Going on 5 years later, this so-called "bill" has been frowned upon for NOT living up to it's promises. It is largely an unfunded federal mandate that only 4 states have adopted thus far. It is by and large, the most draconian, unconstitutional and mean-spirited bill ever made into law. Fear mongering and LIES for money and job creation, not child safety! This chld grew up, recanted to an ex homicide commander, now head of a voice-testing company who teaches police. I read that 85% of the abuse of kids is done by family or a person close and trusted by the family/child. Sure, you have to watch strangers around you kids, but according to statistics you better watch grandpa, babysitter, priest, teacher, etc, etc. The really horrible cases such as the Chelsea King murder are a rarity, abuse by family is a lot more common.

U live in a dream world and need to go back to it. This law does not protect ur children. People accused of streaking and urinating in public are being put on this registry? Did streaking or urinating in public kill john walsh's son? This is a bad law and needs to be revised. This is destroying thousands of peoples lives across the US that don't need to be on the registry in the first place. People as young as 4 are being placed on the registry.
