  • Ive got one thats alittle older but it looks almost exactly like yours. ^-^ I love it its lots of fun

  • im getting that soon

  • You wont regret it, they are great steam engines :)

  • i have one of these bought it in the mid 70's

they run nice and if you look at the boiler ther is a tap to drain the water. ran mine the other day with a small aircompressor.

they use fire lighter's not meths.

  • Kool. My mother bought me one in July, 1973. A little smaller and less sophisticated than the one on the video. I still have it. I was only 12 at the time. Had lots of fun with it.

  • ok thank you. thats what i do but i wasnt sure if that was the proper way of emptying it.

  • how do you empty the boiler when you are done running it? do you just tip it upside down and shake it out?

  • Hi brandonkr1

Yes you just unscrew the safety valve and tip it upside down to empty the water out

  • Very Nice!!! I'm in the market, trying to make a model of an old steam-powered sawmill. It might be quite a challenge!!!

  • Smooth running, no loose bearing surfaces. I really like that engine's sounds, Mike.

    It's a beauty!

  • Thx reid

The Wilesco has a real nice slow tickover

  • can you power a tv with that or a lite with it

  • It wouldnt power a TV lol

But yes it would power a few lights, a radio, and other low enegy appliences, with a suitable dynamo.

  • i think you should put up a vid of your fathers steam enigne which (coincidentaly ran the year i was born 1994) but has tons of cool stuff, and if not could you just tell what is on there all i could tell was a governer and other suff i have no idea what they are

  • You will get one eventually randomguy9898

Keep trying, you could check out the for sale thread on the "Toy steam forum" there is a link in my "YouTube" page

  • man i given up on ebay now after so much losses. i bought a stirling kit from ebay but thats it. i think i might just buy a jensen 75 from a website

  • i lost...again..., well time to waste more of my life on ebay....

  • thx

  • Hope you get it randomguy9898 they really are nice machines,

Good luck with your bid :)

  • nice engine im going to bid on an old wilesco d 16 on ebay right now

  • I`ve one like that, yours is just some more advanced

  • love it

  • That sounds terrific, thumping away like that. One day I'll have to acquire one of those larger Wilesco engines. I've got my eye on the D21. The other eye is on my wallet, though, and the time is not yet right ;D

  • Which engine is that one?The D22?

She certainly is a good runner, nice large flywheel!I myself have the D455 vertical engine, that runs well, unfortunately the original boiler burst!!It was less than a week old and the join between the boiler top plate and the boiler barrel actually split along the soldered joint!!Unbelievable, these engine only run at about 15psi!!The supplied sent me a new boiler after they tried to fix the old one and made a right mess of it,Stew

  • ... yo, mate! A fine machine, super well kept! The way she starts up when you open the valve - no helping push to the fly wheel needed! Great!

    Cheers, Tom

  • Thx Tom, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
