  • I love her so, .. a wonderful heartbreak-version with Mexican Accordeon and Folk Mandoline. .. The E-Guitarist (or bassist) is only to the begin boring. .. Then he plays his part very well !

  • @8276205 i agree this is not a song for her--its def a willy song

  • I viewed your video, This is Exceptional too!

  • Sounds a bit scratchy. Not a patch on her 1977 performance with Rodney Crowell.

  • @8276205

Sorry, but you couldn't be much more wrong, in my opinion.

One thing about knee-jerk reactions ...

  • Oh, Emmylou. you are so lucky - you get better with age.

A beuatiful lady, with a beautiful voice.

    May your god bless you.

  • @dobella Emmmylou is the most beautiful gray haired lady ever!

  • Emmylou Is so AWESOME!!!

  • @steele917 ...I'll second that...

  • thanks

  • A great Van Zandt song done very well.

  • What a pretty girl with a voice like an angel.

  • GaelicPrince . . you are soo right. Sessions at the Greenbriar, ensemble at Passim. even a uke jam. Play99ng with friends is the best.

    Gesundheit

  • Recall having a friend drop in, with his harmonica, then a couple more friends, with guitar and mandolin, then one or two more, another guitar and banjo, my special lady firing up her pump organ, somebody gets to pickin' and we start singing, and it gets to be about as close to heavenly as anything I know! Try it, you'll never forget it!

  • I can't believe the FOOL who's posting comments on how to spell "Pancho" on various versions of this song on YouTube. IT DOESN'T MATTER. It's only YT, not a statue or plaque commemorating Townes Van Zandt song.

PLEASE don't waste the time of listeners and the people who go to the trouble of posting these great entertainments..

  • @alejhombre

I just want to add: that's the way it was written -- it was Pancho (not Poncho). so if they can't figure that out then they don't really understand; not only that, you're right, it doesn't matter, people .... just LISTEN!

  • I'm Argentinian, and I don't have the luck of being able to watch this woman live. This version of this song is just the greatest. She's a goddess. I'm in love. The last chorus, her voice color, everything. I'm gonna watch it again (for the 12th time in the evening)

  • Korg-ca30

  • No, in this case as Townes wrote it, it's PANCHO.

  • I have all her albums on vinyl

  • I just heard Emmylou's version and like it a lot.She can make any song her own.I'm just really finally discovering her after all these wasted years. I'll have to make up for lost time,Thanks to You Tube I can hear a lot of her songs. She is beautiful and I love her voice.

  • Has there ever been such a great singer who keeps changing the sound with each new great band and we are so lucky to have so many live performances here. thanks for sharing

  • the words are good enough, the music amplifies, love it!

  • I love this wonderful beautiful woman.

  • I discovered Emmylou in 76 when she was singing on "I Just Can't Believe it" with The Pure Prairie League. I went out and bought "Luxury Liner" the next day and I've been a fan of Emmylou since.

  • Wow!

she is singing this song perfectly !

respect , I didnt expect to love her version .

    Good Job !

  • I love this singer. Thanks for posting this video, sounds great!

  • She can't put a note wrong, but is her bassist drunk?

    Thanks much!

  • @louiseduvee Good observation

  • @dav1492 I still like this performance, though. She's so focused.

  • I've loved here for almost 35 years.

  • thanks for posting this

  • Just like Bobby Orr was the greatest skater ever, including Olympic gold medal figure skaters. Emmylou is the greatest singer including opera singers. Hers is not the voice of am angel but the voice of an arch angel. And her physical beauty is breath taking.

  • Awesome Post(and thanks for sharing Mandy)!

  • Killer, I'm getting ready to see her play in San Francisco next weekend. I hope she plays this song, one of my favorites.

  • Emmylou looks and sounds as great as always, with one of my favorite songs, by the late, great Townes Van Zandt. Emmylou, how do you do it?
