Hi my friends. You know...who cares how long Jeff was in Sabbath. "REALLY"!! If people would get over their arguing, and listen to this album, I am sure it will warm your heart! The singing is off the charts. The writing is thought out for endless hours, and the world has blessed us with countless awards. That all means nothing, but the Spirit of the music, and how it touches you, is everything. There are 6 more Joshua albums for you to enjoy. "RESURRECTION", our newest, is THE BEST! Thanks
Jeff Fenholt got the gig with Iommi and then he lost it. They listened to the tapes and after they thought about it decided that Fenholt wasn't what they were looking for. So they are right and he is right. Fenholt never never sang on an actual record for Black Sabath nor did he ever go on tour with them. Even if he was with them for a day he was still with them. But Fenholt makes it sound like he sang for them for a while and they couldn't handle him being a Christian and that is not true.
Reading this I think blacksabfan comes off as a bit of a retarded festering pustulant bag of ass jam, and I mean that in good Chritian way. Dude, why the chip? If you like it - great, if not bugger off you buggering bugger.
And who the hell are you exactly to tell me that some higher power (that may or may not exist) is going to "make me pay", for telling what is the complete truth? Fenholt being a christian has nothing to do with anything; I couldn't give two shits about what he believes in. The point is that he's a liar and he's dishonestly used the Sabbath name to promote his career (whatever that is exactly).
you are absolutely right about "how the LORD saved his soul from hell" ... it's a good thing to know what he was saved from in order for others who are trapped as Jeff was know that the Lord loves them, too, and will deliver them! Pray for those whose hearts Jeff can touch having "walked MILES in their moccasins"...
I said the same thing when I wrote up an entry in my blog about this. Fenholt did other things in his career that are plenty noteworthy, yet he chooses to promote the lie that he was in Sabbath instead. Pretty dumb, but whatever.
Well Fenholt was at best confused..and at worst a liar. Black Sabbath disbanded after Dave Donato was fired in 1984. Tony Iommi was working on a solo project at the time Fenholt was brought in to work with him. Eric Singer and Dave Spitz (who also worked with Iommi during this time) agree that the project began that way. Fenholt was fired because he couldn't produce lyrics, and Glenn Hughes was brought in. At the last minute the company wanted the album to have the name Black Sabbath.
Only at THAT point, was it a Sabbath project. Fenholt's work was NOT part of a Sabbath project, thus he was NOT in Black Sabbath. He only says he is because in makes him more "famous". Perhaps if you knew anything about the history of Black Sabbath you wouldn't spout your mouth off about shit you don't have a clue about. My hearing and comprehension are fine, however I think you're pretty damn gullible if you believe anything that comes out of that hack Fenholt's mouth.
All the controversy aside, Jeff would have been the best singer Black Sabbath ever had; He has more sheer volume and clarity thru all the ranges than any of the others, and they were all great. Ive seen Jeff sing in a church setting without expensive gear to enhance his voice and it is extremely impressive. As Joshua Perahia has even said, hes a true virtuoso.
Ray Gillen was definitely better. Dio was better, Gillan was better. A healthy Glenn Hughes would of been better. Martin at his best is better. Ozzy, while technically not a good singer, fits the music a whole lot better. So no.
Obviously ,I respectfully disagree. Im afraid your opinion is colored by your bent against Jeff Fenholt, so what else where you going to say? Ive had a wierd obsession with "voice" for a long time and truly do like the voices you mentioned, I would even add Joe lynn Turner to your list for his great combo of soul and power. But Jeff would probably drown them all out side by side, hes got titanium vocal chords.
I'm bent against Fenholt? You're the one claiming to have a weird obsession with his voice...
Your own words, not mine.
Ian Gillan was also in Jesus Christ Superstar, just like Mr. Fenholt. Ray Gillen definitely could have been, and Dio turned down a scholarship to Juliard...but whatever...they obviously aren't anywhere as good as Fenholt (rolls eyes).
No black sabbath fan, I said Ive had a wierd obsession with voice in general: from Andrea Boccelli to Leroy Parnell to all the great singers you mentioned. Listen, in the end it does come down to taste; Ive come to the conclusion that Jeffs voice ( tone, volume, longgevity..) is one of my favorites. It doesnt have to be yours. Thanks and have a great day.
