  • MAN YOU did a wonderful job of the first segment. The only thing i didnt hear was the palm muting at the second passage after the starting part. U should turn ur bass on the amp a lil bit more :) and remember the rhythm..i'l see if i can post a video of the first segment aswell :) we can rock out!

  • It's getting there, man, keep plugging at it and it'll come together - this is a bitch of a song.

  • thats mad dude! but a tip for next, make your guitar volume a bit louder than the music.

    cheers!

  • The guitar was much louder than the song ;o

  • holy shit that was 8 months ago :O

it felt like yesterday. haha and what the hell was i thinking? the volume's fine :P

  • thats some pretty breakthrough shit that like keep up the strumming

  • Hello Johnharvey1,

First of all awesome cover it sounds just like the actual song. I wanted to know what effects/amp(amp settings) you used for this cover.

    Thanks,

    futbolking

  • i wish i could play this good

  • I wish

  • awesome

how long have u been playing the guitar?

  • I like the guitar, only guitar that beats it is the PRS CE's or SE's ;)

  • Don't forget the Custom 24!

  • get the music man, olp sucks

  • I love how EVERYONE thinks that the 16th note triplets are in guitar as well. They aren't! It's a well written part for the set...it's so deceptive.

  • you have a fantastic guitar lets rock!!!!!!!!

  • i gief you credit..

    That was nice

  • The best? yes, that will be steve Vai,

    no doubt.

  • look for constant motion tab in guitarpro...

    main riff is not correct..

  • steve vai?! HA!

  • nice great job

  • Dude you suck.. Im sorry but I always tell the truth... You need lessons from the best... and that would be Steve Vai...

  • Steve Vai? You got to be kidding me...

  • john petrucci is the best there n00b

  • I like J.Petrucci very much but I can't agree that he is the best guitar player it the world! :)

  • Steve Vai definitely isn't the best. He's up there with a lot of players, but not the best. Its all personal preference though. I think Petrucci flat out smokes Vai, but Vai is good nonetheless. =Petruccirocks02

  • im a big fan of petrucci, but Vai is a way better guitarist... check out Guthrie Govan!

  • the main riff is wrong :S

  • i play this song too, and this is the way to.

  • well done! that was an awesome cover!

  • Not really.

  • he's faked it!

  • aw it cut off at the cool part. but good job, u have the intro better than i do. but work on the verse, you need those triplets cuz they sound awesome when done right.

  • Wrong. The triplets are only in the drumset.

  • you may be able to play guitar, but you can't spell "segmemt"

  • apparantly, neither can you. good playing.

  • lol oops. its ok, you cants spell "apparently" :)

  • haha my bad, and i guess you can't spell "cant" :-p lol

  • Damn. i got pwned lol

  • hahaha

  • hi! i couldn't let your video without a drum background!

you're an awesome player, and i tried to mix my drum parts with your recording. its not perfect, but its something already! if you're interested, we can share other recordings. my e-mail is nanodrummer @ gmail . com

  • yes

the picking from the first riff is important

  • its true that the main missed alot picking but your pretty good!

  • not bad, but far from correct. Your missing out the 16th note triplets in the main riff. (you're winging it) Work on that if you're ever gonna play the verse riff to glass prison. Practice, practice, practice

  • Yeah, I agree on the 16ths, they make it what it is.

I would also suggest that you down pick more. A lot of this sounds a bit too... strummy... As if you're not putting enough attack in. Which I think downpicking would improve.

Jesus, I hate that riff in Glass Prison, well, I love it. But I'm not quite up to playing it yet. Another thing you'd need to work on for Glass Prison is the number of strings on your guitar...

  • ya dude work on the 16th notes but good anyway

  • Man, everyone I've seen on YouTube plays this the same... but differently than I do. I'll have to upload a vid. Great playing mate! 5/5

  • great! (i think u could be a bit more economic with finger movement....but thats minor) playing sounds great
