Rio alone received 5 million revelers...Industry chain numbers revolves about US$ 1 billion including parades, parties, manufacturing, TV broadcasting rights, licensing, services, and hotels...Just on 2 day parade, there were 5.000 media professionals and Rio parade broadcasting to 2 billion people in 180 countries! Wow!

No..... The most incredible on is the "Gavioes da Fiel" that it's from Sao Paulo.... n it's from a Soccer Team,that it's SO MUCH famous, it's the biggest team in Sao Paulo n the 2nd in his country!.... I was there in Rio in 2007, 2008, 2009 n 2010! ^^' it's really amazing n an huge party!

@ara89tres It was in 2006, so its the musica is the samba of Mangueira (samba school) in that year. The subject of parade on the occasion and the name of music were: Mangueira samba-enredo 2006 - Das Águas do Velho Chico, Nasce um Rio de Esperança. Search on youtube. Its amazing samba.

I would love to attend Carnival in Rio someday. It beats Mardi Gras in New Orleans to pieces. I would love to have a Carnival celebration just like the one in Rio here in the United States so I would not have to travel to Rio to catch such a great show. @darestcaroline Hi I am Brazilian live in rio de janeiro highly recommend the city not because it has a lot of violence, but I love the carnival here very good, she significaton queens and queen of the carnival they are the queen of the samba school, but we accept people who are not Brazil's samba school, but everyone can be at the carnival, of course you can go to the carnival like you is seeing everything as if it were a stage of American futbool but much bigger and bigger

@dearestcaroline The carnival takes place at the beginning of the year without a fixed date, usually in February, everyone can participate in the carnival, Queens has only featured on the front and are usually the most beautiful. (: Best place to go in Carnaval is Salvador-Bahia or Rio de Janeiro-Rio de Janeiro and Olinda-Pernambuco is great too.

Ok, if you want to see (just see) the parade its about R$ 35 (the bleachers,most cheap and far place to see the parade). But if you want to buy a costume and parade in the sambadorme it will cost about R$ 200. Hotels you can find from R$ 50 (a day in some hostels called ''albergues'') to R$ 700 a day (in copacabana palace). Search some sites. Theres a lof of places to stay. Food in Brazil is very cheap. You'll pay R$ 10-15-20 for good food. And remember: 1 EURO = 2,32 BRAZILIAN REAL (R$).
