Yes. Everyone thinks Gwar is more about theatrics than the music, and that the music is just a secondary thought, but in reality, they are one of the most amazingly versatile bands ever.
2:11 through 3:50 best part of the song. this album was alot more deep, and emotional. ex. the new plague(about oderous having aids), fire in the loins, stalins organs,
saw them live twice. now they dont come to germany...gwar is THE most underrated band in the world! my favourite album is this toilet earth! but i like every album but we kill everything and the newer beyond hell.
1997s carnival of chaos is great too...a mix of metal, hardcore, country, punk, jazz. but heavy most of time. great! search for "sammy" and "the road behind" if u like this tune here!
read the critics and dont call me idiot u child! why do you farts always have to be so rude? didnt mommy and daddy teach you more than masturbating? asshole!
do you play an instrument? u know nothing! if U stood in front ogf me Ud be so small and shit your pants Csucker!
you are an idiot, yes i do play guitar. and i bet i am not as small as you think. the point is if you really like GWAR, you would know how badass beyond hell was. the only reason you wouldn't like it is if you didn't even listen to it. that was the cd that got me into metal so maybe it just has some sentimental value to me. but even now i can listen to it and enjoy it. guess you are just gay man. sorry.
wait, read the critics, like what the critics thought of it? so your saying "they don't like it so why should i even though i haven't listened to it" right?
the songs dont hit Ur ear! almost all gwar songs did! even the heavier ones! like biledriver, womb, etc. I have the album of course and i am a die hard fan, believe me. there are three songs on the album I have to admit are not bad. those are go 4 - 6. but seriously: eight lock e.g. do U really think that this song compares to HITS like immortal corruptor, Crack in the egg, etc? i think its lame. U hear the lineupchanges now. and pepper: yes, i think the second part of Ur name was chosen wisely.
given beyond hell is no this toilet earth or america must be destroyed, i like the way GWAR is going with it. they are seeming to move into heavier shit, and 8th lock is cool as fuck
Beyond Hell has some cool moments, and I love the booklet and the story in it. But it's one of my least favorite Gwar albums, I really don't like the school's out cover either...
@Korndude4561 Um, no. That was the Christian Apocalypse/Armageddon that was supposedly meant to happen on the turn of the century. Ragnarok is a Norse thing that's only vaguely similar to the Apocalypse.
@ShyDaniel2112 The Y2K phenom had nothing to do with Armageddon. There's many thing that need to happen yet for that to come about, although many Biblical prophesies are unfolding. Y2K was mostly a big freak out cuz people thought all of the computers in the world would go ape shit cuz they wouldn't recognize the year 2000 and would go to 1900 instead and wipe out all the info in all the world and we would become drooling idiots. That's how I remember it, anyway.
@freakunit99 Oh, I know that biblically speaking, there was nothing special about the year 2000. There *were*, however, several wingnut groups who insisted there was something to it. There've been people insisting The End Is Nigh™ since shortly after Christ's death. Groups tend to pop up everytime the end of a century is near and they typically either disappear after nothing happens or their members claim their numbers were off and the next time it'll be the Big One.
The ending lyrics always hit me hard

Anyone who doubts GWAR's musical prowess is an asshole and a retard. I digg the guitars in GWAR. They are inventive and free-willed.

I found this song to be much more serious compared to the others..
.. if you ignore the midget and intro part, of course.
Thaeru 2 years ago
I got a midget following me around everywhere I go now
He says his name is Joe now, I really just don't know now
None but the brave, why do you stay and stay?
Sad enough to make me cry, strong enough to make me die
Now I'm feeling saddle sore
Now I'm feeling warm
Keep you here safe from harm, tuck you down inside my arm
And when you're lonely and afraid, remember the love we made
-i didnt take that as serious, but i get what you mean, it feels very personal being how silly they usually are :)
Ele3tricEye 2 years ago 7
@Thaeru i agree, because they opened up the realism of Rag Na Rok,which Supposeldy ws supposed to happen 1/1/2000 but of course never did. lol
