange as they don't really have any links/products related directly to bodyboarding. Would also be nice to see major label surf co.s like RipCurl get involved and throw some money behind the series.
@elstado1 When a company is sponsoring an event, whether they have products linked to bodyboarding or not is completely irrelevant. The companies do it for advertising and I'm happy when I see big names like Nissan and stuff because they're the ones with money. Whether its a bodyboarding company or a car company sponsoring the comps the money is still going into the industry. Although it would be nice to see predominately bodyboarding companies doing the sponsoring.
@Brodzy123 true. It's good to see some solid sponsorship and support from larger companies, just a little disappointing that there aren't any booger/surf companies big enough to throw some solid money into it.
Awesome island i surfed there for three weeks in august, soo nice!
It's a pitty that the sharks are spoiling the fun at the moment now.
