What this asshole did was take three minutes to define philosophy as "ushering in knowledge about the grand process", or better said, "study of the fundamental nature of existence", which you could have done in three goddamn seconds by looking it up in a fucking dictionary.
If you want to investigate philosophy, read the works of people who actually examined the world seriously, John Locke, Immanuel Kant, Plato, Wittgenstein, or the modern Peter Singer.
@PimpingRice It what way? Nothing of substance about philosophy was actually said, only an ambiguous tale about an 'apprentice' who asks a 'master philosopher' what philosophy is, which then goes on uselessly about ushering in knowledge of the 'grand process' without ever addressing the knowledge gleaned about said process. This is more about show, to create a pretense of thought, then actual philosophical inquiry.
i want ot put your video on my blog, itsyourphilosophy.blogspot.com
anyone who wants to share thier own philosophy visit this site, im really trying to build something out of it.and if you would like to beocme an author on it just let me know.
The grand process...well,philosophy gained nothing much then!
Eventually nearly all philosophers eventually came up with just looking at a rock and asking it "WHO ARE YOU!!!"
From there on...each Ushered whatever they imagined the stone saying.
The Grand process eventually is just a bunch of very annoying mechanics that makes everything work, you keep to the process, you gain Nothing but a feeling that you found something, while in the end...it was just another rock that had nothing to say.
Thank you for making me think over my morning sip of caffeine. I believe I have an opposite view: IMAGINATION is boundless. However, KNOWLEDGE is BOUND. I pray that others see light in this TRUTH so that we can CHANGE our planet for the better. IMAGINE
@ForeverSistersMom Knowledge actually is not bound to anything,it is has limitless and changing has imagination itself-All depends upon what collisions happen where, and what the result of that process results in-and how everything affects every little part of the puzzle. Also, you can always look deeper or farther away.
People do need to see the Truth,in order to change the planet for the better, but it's kinda too late for that you know...
The only real meaning is the one you give to what you see.
I am a printer, not a philosopher however i like to read and study about philosophy it always grabbed my attention (not that it matters to anyone but a bit of personal information) i have always been told the only work for me would be manual work because (to sugar coat it) i was never considered to be intellectual,of course this bit of information i would never reveal in the real world but in the blanket of anonymity of you tube i am able to.
@philosophicalreason your wording is clear and creative. screw the worlds collective reality, to contend or be what they expect you to would be losing yourself in the process like the video said in the beginning. many people just regurgitate what they see and hear in the media, which is pretty dumb ed down. in this ride of life you can only go by what your seances inform you. for me its two reality's, society's reality & your reality. like anything else its a balancing act. spell check 4 the win
Hey,I'm an idiot,yet some call me a philosopher =D
the word "intellect" is not one to fit humans,Humanity did not solve it's primal issues from the dawn of time...they are not intellect, only over-grown,so don't worry about that,Everyone on earth are stupid just the same =D
I never studied philosophy...I just opened my eyes and said my opinion upon what I behold.
And about the "manual work" thing...people just put you down because they are asspickers, don't bother with their petty opinions-be you.
To locate philosophy in synergistic dynamics, not statics or deified (nominalist) emergent properties (of Aristotle's metaphysics) was an ancient focus too.
The main sign of its co-metas (mind change & changes per se) was the comet, also meaning "long hair" in Greek, a "comet calm-down" (see christening of JC, tears & longhair as Messiahs in Luke7.38)
A main Olympic god had this unveiled long hair: virgin Minerva/Athena/Nike as sacred spirit-mind of Jove plus sage/career midwife animist aspects.
I'm from vietnam. My teacher told me to watch this vid and after that answer the ques what is philosophy in my way. Can u give me an English script of this vid for better understanding. I really need it in 5 hours. Thanks
@awreadybro1 Well said. it's not about being like the experts in the field, the masters, it's about mastery of self, a recognition of the most apparent truth, self-mastery. :-) thanks for watching, peace.

Buddha taught the grand process with the fourfold truth best of all - that life is the agony and the ecstasy - and it comes in the FORM of an attachment to desires - aka opinions - then intentions - then talk, act, living, effort, aware - focus on the opinions we are walking talking living breathing attachments to desires - our opinions as the force of gravity - be non condemning - non threatening - loving and compassionate - in regard to others - who are attachments to desires - YAY BUDDHA!!!
This video captures the truth about philosophy in a dynamic way. Many people are confused about philosophy because it is about the questions (process) not the answers (product). As a former philosophy professor, my favorite thumbnail definition is: "Philosophy is the study of answers to the questions which we cannot answer with complete certainty, but which we must answer with our actions as we live day to day and hour to hour." (E.g., what is my responsibility to others?)
@ToadHead Thanks. They say philosophers love to kick up dust and then complain that they can't see. That's what we do. The process is always more meaningful than the answers. peace.
@l337z0r LOL!! It's a good day :-) My mom's the same so I feel ur pain!! LOL...dude ABSORB...sponge mode...quite time...John Nash mode...be open to being ABSOLUTELY WRONG about everything you thought ABOUT EVERYTHING...Listen first then speak...listen and look for redundancies...there are no such things as coincidences...there is a pattern to everything...if you can't find one make one up...people are distractions...read very very slowly...be patient...challenge your beliefs...GRIND...GRADUATE!!
I really liked this a lot and fundamentally agree. It is about the process. The poet William Blake said in The Marriage of Heaven and Hell "Opposition is true friendship". Friedrich Nietzsche said much the same about suffering and hardship and choosing the hard path of truth. All the existentialists said much the same about the way through suffering being to choose suffering. It is the thesis, antithesis, synthesis and irony of our lives that this should be so... yet it is so...
The way of philosophy flows internally externally to the realm beyond the senses, breaking down the pillars of logic, until the thing we call foundation is broken, things spin magically in order by the authority of being, with our reflection it is then defined giving meaning, we Tye together the pillars that shape a foundation thus an existence we define, but we can not take away or give existence to anything or even our self, but can shape time before us, leaving it behind us. Defining it.
@sumayahrose Understanding and shaping philosophy persist progressively a product of reflection a physicality of rational, beyond the minds eye and the door of the soul from the heavens to the emptiness that awaits us when death knocks at our door, beyond logic, poems, emotions, events, from the absolute to the abstract philosophy represents a purpose of knowing what was and what is, inside outside, metaphysical, metaphorical, it just is! Philosophy is...
This is a bunch of bullcrap.