I never doubted he had a great voice. I just said he wasn't the best Sabbath would of ever had, if he was even in Sabbath (which he wasn't).
I'm more concerned with his lying about it after all these years. You'd think he'd focus on Jesus Christ Superstar and working on being a better Christian than trying to promote something that he was never really a part of...you know, just to slander it. That's just common sense talking though...
Well, I have nothing to go on other that Jeffs word; Im not really well versed on the "controversy" and realy dont care to be. As with all good friendships you err on the side of the testimony of your friend.
Im not going to get sucked into the black hole of the "he said he said" madness of which im never going to know of any real certainty. You say hes lying, hes sais, rather forcefully, hes not; Neither you or I were there that is certain. Again, Jeffs a friend, therefore I believe him
That my comment regarding Jeff being the best they would have ever had is my opinion is self evident and could never have been anything more than my opinion. I apologise for getting carried away and stating it as if it was fact. Its art, and therefore it is subjective. But I do love his voice.
The people who were there have all said, in print, (at least 3 different people) that he wasn't in Sabbath. Eric Singer, Dave Spitz, and Iommi himself. Yes, the three of them all decided to lie, and only Fenholt is telling the truth. They don't have any incentive to lie about it (I mean who cares, honestly if he was), but Fenholt sure does...convenient way to further his career...isn't it? I mean use your head...
Scarlett...Don't let anyone hurt you with remarks about Jeff. He is an "AWESOME" singer, and a great blessing for my band. His vocal abilities are beyond description. I have worked with great singers in my career, and Jeff is the best. He doesn't need to mention his work with members of Sabbath, for recognition. He is simply, "THE BEST". We are close brothers, and I thank God for his friendship. We all go through tests by the Almighty, and he is doing great! I'll let him know you asked for him.
Yes, God has used this man in a mighty way! My daughter, son, and I were listening in the over-flow room during one of his concerts; and when it was over, he passed by and returned to pray over my teens. Well! Both kids overcame their troubles and are serving the Lord. I truly believe Jeff's prayers were answered! We are forever grateful to Jeff for coming back and praying for them. Our God is SO GOOD! May our Lord shower Jeff and his family with many blessings! Thank You!!
Please somebody, tell me where he is ministering & performing. He has had an incredible impact on me and my families life. He had a word of knowledge for me in 1993 at one of his outreaches. It was right on. God uses him in a mighty way.
i know jeff and he is an amazing person, with a great heart. he alos originated the role of Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar" on broaday. he really is an amazing person
lol joshua periah that's funny, he talks about jesus and christianiaty, but he has one of the biggest jewish names in history! although the perahia family is jewish, they go back to walking through egypt with jesus, joshua perahia talks about christianity and is christian but his father is jewish and has one of the oldest jewish family names in history, it makes me laugh.
@Ah1294 How is that funny? Of course he has a Biblical name. Jesus was Jewish and so were Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It makes sense for a Christian to have a Biblical name like Joshua.
Jeff and Reeni Fenholt have around five children and now some grand-children. They are great Christian people. Jeff uses the sabbath name for testimony purposes only. He has a heart for God. Read his book "From Darkness to Light." I met him years ago at a church...At the time I was a single mom raising three daughters. He deeply impacted my life with his testimony.
I like Jeff Fenholt. I have a deep respect for him. Please let me clarify. Just because Jeff says that he was a singer in Black Sabbath and/or still claims an association with them does not mean that he is not a Christian. The Bible says the pure in heart shall see God. We don't know men's hearts always. God sees us on the inside. He knows our thoughts and what we really are. People are the ones who judge the outside because that's what they see first. Hope this helps.
Yeah, Fenholt is a fraud. If he even was in "Sabbath" as he claims, he's still wrong because Sabbath wasn't a band at that point, he was working with Iommi on what was meant to be his solo album. Fenholt was wrong. See above. His claim that he was in Black Sabbath is impossible since Sabbath wasn't a band at that point in time.
